This is such a dumb debate. Shaq and Kobe averaged 57 points in an era where teams averaged around 90 points per game and they actually played defense. While Shaq missed about half his free throws. This era, teams average around 120 a game and play no defense. Shaq and Kobe the greatest duo ever, and its not even close.

Kobe was only defensively better than Kyrie, everyone knows Kyrie is the most skilled. Sure Kobe mentored him but he doesn’t have better handles and a better bag. Like I said he is a terrible shooter because he takes bad shots and always shoots contested shots. I wouldn’t call Kobe skilled, he’s a black hole and a ball hog. People all forgot before Kobe passed.

Doesn’t score like Kobe did. Hasn’t come close to giving consecutive 40+ point games like Kobe has. Hasn’t led Olympic teams to Gold like Kobe has done twice. Hasn’t had any All-Defensive selections. Not even one. Kobe has 12 All Defensive selections with 9 being 1st Team. I could go on and on and on and on and on. Kyrie is nowhere near Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is at the very least Top 2 All-Time Greatest Player of All-Time and Greatest Laker of All-Time who retired 3rd All-Time Leading Scorer and has 2 Jersey Retired with 2 statues being with his two different numbers as the first player ever in NBA history to have more than 1 Statue built for himself. How did he get put up there with his terrible percentages and being carried by Shaq and the stacked Lakers team. Of course Kobe is gonna score more points than Kyrie, how many shot attempts has he taken? Let me go find it… he averaged nearly 20-27 shots per game shooting an abysmal 44% average. He also shoots 32% from 3, kyrie shoots 39%. Even free throws Kyrie has got him beat with 89 vs 84.
Since you put Kobe so high up, you must think he is better than Duncan. Before Kobe passed Duncan was ranked higher. The list goes MJ, Bron, Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Wilt, Russel (can be discarded) Tim Duncan, Bird, Kobe etc..
Bron is now cemented #2 all time with his accomplishments. Kobe rode his way to 5 championships so we’re not gonna count those, he never lead the team except with pau gasol. He was never top 5 until his passing, so don’t give me any bs

    Jokic and Murray in 2023.
    They averaged 56 points and 17 assists combined on 52+ /42+ /85 + splits.
They withstood the pick n roll defenses of Gobert, Jimmy and Bam, and the dpoy defense of AD.
They slashed every defense like it was butter. No weakness offensively in terms of post play, mid range, shooting, scoring and free throw shooting.
Kobe was inconsistent scoring and efficiency wise and Shaq missed half of his free throws, making certain games closer than what they should have been.
2023 Jokic and Murray are the peak offensive duo.

Nah… Even IF someday we’ll be able to say it, you can’t really say it right now! Furthermore, I won’t even say that they’re the best offensive/scoring duo in terms of talent and prime play only… and we’ve seen Kyrie at his best (which is amazing), even if Luka still has ways to go.
In terms of overall career, obviously you can’t make that claim.
I’d definitely go with Shaq and Kobe when it comes to career/accolades but also combined level of play together! Then you got KD+Steph and Bron+Wade.
Btw, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor played plenty of years together, while averaging more than 55 points per game combined various times!!… but nobody will mention them, ofc.
Bird and McHale combined for 54 ppg in 1987!
They don’t have the longevity factor, yeah... Kevin wasn’t at his best till like 1985 and then got injured in 1987 never being quite the same again. Larry also was never the same after 1988. Still, even in 1988, Bird averaged 30 and McHale 23 (in 64 games). And obviously, they won titles together!

Harden / Westbrook is the only one close. They have a slight advantage in pts and assists BUT Westbrook only played 57 games (and Harden only played 68). You can't be the best if it's based on 2/3 of the season. Kyrie missed a lot of games this year, but still played 11 more than Westbrook. We'll see how they finish the playoffs (where the numbers are down because of Luka's injury), and then we'll see if they can do it again next year. It's one thing to have a great year, but to really be the best you have to do it repeatedly, even if it's just 2 or 3.

Those 02 lakers averaged 100.4 ppg twitch is 57% of the teams points. The mavericks led the league at 103 ppg to give u an idea of the league then. these mavericks average 117.9 ppg which they average 48.6% of their teams points. The 2019 rockets averaged 117.8ppg so harden and Westbrook scored 51.5% of their teams points. Context matters. These guys and the media in general seem to never give you all the information to fully understand their arguments.
