We have absolutely no quarrel with any faith anmd indeed, encourage men in our fraternity to be active in whatever faith they choose, whether that be Christianity, Judaism, Islam etc.
The guy in this film really has absolutely no clue whjat he is talking about...he is simply repeating the same tired old rumours that have been around for so long...usually started by men who have either been thrown out of Freemasonry, or who have applied and been rejected.

The American Scottish rite was founded in 1801 in Charleston, South Carolina, by a group of 11 men, 5 of whom were sephardic jews. These men were prominent in the slave trade and would later found the Southern secessionist movement in the same city decades later. South Carolina would be the first state to secede upon the election of Abraham Lincoln as President of the United States in 1860, kicking off the civil war. Sephardic jews were prominent in the Confederate intelligentsia and government, with Judah P Benjamin (Confederate secretary of war, secretary of finance, and attorney general) being the first jew to hold a cabinet position in North America. Charles Moise, a self-described “southerner of jewish persuasion” assisted Confederate politician, William Porcher Miles, in designing the Confederate battle flag. Moise specifically suggested that Miles make the flag look “less Christian” compared to his earliest designs. Near the war’s end, Lincoln would be assassinated by famous actor and freemason, John Wilkes Booth, while his Presidency would be handed over to another freemason by the name of Andrew Johnson. Scottish rite freemasonry would see continued representation in American political office, particularly in the administrations of Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman.

I made my way through the chairs fairly rapidly and advanced through the degrees headstrong - not fully knowing what I was getting into. It wasn’t until last year and discovering Christ and His Church that I was saved from that wretchedness. It is an easy trap for a young man to fall into, and while appearing harmless, is absolutely detrimental to your soul. The Devil masquerades an an angel of “Light,” and what is it that Masons seek again? I was involved in the AODA (ancient order of druids in America) which is a masonic druid organization, thanks to John Michael Greer. I was under the impression that it was all good up until I was virtually dismissed in my assessments of the world because of my status, and ultimately sensed that I was not welcome in the least bit, popping bubbles like a devils advocate I was, talking about the bible and economics, and then watching their reactions. I was a punk at heart and I did not fall in line with their demands or beliefs, they were warned. I see the world crumbling and see what's going wrong but we were not at all on the same page. It likely means that your group held very similar philosophical views and held an initiation that is very similar to the Freemasonic traditions. It makes sense because most occult organizations use the same degree systems with the challenges at the lodge doors and the back and forth discussions as a way to teach their lesson for new initiates. It’s an experiential initiation that leaves a lasting impression on most people.

Freemasonry is pervasive in any western democracy, specifically because Freemasonry was a major leader in the creation of western democracies. Basically all those attributes of the modern world that we regard as more humane than what came before are indebted, in large part, to Masonry.
Ironically, most religious denominations are hopelessly dependent for their very survival on the liberal principles promoted by Masonry. Christianity, having splintered into a thousand feuding factions needed to appeal to the secularists for protection against other denominations. Each of them, having started a nasty fight for leadership, became unable to finish what they started and unwilling to accept the consequences of their behavior. It's hilarious to watch them now complain as though they didn't do it to themselves.

Occultism is a vague word that covers a lot of areas. Occultism is more attractive when it's presented under the banner of "Sacred Teachings" -- which of course is heavily detailed through symbolism.
So the attraction is ancient teachings and symbols, along with gematria, which also reveals hidden codes behind everything. So using ciphers and learning to write in code is another part of the attraction.
All new age kind of practices make people believe they are "gods" and this leads to thinking that you are Wise and Initiated, while all the people going to church are merely children in kindergarten, not understanding the symbols and codes behind everything. It's demonic and it makes you think anyone without your sacred teachings is beneath you.
Masonry doesn't get into practices as much as Rosicrucianism does, so it's very common for Past Master Masons to become Rosicrucians to practice the occult arts. Not to say that Masons can't be practicing alchemists, but that's a rare thing in today's world.

Period. And if they then refuse to abandon that demonic organization, it is in fact their egos being somewhat involved as well as outright disobedience. The fact that true Christians can be deceived about it and still be true Christians, which they absolutely can, doesn't mean they would continue in it if they were where they really needed to be with God because if they were, God would be showing them the whole problem with it. Let's not exacerbate the problem by pretending God doesn't bring what's evil to the limelight here. My father became involved with it when we were young children. They even have a Masonic Bible that's a King James version. Must wait 20 lb. Anyway, He excelled quickly but it's because it was social more family oriented and Christian oriented in that particular chapter and that particular era. On the surface. It was also very family-orient ed. Then they ask him to commit and immoral act. 😡 I remember my father being sort of pale and he was tanned at the time for a couple of days or three or four. I found it later years but he went to his pastor and repented of the involvement and they prayed and he left the Masonic lodge and we moved quickly. Out of South Florida to North Florida. That huge family Bible went missing 😅

Thank you, father. I have a sort of question related to this; it’s about a friend who recently found Holy Orthodoxy, him and his family were catechumens for about a year in a small mission parish belonging to a canonical jurisdiction, and were then baptized during this year’s great lent. Since his first visit to the parish, he told me about where the mission is located and that sort of information, which is at the home of one of the founders who contacted the diocesan cathedral to solicitate the foundation of an Orthodox mission in his city and who remains until this day as a member of the Church alongside his family. All of this seemed great to me until he informed me more about the members of the parish, particularly about said founding member and ahis friend, both openly masons, even distinguished members of the local lodge, with all sorts of distinctively masonic symbols alongside figures/idols of different far-eastern religions, this same house has an improvised chapel at the top floor to celebrate the monthly divine liturgy. Now, inside the chapel proper there are no weird symbols or idols (except for a “host-holder” like the ones in the RCC), but he's still creeped out by the fact that there are elements of such different worlds under the same roof and fears that the mason has bad intentions (which I wouldn’t doubt).
So, trying to help, I advised him to speak directly to his priest, and after that he told me that the father said before anything else that masonry has nothing to do with the Church, and that it’s something this guy (the mason) keeps to himself, that even the father’s objective is for him to renounce masonry through the life of the Church.
My friend’s a little comforted by the plans the priest has shared with all the parishioners, which is to build an official chapel at a different location in the same city due to the mission’s growth. Nonetheless, by the passing of time this situation has taken its toll on him, he no longer knows what to do, especially because going to another parish isn’t an option since he lives in a Latin American country with very little Orthodox presence and doesn’t want his family and him to stop receiving the holy mysteries.
Finally, I too don’t know what else to do to help him, and I can especially understand his struggle because it was also very hard for me to find a Church when coming into Orthodoxy. Nor do I know if suggesting a talk with his bishop would be beneficial, after all, the bishop must have known about this situation for years now and doesn’t seem to have bothered him. ¿What would you advise, father?

    • @OrthodoxEthos
      @OrthodoxEthos  Před rokem +29

Tolerance for the gnostics in our midst will never call down the blessings of our Lord upon our works.
Jezebel and her fornications with idols was severely rejected by our Lord in the Revelation.
SO: one cannot remain “at peace” with this. He must pray fervently, ask God for discernment and take steps - with care - to root it out.
The bishop is responsible ultimately and if he can speak to him and do his due diligence in this way, this will be, for him, a great defense at the Judgement Seat.

Perhaps the Lord's great mercy in the West is the jurisdictional chaos amongst the canonical Orthodox, since this permits the discerning faithful not to stay under lax clergy.

If you are a Christian, you know that going to church and praying before meals is not what makes a Christian. What makes a Christian ? It’s the belief that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation which is the only path to heaven. All other beliefs lead to hell. This is the standard minimum test of Christianity.
As you have already said, the lodge accepts all faiths, just a belief in any deity is required. French Freemasonry allows atheists as well.
As you have also said, the
Lodge opens and closes in prayer. In your example the lodge prays to The Great Architect of the Universe AkA anyone you like.
Now try to go to lodge opening and closing lodge with a prayer in the name of Jesus.
You will find this is a violation of you lodge charter.
So if the Bible says that those who pray to god and do not acknowledge Jesus, are praying to demons, what does that say about freemasonry?

    Saint Matthew 19:23-30
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?”
Jesus looked at them and said, “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
Then Peter said to him in reply, “We have given up everything and followed you. What will there be for us?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you that you who have followed me, in the new age, when the Son of Man is seated on his throne of glory, will yourselves sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will receive a hundred times more, and will inherit eternal life.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.

gnosis (-g·no·sis): From Greek γνῶσις. Knowledge.
The higher meaning of Gnosis is knowledge from experience, especially experience of divinity or that which is beyond the five senses. The word Gnosis does not refer to knowledge that we are told or believe in. Gnosis is conscious, experiential knowledge, not merely intellectual or conceptual knowledge, belief, or theory. This term is synonymous with the Hebrew דעת "da'ath," the Arabic ma'rifah, the Tibetan rigpa (knowing), and the Sanskrit "jna."
Gnosis can also refer to the tradition that embodies the core wisdom or knowledge of humanity, although in the physical world it has not been known by that name, but instead has adopted varying appearances according to culture, time, and place.
The Greek word Gnosis (γνῶσις) implies a type of knowledge that is derived from experience, and encompasses the whole of a person. That is, it is genuine knowledge of the truth. Reality, truth, does not fit neatly into a concept, dogma, or theory, thus genuine Gnosis must also be something that one must experience. Personal experience is not transmissible in conceptual terms; a concept is merely an idea, and experience is far more than an idea. In other words, real Gnosis is an experience that defies conceptualization, belief, or any attempt to convey it. To understand it, one must experience it. This is why real spirituality is based on one's own effort to experience the truth, and the method to reach that experience is primarily practical.
Nonetheless, in order to understand what we experience, we must study the experiences of others. For this, we prefer to rely on those who have proven the qualities we wish to embody ourselves: profound love for all beings, brilliant intelligence, and radiant joy. As such, we rely on the greatest human beings and their legacies, in every field of understanding: philosophy, science, art, and religion.
The Greek word Gnosis refers to the knowledge acquired through the experience of the awakened consciousness, as opposed to knowledge that we are told or might believe. Genuine Gnosis is the knowledge universal to all humanity that frees the consciousness from suffering. Gnosis - by whatever name in history or culture - is conscious, experiential knowledge, not merely intellectual or conceptual knowledge, belief or theory. The Gnostic student seeks to acquire their own direct experience of the light (the Truth) by means of awakening the consciousness and eliminating obscurations to perception. The method to accomplish this task has been called:
    Gnosis (Greek) knowledge
    Jnana (Sanskrit): knowledge
    Daath (Hebrew): knowledge
Dharma (Sanskrit): righteousness, law, truth, teaching
    Torah (Hebrew): teaching, instruction, law
...and many other names. By comparing all of these ancient teachings, we can see that all religious forms have in their heart a science of Gnosis: a method to arrive at personal knowledge of the Truth.

They continue; they are re-dressed with new forms." - Samael Aun Weor

It is mind boggling that such misinformation about Freemasonry is still sprouted - and in this instance by a fellow member of the clergy . Have his church removed the texts of not spreading false witness that I find in my own - and every other bible ? I am a member of the clergy myself and I stand ashamed at this misrepresentation.
Every candidate to Freemasonry is clearly, and expressly instructed to "follow the dictates of your own religion, for therein will you find the obligations that you owe to God, your neighbour and yourself" The initiation manuals with this text are freely available on the internet, in any of the more than 40 masonic museums spread over the world, or in rituals commonly available (Amazon at $8)
In my own lodge we have Anglicans, Dutch Reformed, Catholic, Liberal Catholics, a Hindu pharmacist, a Russian orthodox attorney - as a typical example. Does this sound like a satanist gnostic group ? - and by the way - "Satanist-Gnostic" is a macabre contradiction of terms - like dry water, or forward reversing - what in logic's name does it mean ?
Freemasonry is not a religion, does not aim to be an alternative or a substitute for a religion, it has no saviour, profess no religious dogma except for sound morals derived from the Bible itself, (and to be found in the Holy Scriptures of all other religions), it has no liturgy, do not allow religion to be discussed at its meetings but is a pure philosophy aimed at moral, ethical and personal growth, It is a philosophy veiled in Allegory (or parable _ and clothed in symbol. In the New Testament it is said of Jesus, : " He taught in parables, and without parables taught he nothing"
It is so sad that those not properly educated in Hermeneutics , i.e. the interpretation of documents, ancient and world history and philosophy , ignorance lead to such misrepresentation.
American and Anglo-Saxon Freemasonry's slogan is "to make good men better" and that of the Continental variety of the various Masonic Grand councils, "For the Improvement of humanity: or "To build a temple for humanity" That is achieved by the individual Mason homing himself as a perfect building block for the temple, or society
The Satanic hoax, perpetrated by Leo Taxil - an expelled Freemason, has been made public, by Taxil's own admission more than 140 years ago ( Google "The Taxil hoax" for yourself ) - yet the uninformed, the unscrupulous fundamentalist, and especially those of authoritarian ilk, keep perpetuating the story

It's significant to distinguish between the way Masonry and Rosicrusianism understand masculine and feminine, and the way the Church does. Because one might think the rosy cross is essentially an affirmation of the natural sexual order, but it is not. The Gnostic heresy is opposed to the natural order of male and female, created in God's image to share a single nature in separate persons and together generating the child of like nature in a threefold family unit. Instead the twofold combination of the masculine and feminine elements in the rosy cross expresses a unitary divine androgynous state, where one being has equal amounts of both, and hence transcends the need for relationship with the other to achieve wholeness, and also dispenses with fertility and reproduction as sinful aspects of the material world.

This is the cover of the book Architects of Deception by Juri Lina.
Above the altar is seen the Star of David, sometimes the red five-pointed star with a G in the centre. The G stands for the God of the freemasons, Jahbulon. This is a compound of the names of three gods: Yahweh of Israel, Baal of Canaan (or Bel of Babylon) and the Egyptian On (another name for the god of death Osiris). The last two are also called upon at black magic and Satanist ceremonies. The G officially stands for Geometry. Only upon attaining a high degree is the freemason informed that the Great Architect of the Universe is called Jahbulon. In the degree called the Holy Royal Arch (13th), the appearance of the masonic god Jahbulon is revealed. He has a spider's body and three heads - that of a cat, a toad, and a human head. In this way the father god, the god of the heavens and the god of death were united
In Louis Breton's and J. Collin de Plancy's "Dictionnaire Infernal" (Paris, 1863), Jahbulon is shown as the demon Bael. The freemasons worship a horrible monster
The English researcher Stephen Knight interviewed 57 freemasons who had been "elevated to the Holy Royal Arch", that is had as master masons gone through the rite where they were taught the secret of Jahbulon, god of freemasons. These high-ranking free-masons were happy to answer Knight's critical questions until he asked: "What about Jahbulon?" Then the situation suddenly became tense. They wanted to change the subject, stop the interview or told embarrassing lies (Stephen Knight, "The Brotherhood: The Secret World of the freemasons", London, 1983, pp. 237-240). This is under- standable. Jahbulon is hardly a god, which one openly wishes to admit to worshipping

The promise to make the descendents of Ishmael into a great multitude doesn't mean Islam. Even if it were, God loves Moslems and wants them to come to a knowledge of Christ.

All the Arabs and black people of Africa and Middle and far East deny Jesus is the Son of GOD and are pagans doomed to slaughter when Jesus returns.
All Muslims try to get to Mecca to kiss the black stone they call allah and GOD says kill all who kissed the black stone.
Ishmael has maybe 1.9 billion descendants or 24% of total population by now so GOD's words were true.

There were and are many many Arabic Christians.
They were very poorly treated for centuries and almost eliminated by the recent wars, but many fled to other countries. Wikipedia has a decent article. Al Harith, Arethas, is a famous martyr, with 4299 others!

This is basically the way that the church has seen the pope for 1000 years: as one protesting and refusing to listen to the Church. He was the model which protestants followed. In his image they were fashioned.

@@OrthodoxEthos But wasn't the original Doctrine of The Roman Patriarch to be first among equals? The Western Perspective is a group of Bishops are the ones who protested and schism'd from the Authority of The Church, both sides stood with pride when excommunicating eachother, but in the end it's The East who rebelled against the God-Given Authority of the Messianic State's Pontiff. The East denied Romans 13:1, in just the same way Luther did, by Protesting The Church's Holy Patriarch... I believe it's not without good reason, however I still believe Catholics & Orthodox must one day be joined together again in the ancient ethos and reunified as The One Holy Orthodox Catholic Church, The One Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ, one day.

Peter was never bishop of Rome. If he were, why did Paul need to write an epistle to the Romans? Likewise, the "papal supremacy" heresy in invalidated when you consider that at the Council of Jerusalem, as is told in the Book of Acts, was led by James and not Peter. @@Thomas_Roland
When you see the countless heresies and scandals that have from the Roman Catholics over the centuries, it's clear that the gates of hell have prevailed against it. Thus, it cannot be Christ's Church.

I judge Gnosticism according to the texts themselves. I have only read the Valentinian school's texts, but the texts still claim that Jesus died for the sins of the world. The sacrifice revolves to them, around Jesus defeating Satan or the "Demiurge" by taking on human flesh uncorrupted by the Demiurge because he only has dominion over the flesh through cohabitation due to the sin of adam and eve. So Jesus took on flesh that was uncorrupt, of uncorrupt matter, and thus His divinity worked with his body rather than his body worked against His divinity. The Gnostic idea was that yes that spirit within us is "God" but our bodies which are corrupted, keep us from union with the Trinity unless they come to the knowledge of God (Gnosis) and thus we can transcend our corrupted nature to be one with God. The Gnostic view is that we are in the image of God, but the matter of the image is corrupted, which is why there is sin and death.
If the Gnostics ended up seeking "personal enlightenment" without regard to sin, they ended up going against their own texts. Their texts seem to attempt to explain the problem of Satan in the NT being a separate deity who is God's enemy, versus the Jewish understanding that Satan is a servant of God
