      The funny thing is that on a spinning flat world the coriolis effect would be even more pronounced :D

    • @garypowell1540
      @garypowell1540 Před 3 lety +27

      @@theotherone5754 Rubbish no flat Earther believes that the Earth is spinning. it is perfectly stationary, otherwise, this chap would not be able to hit any of his longer-range targets as the maths involved would be utterly ridiculous to perform. All snipers would only need the mathematical skills of Einstein they would have to know exactly where they are and the target is in relationship to everything else. I can perfectly assure you that whatever this guy says he does in this regard in practice he does nothing of the kind, and neither does he need to. If this effect was real all aircraft including commercial ones which travel all over the World and much slower would need to take an account of Coriolis in their direction and fuel consumption calculations which they simply don't. All airlines work on the assumption that the world is both essentially flat and 100% stationary.
      They say that the reason for this is that the Earth's atmosphere is fixed to the surface and therefore Coriolis can be completely discounted. You can't have it both ways. It either is or it is not. What affects a fast-moving bullet equally affects anything else traveling through the air, or it affects neither. This implies that there is no Coriolis effect because the Earth is indeed as perfectly stationary as it clearly appears to be. After all, apparently, the earth under your feet is moving/spinning at something between 500-1040 MPH depending on your precise latitude. Please stand up and ask yourself why you don't immediately fall over if the reason why you don't is that the Earth's atmosphere is moving at precisely the same speed as your feet are, whatever your latitude maybe?

      @@BrushEm Why does the Earth need to be spinning or moving anywhere. Surely it would much easier to go into space and return if was doing neither? Ask yourself this question. How does a craft go out of Earth's atmosphere and then have to readjust itself to land on an object moving at somewhere between 500-1040 MPH? What does it use for a break? How does it turn around to come back? Why do you trust a private company any more than any other kind? As NAZA found out it is much easier to pretend to do the impossible than it is to actually do it. NASA simply subcontracted the long-standing illusion for a much cheaper cost.

      @@kiwi_comanche most of it is being a good spotter. Reading winds, recon, being stealthy. The shooting part is the easy side of it all. The math is done with ballstic calculators, digital or analog (cards), kestrels for atmospherics, range finder ( or ranging reticle). Its not a ton of math but there is some. A lot of the theory goes out the window bc the hardest thing to judge is the wind.

    “My head is so vast, none would fit”
    Isn't that what they call in the trade a 'Snipers Dream'?
    All joking aside, its really inspiring to get first hand accounts of the stories of war. It really puts it into persepective. Thats not to say our life struggles are a walk in the park, Far from it. But it certainly makes you grateful that at least you're not being shot at.

    I mean, Ive never claimed to know much about shooting, but this is mind blowing to me! All the considerations, the physics, the equipment that goes into taking a shot - Entirely different than the simple “Aim. Fire” I imagined. 🤯 thanks for these interesting vids, sharing your knowledge and giving us a little insight into the things we’d never get to see otherwise.
