  • The first installment in the series 'Our Heroes' focuses on a giant of the Gay Rights Movement, Fred Sargeant.
In 2022 LGB Alliance embarked on a series of interviews with pioneers of the gay rights movement.
These films are intended to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who made our freedom possible.

I am a couple of years older than Fred Sargeant and recognise so very much of what he explains in this video. He was much braver than me but I thank him so much for what he did then and for what he is doing now to set the record to rights. Thank you, Fred, and thank you LGB Alliance.

Interesting, informative and sheds light on the reality of what happened at Stonewall. Well done LGB Alliance!

Absolutely brilliant. While watching I looked over at my LGB Alliance wrist band that Fred supplied the LGB Alliance conference with last year and felt extra proud. May the revival of the LGB movement get stronger and prouder and take back what was fought for and won from the violent charlatans who stole it with lies and stealth.

Absolutely wonderful idea to compile a video record of our history with the iconic representatives like Fred. I can't help but think of all the amazing men and women who may be forgotten and especially all the men we lost to that unmentionalble disease. Many of them we will never know or have record of their contribution to our movement. Work fast before we lose anymore, please.

Fred is such an inspiring man, so brave and conscientious in the early days and continues to be so now. I happily follow him on twitter and am so honoured he followed me back on facebook! Long may he continue to lead us by example ❤
