England was a Christian country when I was a schoolboy. At morning assembly we sang hymns, and the headmaster said the Lord's Prayer and we all said Amen. It was just a regular state school, not a special Christian school.

Everything changed when our MPs, taught by atheist teachers and academics, detested or became indifferent to Christianity and its traditions. They, the law makers, embraced other cultures (which included foreign faiths) because of diversity. Its momentum coincided with the anti-racism movement.

Reckon the 'police' themselves should be charged with wasting 'police' time.
Why? It is just as likely that the complaint was valid as it is not. I can perfectly imagine a street preacher ranting nonsense about gay people going to hell etc etc. If the language used to express that nonsensical opinion is derogatory, then it is likely to cause offence under the law. It's just a pity the complainant didn't video it to verify their complaint. At present it is just their word against the preacher.

Being a Christian country is not a licence to prejudice against groups of people. The law is clear on that. We don't have footage of this man actually preaching, but if someone made a complaint about homophobic language, I can imagine there is cause to that complaint.

Ok, now that it is established that there was no hate crime committed by these people, nor racist comments, isn’t the police going to investigate the caller who made a false allegation and used police force where it wasn’t needed, probably preventing them to respond to a real crime?!
Nothing has been established though. The police are no more obliged to take the preacher's word for anything than the complainants.

@@postcardsfromprotest ok, fair point, but even in this case I would imagine that the police would have to then investigate if this preacher was committed a hate crime(especially given the info that they are doing this preaching regularly). So again, it would have been appropriate to contact the person who made the allegation and ask for details to establish if there was a threat. However, since they went and didn’t have anything to arrest the preacher and given the statement after that, we could conclude that it was a false alarm and even the police didn’t believe it, so why not look into it. Either way, it would be useful. And again, if people could call the police only to use them for intimidation and waste their time, tax money and prevent them from going after serious crimes, there should be consequences.
Never mind the original complainant, it's these five bolshy police officers who came mob-handed on an anti-Christian agenda who should be disciplined, espicially the female, who wouldn't let the preacher defend himself but kept threatening him.

I am a retired C of E Vicar. I used to do open air preaching in public places. I am shocked at what is happening here. Yet the Muslim protestors got away with "gas the Jews". Two tier policing indeed! Well done Pastor Dwaine, may The Lord bless your ministry.
Personally, I give people proclaiming religion on the street - whether it be Moslem, Hindu, Christian or anthing else - a wide berth. By all means, proselytise in private, but surely the street is not the right place . . .

We used to have a society which allowed for freedom of speech and freedom of religious belief - or to not believe. This meant that people could express such things in public, walk on by, or debate. Looks like preaching the simple Christian gospel message is prohibited now, while Islam gets a free pass. This worries me... I have lived in Saudi Arabia where Christian activity is suppressed. Looks like we are heading in that direction.

However, I find doing it in a more personal way to be more effective and I do it this way and get results. Besides, which, I live in the North of England. We've been a secular nation for at least the last 100 years. Christianity lost it's claws about 2-300 years ago. Christianity in it's orthodoxy was burning women alive at the stake for practicing medicine and science calling them witches, calling people heretics for doing astronomy discovering that we weren't at the centre of the galaxy and who knows what else. Christmas and Easter can be observed as commercial holidays now as opposed to religious ones, we as a secular nation and America thankfully took religion out of these holidays and made it accessible to all. We have a secular government. There is a reason why we have a separation of Church and state. Russia says it is an orthodox Christian nation but is supplied Hamas with weapons and has attacked Ukraine. I could go on and on.
And we wonder why there are no shoplifters being stopped and arrested!!!

Pretty much did all the investigating ourselves & had to present what we found to the police but when someone is preaching the gospel to help people, they have enough resources to send 5 police officers 🤦🏾♀️.
