  • In this video I go through my basic Lightroom editing workflow for woodland images and how to add a lovely glow. It's a follow-up to my first ever video I made on here and has a few additional steps using Photoshop to help make your images look more dreamy and magical.
It's a bit of a longer video so i've added lots of chapters along the way so you can get to the bits you're interested in.
Thanks again and have a great day!

@@PeterSladenPhotography I tried out some of these techniques on a woodland waterfall I took back in the summer and it turned out fantastic. I was already using the Orton effect but was painting on a mask to select where it is applied. I had not previously considered luminosity. Affinity photo 2 allows a curves adjustment on a luminosity mask, and this achieved the same result as the TK add in. Finally what really made a difference was using the HSL and a mask to add some blue into the waterfall and add some yellow into the greens as you demonstrated. My Canon 7DMKii has a tendency to overdo the green. I think there will be some fog Sunday, so looking forward to trying out some shots. I've actually avoided fog previously as I'm only 3 years into photography and still on that learning curve.

Hey Chris, so glad to hear all this! Great you went back to some old pictures too, to have a play around with the editing! Hope you managed to get out in the fog it can help make for amazing atmospheric photos! Happy shooting!

Great Video again, Peter! I will also check out that TK7 panel. I have never used it. However, i almost always use the Orton effect on my landscape images as well as my street photography with the right type of light :D

Great video Peter, I enjoyed how you linked your on location intent for editing then brought them to life at home. It’s always interesting to see how others edit their images and the rationale behind. Thanks for sharing.

@@PeterSladenPhotography It was actually handy to see your approach as I need to edit these images from last week with Silver Birches as that is not my natural environment.

Excellent video and enjoyed the advice and wise words which will be a help to me. About 4 minutes into the video, is that deer running not far behind you? Thank you and look forward to seeing more from you in the future.
