These two ladies nailed it. As a gay man I'm fed up of being linked to the TQIA+ because I don't agree with it nor do I believe any of it, these gender extremists are doing so much damage to LGB people. We need to start separate the LGB from the TQIA+ now as they mean very different things and should never have been linked together.

I have very little sympathy for them. So much of it when it comes to kids is fashion, social insecurity and peer group deference. You'll notice that these profoundly personal existential concerns about 'personal identity' revolve around delighting in-- or just needing and enjoying-- playing around, socially transgressing and experimenting with gendered fashions. They don't just become women-- they become cartoons and stereotypes of women. It's all fashion, cosplaying. I wish more wise elders in education, the arts and entertainment (as that's so important for teenagers and 20-somethings) would simply tell them 'wear what you want, dress how you want, whenever you want in your private life-- you're still a boy/girl'. It's no more deep rooted an issue than that. It's embarrassing how over-processed such half-baked juvenilia has gotten, with fully grown adults validating, empowering and feeding it all.

the situation with the dating apps is the most insidious - that lesbians are being banned from the apps if they don't want to include a man who identifies as a lesbian in their dating pool.

I'm a gay man who uses a particular dating app for gay and bisexual men. There are around 40 different genders to choose from. It's flooded with aggressive transgender people who don't like taking no for an answer. Straight women are allowed to join the app. As are lesbians for some reason (I've never seen a lesbian on there but I assume they added it in case lesbians wanted to find trans-women. Which no lesbian does).

I'm a 60 something gay male and like Kate said as a result of my obsession with non masculine interests as a child if I was that age now I would be encouraged to change sex and like her I would have jumped at it . This would have been a big mistake.

My nephew till age 6 until he started school liked to put make up, play kitchen etc. He was pretending to be adult and was doing things adults in his surrounding were doing. So what I should done as only functional male in a family( other 2 spent their days filling booze in themselves and we kept child as far as possible from them)? Should I force him into playing ball, smack him? No we just left him alone to be a child and do what ever he wants. When he started school he started to have interest in sport, with time he showed more interest in male things. It is called growing up. Today he is adult and expecting a child in December.
My younger nephew was total opposite, cars, sports, bikes all the male things. Guess what, he says he is bisexual but had more guys than girls..
My father's cousin is in his 60ties and still today he is flamboyant as hell, never had interest in male stuff, he liked to draw, to make all kinds of drawings for dresses, houses, he liked to sew, to cook, his father helped him by smacking him, beating the crap out of him, sending him to military school to make a man out of him. Disscusing him was taboo in a family until the war, when we all were victims and survivors of ethnical cleansing and after that we who were kids back then and went thru hell, we had our own set of rules growing up simply saying screw the world, I will live my life as I want.
So back in 2005 I broke family drama dating a girl who was transexual and after 5 years of relationship was approved hormonal therapy after 6 years in therapy. Needed 6 more to raise money, get visa etc. So I had to break the news to my family. My dad who is an alcholic saw that as an excuse to get drunk coz I am a fag%ot. My brother who killed himself in 2016 suffered from complex PTSD coz he was 16 when he ended up in concentration camp, to him it was hilarious and he told me bro life is short live it as you wish. my mum went to church to pray away a devil..
6 years later my 16 year old cousin tried suic%ide coz of strict laws in our country was shifted in mental hospital, 8 years later gender dysphoria is diagnosis and new drama unfolds. Uncle almost killed his own child even thou signs were there whole time. Me and her siblings took her out and traveled to Ireland where her siblings lived, went to UK to LGBT center to get some help, infos and support coz LGBT movement in our country was in diapers and I was one of the organizatore of first pride back in 2002 and we had no transsexual support, we hardly had gay rights and I broke up with my ex few years earlier and it was messy break up..
When my dad's cousine found out wth is going on with last for last 6 to 9 years he was speechless coz he had no clue and very little contact coz he was always like a family outcast coz his father made him one and war kinda displaced us all for some time. He took my cousine in and helped her with everything. With time we started to spoke found out he is gay and thru what bullshit he had to go back in 70ties, 80ties, 90ties were war years and for guy like him in a country which replaced communism with borderline clerical fascism, we'll figure out, he is lucky he survived. In coming years he was more of a father to me than my father ever was and I met him and got to know him when I already was in my 20ties.
I was always neutral same interests in male and female stuff and today I date men, women, trans men and trans women I am attracted to a person and open for everything.
And I practically raised both of my nephews and never ever wanted to force them into male stuff if they had no interests for it. Kids needs to be left alone to do things they like and enjoy. It is part of growing up, eventually they will figure stuff out, forcing kids into things never ends good...

From taking the guns and defend country when they are hardly 16 to convincing them they are opposite gender. And then they grow up and see it was mistake.
It would be mistake coz he is man, male who as child had no interest in male stuff, like maybe sports and activities which are reserved for boys. He grew up, went thru puberty and realised he is gay. Like many before and after him. USA, Canada, UK, Australia are currently only countries which transition kids and teens without even be diagnosed with gender dysphoria. In my country person must be minimals 14 with such thoughts to be Abel to enter psychiatric therapy and evaluation. Whole process lasts for 6 years and they are adults by time they get diagnosis. Very little number actually have gender dysphoria, others are gays/lesbians or have certain mental conditions, like my friend who had gender dysphoria phases with psychotic phases since he was 13. By the age of 18 would have sex with men than end up bashing them, would join hare Krishna or at one point wanted to do facial surgery to be Asian to become true Buddhist. By the age of 20 was sure he talks to God, then aliens, followed by gender dysphoria phase. Ended up as schizophrenic. This what is going on on west is insanity. My sister grew up with 2 older brothers, till puberty was a tomboy, had no dolls, no Barbie's, no dresses, she would just take my clothes coz we are 2 years apart, chased ball with us, would be in fights, and if we would be kids today in west world, she probably would be convinced to transition and it would be mistake. Today she is mother of 3... Around age 13 hormones kicked in, dresses, make up, boy band posters and started to hang with girls..kids and teens need to be left to be kids and have developing stages and figure things out on their own and their terms, when they are rdy not when and coz someone tells them oh you are this or that..
And that is why it would be mistake for him too if he was a kid today in west world... He would do it, become teen start to questioning, become adult and realise mistake such can't be fixed...especially if medical transition was done. Those choices only person can make for themselves and no one else and to make such choices and decisions person must be an adult and decide how far they chose to go with it..if you need to be adult for tattoo, to drink, to join army and go to war, to get married, then you must be an adult to make decisions about transition...

Trans people have been quietly changing since it was possible.
First English trans male to female was a spitfire pilot and POW of the Germans.
Could not change sex male to female because it was illegal to remove healthy testes. Had to find a young almost qualified doctor to quietly remove his testes, so that Harold Gillies could finish the work. That young doctor was actually a female to male trans.
As far as I can find out, removing testes was illegal because religious leaders and wealthy men, had poor choir boys with spectacular voices, castrated, before puberty, so that they retained their prepuberty voices for life and could be shown off to VIPs.
The best known surgeon for early trans work was the 2nd most famous surgeon for plastic surgery, for war wounds, in WW2. He began the plastic surgery research in WW1.
His name was Sir Harold Gillies.
His cousin was the most famous burns and wounds surgeon of the RAF. Sir Archie McIndoe.
He met and knew these people and believed in them. The publicity over this has gone mad. Mainly because of the attacks on trans people. Most people have never met a trans person, living a normal, quiet life.
I urge you to find out about Joy/Jonathan Ferguson of the ATA in WW2. The only change to his life after the final work, is his pay went up, because in the civil service, in the 50's, men were paid more for doing the same job.
Before you hysterically rant, read Jan Morris' book - beautifully, as ever, written, about her eventual trans change from being James. The book is CONUNDRUMS.

Do you not know a surprising, for you, apparently, 1 in 200 babies, .5% of babies are born with gen itals that are a confusing mix?
In the old days, doctors would decide which sex would be less of a major problem as an adult, (usually female), and work was done early, secretly, and parents were advised not to tell children. So they never knew - but many did not feel comfortable in the sex assigned to them by a doctor, who carved them up to make them 'normal.' Policy in most 1st world countries now, is not to operate, but let them develop normally, visit psychs, and utimately choose what they feel they are as they approach puberty.
They used to be called intersex. I believe there is a new term favoured now.
Finally we see the LGB community speak up. We fought so hard along side the LGB community to be recognized and treated as equally as our heterosexual community. I feel the remaining alphabet community has high jacked the LGB community and are bullying and cramming down our throats to conform to their ideology. Their aggressiveness has done nothing but alienate me. That is my opinion, I am not sure if others feel the same.

And honestly if I was born like 10 years later I would probably we confused because I was a feminine kid I still have some feminine traits and that’s okay. If we didn’t force stereotypes on men and woman then maybe this wouldn’t of happend. Because gender roles made people think of u know I like this I might be a girl or whatever when it’s okay to be a boy and like feminine things and to be a girl and like masculine things. Because as a society we choice was was masculine and feminine and it’s okay that it doesn’t align with everyone. The issue is when people think because they don’t fit into what a “stereotypical woman/man” that they aren’t when they are and should try to find love in that and should be able to embrace there femininity or masculinity without people pushing identity politics on them. Not to mention men of the past did show off femininity and woman should of been able to do the same.
I know im ranting so what im trying to say is. We the younger gay/bi/lesbian people didn’t choice for any of this. And the older ones that don’t agree with it have split off

One can be transexual without being transgender. A sex change is actually changing your genitals and removing reproductive organs. Most transgender people never do that because it's expensive, and society doesn't exactly see them as employable in high numbers.

Straight female here. During early puberty I too would have jumped at the chance to be one of the boys. Many young women are vulnerable
I grew up with a friend who was adamant that she was a boy. I remember one morning seeing her mum literally dragging her to school. She was screaming, shouting, crying and kicking, all because she was wearing a skirt but wanted to wear trousers. She called herself a 'boy' and did the stereotypical boy stuff (as did I, incidentally). She hated being a girl.
Then puberty hit and so too did her change of attitude. She is now one of the most feminine (stereotypical again) people I know. Married to a man and with 2 beautiful children.
I have no issue with anyone living the life they want, choose or need to live, but pre pubescent children change drastically, as do their hormones. Let's keep the little ones innocent. Teach them about self identity but keep sex (as in intercourse) preferences out of it.

As a young girl in the 70s being abused in sunday school along with other girls I desperately wished to be a boy, and told people I wanted to be a boy. I didn't know then that bad things happen to boys too. My mum didn't believe me so I felt very alone and would have been so vulnerable to being taken aside the way you describe. Now my children are my world and I'm thankful that becoming a boy wasn't an option back then
Oftentimes it is childhood trauma or trauma in general at the root of even homosexual attractions. If everyone could have their actual issues addressed we wouldn’t be in all this mess with trans hysterics towards others for misgendering them & pedos wanting to be be called MAPs.

LGB has been around for a long time and they interact with heterosexual people without issues. They don’t have rules the rest of us have to follow. Basically it’s who you choose as a partner. This new identify as you wish group is wanting people to call them what they choose to identify as. If you go to Starbucks and call someone who looks like a woman Miss they get aggressive for an honest mistake. You can’t always tell what someone identifies as. They could nicely say I prefer mister. There is a lot of anger regarding people using the wrong pronouns. The part I really have is involving children to label themselves. Therefore you asking young children do you want to be a boy or girl. I don’t believe a young child can make that decision they need to learn the differences and grow to adulthood. A child may change their mind several times as they grow and experience different feelings and emotions. Young children taking hormones or having surgery worries me. What if they grow to regret their decision and feel anger or resentment to the adults in their life that allowed it. Starting children on hormones before they reach puberty for a better outcome is to young IMO. Eleven year old children don’t have the rational thinking of the long term outcome. This stirs up a lot of controversy. Trying to force people that this is the best thing effects families with children. It bothers me that men who haven’t had surgery using restrooms with young girls. How do I know it’s not some child predator dressing as a woman to use a girl’s restroom, changing room or shower. I’m a grandma of young grandchildren and this worries me. The same thing can go for women dressing as men.
I wish Angela Ripon would stop saying ...toxicity on both sides, because I have only seen toxicity on the TRA's side, The LGBA have a different opinion, but it seems that is not allowed, The TRA's won't engage in talks just shout abuse and try to shut everyon else down, they are the toxic side.
