I was on Tumblr for over ten years, every word of this is true, it feels foolish now, but every word of it was believed. I was told I could be only sexuality attracted to women and romantically only date men (because of internalized homophobia I know now). I considered myself bisexual, because I was told I was. Despite only sexually into women and avoiding sex with men for years. I was also convinced I was nb, then a man because I desired to wear comfortable clothes, didn't want to shave or wear makeup and had PCOS. Being fluid was the game to be liked and approved off. Admitting being a normal lesbian butch woman was outdated, wasn't attractive and openly closed myself off to men and say I would not conform. It was insidious and evil.
I am convinced that Tumblr was infested with CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS and mossad assets posing as teens in order to spread this toxic ideology. This has been planned since before I was born and I'm 60. Back in the '80s, my intuition was that drug culture was manufactured by the CIA to destroy the New Left and 2nd wave Feminism. Now a book has been written on this very subject based on FOIA requests.
I am so glad there was no social media when I was a kid. Its a dangerous trap.
The "split attraction model" was my way as a young gay male of negotiating with my desire... i thought if I just want to shag lads rather than falling in love with them, then perhaps there was a way to maintain a more heterosexual-looking life.
I grew out of it.
It seems that these people have a thousand different ways of avoiding being labelled gay or lesbian. Heartbreaking.
Internalized homophobia plays a huge part. They think it's better to have a son than a lesbian daughter, or better to have a daughter then a gay son.
@@gamer1X12 Yes! The chief executive of Mermaids (Suzie Green), the UKs most influential "trans youth" charity, admits as much in her Ted talk -- she had an effeminate son and a homophobic husband, so she solved the problem by taking her son to Thailand to be castrated. And this is supposedly "affirmative care".
Reminds me of the gay tea room trade: the most closety guys caught there. And the Lesbian equivalent is the pick up bar scene.
You could technically find a closeted lesbian who wants a heterosexual relationship as well. Both of you can let the other have fun with the other gender. See what works.
@@yol_n It's not same-gender attraction, it's same sex attraction. So we already know what works, "technically" or not.
LGB and TQ seem clearly different groups at least looking from the outside in
That's b/c they are. LGB is a sexual orientation based on the material reality of sex whereas T is an 'identity' based on the invented and incoherent 'gender identity' and no material reality that reifies old stereotypes. 'Trans' is misogynist and homophobic to its core.
When this all comes tumbling down, employees of Cosmedicare and the like will hopefully be unable to hide from the harm they've caused and will in the future be unemployable in health-care or anywhere near young people. We have the video receipts.
CLASS ACTION.LAWSUITS ARE A COMING SOON!!!
That was a terrific connect-the-dots presentation. I was unaware of the “alt-right to trans” phenomenon. One aspect that often gets overlooked is how profoundly American gender identity ideology is: the deep individualism, the starry-eyed belief that anything is possible. It applies to Californian New Agers right through to Q-Anon believing evangelicals.
I'd like to know more about the alt-right to trans thing - this was the first I'd heard of it too.
@@lucidee Yes, I feel like there could be a parallel presentation on how boys and young men have been impacted which would include exploring this a lot more and Transmaxxers, who also come a deeply misogynistic subculture where they are prey to perverts and paedophiles. It also makes me wonder about how young, misogynistic male "transbians" have infiltrated and taken control of so many left-wing political parties and institutions, enabled by the "inclusive" young women brainwashed on Tumblr, TikTok, etc.
@@lucidee Magdalen Burns did a video critiquing a vid made by a MGTOW / bitter misogynistic guy that she poo-poohed as delusional, but I thought it was quite devious & ingenious. His video was proposing that MRAs should support gender identity ideology b/c then men can claim they are trans in order to take positions of power away from women. It was the only vid by Magdalen that I've seen with which I've disagreed. I think she underestimated how successful such a "campaign" could be. I also saw Bret Weinstein interviewing a female reporter who had covered both Antifa & the Proud Boys, & she said there were trans "women" in the Proud Boys, which surprised her. It didn't surprise me b/c I'd seen Magdalen's video which featured the MGTOW video. It was interesting too, that she said that as individuals, members of both groups could be polite and non-threatening to her, but when other members of their group were around, that's when they become violent & dangerous. So we have a society of extremists on both sides who are driven by a desire to be part of a tribe, a feeling they are good and anyone who is against them is evil, and plain old mob mentality. This partisanshit, tribalism, demonizing Americans who believe differently, & increasing violence is going to destroy the U.S.
@JonathanMaze 💯! You hit the nail on the head.
@@DonnaBrooks Thank you! I'll see if I can find these videos. It makes sense that those of a totalitarian mentality would work together to undermine democracy, freedom of speech and civil discourse.
You should talk about the role of yaoi, yuri, and fanfiction in the trans movement. It plays a large role in why a lot of girls and women transition.
The trans crowd in general is obsessed with anime. I am guessing its the autism connection but it would be interesting to see what the link is psychologically
Why is it illegal to show porn to a miner? Because of the damage it does to the miner.
Porn addiction in the flavor of Yaoi/yuri/fandom is sexual abuse of miners. Back in the 2010’s on tumblr no one knew enough to tell miners that they are being sexually abused by the internet.
@@vegetablearian_ back then though it wasn't really option. Now trans is constantly marketed to young girls
We had that in but cut it due to timing 😅😂
It has nothing to do with this, the source is the feminism, all of this gender nonsense are feminist ideas, all this began because feminism got out of control and became radical and misandric and also misogynistic, if being a man is bad, then they'll be lesbians, because only that way they can scape of the hate you put on them only for being men, it's on you to solve this problem
This was SO interesting, relishing the chance to to try and take it all in again!
I watch the guy in the Yuri fandom (put a finger down guy) literally be convinced into transitioning by his largely female fan base/followers. He used to be a I'm just a straight guy who likes Yuri and girly stuff (the Yuri he liked is mainly watched by men, it is made for men) women either prefer Yaoi or the few Yuri made by women for women. He's such a typical man that it's hilarious.
It's so harrowing. It is simply not possible for humans to change sex. The human body is not designed to do it.
The human body is not designed, period. Maybe you meant to say that it has not *evolved* to change sex (unlike some hermaphrodite non-human animal speacies).
@@gharbadthewhoa2315 Yes, fair comment.
@@Zorg2006 hahhahah thanks :))
Thank you for this! I’ve been saying for years now that the “translesbian” crowd looks and behaves an awful lot like incels
I can't believe it, people like you are the source of this problem, you are calling them incels, that's misandric, misandry and feminism are the source of transbians, change yourself.
@@yurihime3730 Lmfao what? The evidence points to transbians being sexually frustrated males.
@@transwomenaremale and why are they sexually frustrated? Also even if they were sexually frustrated, most men won't change their gender, this is the direct outcome of feminism and misandry, feminism put hate on them and opened the door to them, also since radical feminist feel joy of men deprived of masculinity, they didn't care at the beginning, it's now when got out of control when they began with this movement
@@yurihime3730 they’re sexually frustrated because for the most part they’re creepy and have no social skills.

Thank you. These clinics should have been questioning WHY so many of these girls want to transition. Simply: sexism and Lesbophobia. But on a more complex level you spelled it out so clearly all the stressful forces at work against teenage girls and stressful events.
I learned alot where all this nonsense came from....
Very interesting and important lecture! Thank you LGB Alliance!
OMG all these identities have about as much validity as chakras and auras. It’s all absolute nonsense.
Chakras and auras are for real, unlike these idiotic teenage identities that we are somehow required to pretend are relevant and appropriate, noone is forcing you to see auras or pretend you do.
As a post-menopausal woman I know more than I wanted to about asexuality, and before that I could have been called demisexual because I preferred to get to know people before sleeping with them. Like every person in a romcom. It doesn’t mean I need a flag or label. It certainly doesn’t mean young people identifying as asexual etc should always accept that as an identity instead of questioning where this lack of desire comes from. Desire is, believe it or not, a wonderful thing when someone or something (like online p**n) isn’t pressuring you into it.
@@Adulthumanfemale84 didn’t say it was, but feeling pressured into sex by porn is a bad thing.
Maybe but as an asexual myself I can attest that I've always been this way. Porn and pressure doesn't come into it. I feel the same way about everybody as lesbians feel about men and gay men feel about women. No attraction, even a deep visceral revulsion at the thought of someone having sex with me and I'm quite happy about it. It's less stress for me. No worrying about getting pregnant and I never want children either so no need for expensive adoption or IVF either. I still want romantic love even though some asexuals are also aromantic. I just want all the affection and desire in a relationship barring sexual desire and actions. Think Disney movie, shoujo manga, or clean romcom. I kinda look at male and female genitals that aren't my own and kinda get sick when I think of all the fluids and bacteria, same with other people's "holes". When I was younger I wished I could feel sexual attraction because I felt FOMO but then I realized that a cute boy calling me sweetie gave me several times more joy than the thought of climaxing. In my fantasies I loved it when I thought of boys hugging and cuddling with me but all the joy evaporated when I tried to force myself to think of sex in relation to me. Think of a lesbian having fun fantasizing about women and then feeling the joy evaporate when they try to change the imaginary woman's figure into a man's. I hope I could illustrate my point well. If not then I'm always open to discussion.
@@allstarsreviewers2278 thank you, I do have a better picture now. I hope there are others who can give you romantic love without sexual expectation.
@@littlecatfeet9064 Thank you so much! Have a great and happy life!
@bastet owl I confess I was laughing during the listing of all the varied (non) sexualities - they seem to me to be simply new labels for perfectly normal ways of being. I think the adults in their lives need to talk to them more about relationships (not just sex), since, for example, not being attracted to someone until you get to know them doesn't need a label, it's just normal. Or at least it used to be. Ditto, being attracted to someone until you get to know them. Just so incredibly normal. I'm generally anti-label. For example, at the moment I'm not interested in being in a relationship or in sex, but I just think of it as how I am right now, not as an identity distinct from periods of my life when that wasn't the case. I don't think teen girls are stupid, but I do think that labelling oneself can be extremely limiting.
I read a post on Tumblr the other day (tumblr user whortleberry posted it) about how the young lesbians who are writing fanfiction about male characters and gay male dynamics, are sort of dissociating or avoiding thinking about their sexuality as lesbian.
Helen Joyce has written stuff about the women writing and reading fanfic, but more about the straight women, and I think it'd be interesting to explore the lesbians engaging mostly with a gay male sexual imaginary, thinking about sex in terms of male-style ejaculation, top/bottom dynamics etc.
And I think Kathleen Stock should be on that panel, who better to talk about engaging and immersing in fiction as healthy/dissociative/avoidant/somewhere in between?
Really great summary, thanks 👍🏼
This is the tip of the iceberg.
Agreed. I really wish that someone would do a deep-dive into the controversy behind the dual partial ownership of Tumblr and Planned Parenthood and the direct influence on the ideological stance promulgated on Tumblr, then all other social media networks. Hell, maybe I'll just do it myself.
@@lidahall5928 Go for it. The media isn't listening, it's up to us now. X
Ah that was incredible! Well done girls!
Thank you! I wish I was able to attend this outstanding conference. I am so touched by every panel posted. I feel the urge to weep simply because of shared experience and the understanding which stems from that.
Super talk! Parents seem often to defer to their children on "trans rights" because they assume it's a new social development on which the younger generation knows best and which does not have much impact on the whole of society.
I remember a time when if a kid wanted to be girly we would just give him a dress and let he play inside our home a little. It wasnt anything out of the ordinary. When he became an adult he would see whats best for him without anyone telling him what to think. Nowadays parents really want to make their 10 year old go through surgery, gives me shivers 🤪
I do worry about this current youth obsession with labels, down to every single minute preference relating to dating and sex. These are all normal things that young people explore, they go through phases and eventually figure out their preferences but there was no need for specific labels that only limit what's possible. sometimes you discover you like things you didn't think you would, by holding close to a certain label it could cause you to limit your potential.
Thanks Shay and Hannah for a really interesting presentation.
This is so sad what's going on with lesbians. I'm in america and it's gotten very bad here. You can't even have an opinion or state your feelings. I have transgender woman writing me on dating apps with male genitalia. I feel if a straight man dared to do that they would be ostrasized. It's really unfair. I won't be silenced
Men were being forced to date trans woman.
If they rejected they were labelled as "transphobic" by LGBTQ+
As you guys are now attacked by them , you might understand a bit.
First they made trans man , trans woman
Second: Then they labelled "cis", lesbian gays started using it to show support.
Their Third plan: trans gay trans lesbian . Whatever the crap it is.

49:39 This was what I did in high school. I wasn’t on TikTok or tumblr and I lived so remotely where I grew up that I had no way of knowing there was an entire culture of other girls starving themselves to escape their femininity. I was definitely restricting to eliminate my curves. It’s healing (although sad, a bit) to hear this now. It was such a huge mental health burden back then and I’ve carried that with me a long time. It helps to hear it out loud. If I had had access to groups that encouraged this behavior, who knows how far I would’ve gone. Teenage girls are highly, highly susceptible to influence- especially when something plays on their body insecurities.
Why does Infinite Jest seem so apt in this context? The biggest self-spanking-it cult in recent lit.
Down the rabbit hole...
@@DEWwords Infinite Jest was published in 1996. Hardly recent. I imagine you've not read it, or any of his other work? It's the opposite of self-spanking: it argues for humanism and warns against, among other things, an ironic cultural trend that promotes multiple forms of dishonesty. It has the reputation of being a PoMo novel but it's no more difficult than Ulysses or Gravity's Rainbow and it's a lot funnier. If DFW were alive today I doubt he would be supporting gender ideology.

"Having so much gender that it can not be contained."
??? What?!
It seems to me that in these contexts "gender" is just a codeword for soul, but... confused, because it still must somehow be about sex to justify the use of the word.
This is heartbreaking. I wish I could get my teenage daughter who thinks she’s a boy to watch videos like this. I’m terrified for her and all her “trans” female friends 😢

If she chooses to embrace being female just remember that she may feel embarrassed or ashamed for having thought she was trans in the first place. I was very much embarrassed too until I realized that I had been an impressionable child who was simply a victim of the times.
Honestly, it’s best to just provide a space where she can talk about it, because the more you push a teenager the harder they’ll pull. I truly feel like I would have skipped years of gender confusion if my parents had talked to me about why I felt the way I did rather than just immediately condemning it.
You aced it!
Hello! Can we add subtitles so more people will have access to this video?
I am asexual (waiting for people to throw things at me in the comments for admitting that...) and some of the culture which has built up around it is insane. The microlabels are soul-destroying, and I hate being it bundled in with 'gender'. Kids shouldn't be being encourage to call themselves asexual, it's ridiculous. [I will say that I am not a fan of the tone used - I get abuse on Twitter by people who think I'm part of all the nonsense.]
Asexuals exist, I’ve known a couple. The woman in the video who was claiming to be asexual clearly wasn’t because she was dressing for sexual attention and dancing for sexual attention so she clearly is not asexual. And like us lgb peeps, the young attention seekers are ruining things for you and others like you.

I think you mean trans? A kid being asexual isn't a problem since they don't have to "do" anything to be asexual and it makes it harder for a kid to be groomed since it doesn't align with their sexuality. And then even if they find out later that they're not asexual.... Well nothing happened to them and they can start having sex when they are an adult. I can't see the downside. Kids shouldn't be having sex anyways. But like I said I think you mean trans.
The CEO of tumblir went b to become head of Planned Parenthood whose biz model is now hormone meds and gender - queer theory does not want lesbian or gay they consider that too solid and needed to be de normalized

Totally fascinating - and alarming. I learned SO much. Really well-chosen, revealing videos. I read the ‘old Marxist’ Mark Fisher’s excellent essay that Hannah Berrelli referred to. Sadly he died in 2017 but if he were alive today, I’d love to know if he’d still have such warm words of praise for Owen Jones’ and Russell Brand’s class critique…? I’m guessing not.
R. I. P. Mark Fisher. His work is really great.
Wow that thing with the 'tics' was really sad. I wonder why it is that teen girls are so susceptible to mimicking their peers?
I think girls always have been heavily influenced by peers. I never was so never became a bully like all the other girls in my class and I was confident to have different interests. Think back to non uniform days in school and girls would still come in in identical clothes and trainers. Women in the workplace and in social settings operate like a hive mind in many situations I see. I go to Meetup’s and the heterosexual women all have the same hair do, similar clothes, don’t seem to have hobbies or interests. Yes, some gay women look similar and there are issues there, but I do find lgbt Meetup’s, the women have more individual looks, hobbies etc. 15 years ago, gay women wore a uniform of red hoodies and denim jackets so we have our hive minds, too. But I guess I see it more with heterosexuals because there are more of them so it is more obvious. Jonathan Haidt has talked about females moving as one as being how females relate, and moving as one when things are going well, and shunning one woman or girl as a form of aggression, whereas men are more physically aggressive to each other. Haidt also talked about the relationship between social media and girls’ mental health in respect to bullying which is female aggression, but also girls go to social media to compare themselves to other girls whereas boys go to social media for gaming. Girls are driven to images, boys to information and gaming, in general, hence the issues with girls’ mental health. He said the evidence is clear.
I am so happy that you two women are available to gender confused teens. I have been worried for a couple of years that these young women are so vulnerable to the regressive, right wing, authoritarian ideology of gender identity. Now they have the alliance!
It's interesting that the left and the right are pointing the finger at each other on this issue.
I remember when fandom was a real-world thing with email, including slash fandom, in the 80s and 90s. I think it avoided this splintering nonsense because it was multi-generational. Occasionally a younger woman would come out with the classic "I feel like a gay man trapped in a woman's body!" but there were women in their 60s in the room who would bring that back down to earth, i.e. "no, you're just a normal woman in a world that hates female sexuality." Now, it seems like the biggest problem with social media is that these young girls just stay in tiny knots of kids their own age and their ideas spin wildly off into left field.
And I'm glad I'm not the only person who sees that the Proud Boys suddenly began wearing dresses as an excuse to hate and threaten women and be praised for it.
so basically most people on tumblr were groomed (probably from someone that infiltrated the site). I remember growing up on the site and seeing the shift happen in real time
another thing I realized that tumblr gender ideology really started to pick up around the time most of gen z that was able to legally sign up for the site entered puberty, the most confusing time for anyone trying to find an identity. really makes you think
How do get the PowerPoint?
"Asexuality" is a lack of a sexuality. Atheism is a lack of a belief. Aromance is a lack of romance. There is no need to use any of that to invent classifications of personality/gender.
Also possibly a physical or mental disorder.
But some doctors will pathologize asexuals and put them on drugs that they don't need and will actively harm them in the name of helping them with their "illness". (Sound familiar?) Also many asexuals experience corrective rape and harassment from the typical "feel entitled to getting in your pants" crowd that harass lesbians and gay men. Asexuals need the term to build a community and help each other but since their numbers are so low, being part of the LGB in the form of LGBA is the best thing and will help prevent little asexual kids from growing up thinking that they are broken in some way and help asexuals without an in person community figure out ways to date without hurting themselves and/or others and supporting asexuals who might have experienced corrective rape, conversion therapy, or worse. 0 is the physical embodiment of nothing but it is still a number. Asexual people are few in numbers (1% of US population) but they still matter and asexuality still refers to how a person experiences their sexuality. If a person isn't heterosexual then somewhere in the US they will be harmed for being different.
"Micro identities".... that says it all!
The focus on sex by people who used tumblr during brain development is disordered. Sex(verb) does not determine your future. I didn’t realize this until I was 26 years old because of my experience on tumblr.
this is accurate. I grew up with tumblr as a young woman and saw all these words for the first time there. I couldn't believe when people outside of that site started using them as facts.
How has society taken this abject nonsense seriously? Have we really become this bored and shallow?
Hilarious presentation. 😂 great points made about biological sex based rights. #LGB
Great video. One thing I am convinced is true but no one seems to mention is the fact a lot of these kids are highly medicated and one of the side affects of some medications is a lack of a sex drive could this also be another reason they are identifying as a sexual etc ??
They seem to still be sexually attracted to people - I think it's just a 'cool' label which you don't have to do any work for. I wish I could tell them that it won't prevent them getting abuse.
These dangerous psychiatric poisons are certainly a major force behind gender ideology, critical race theory, belief in covid, veganism and other aspects of this cult.
Maybe for some of them but I as an asexual have felt the same about my sexuality since I was five which is to say, not a spot of sexual attraction for any human being ever. I am also entirely cisgender and do have a (very annoying and inconvenient) sex drive. Which just means that I have to deal with random hormonal arousal like once a month with few options on how to deal with it. I'm wondering why our side seems to have an issue with "asexuals"? I have no problem with people calling themselves asexual. If you just aren't interested in sex, then what else would you be? We have bisexual for those attracted to both sexes, so why not a word for those attracted to neither? I do think splitting themselves into sexually attracted vs. romantically attracted is a way to be cool, & "queer", & hip, while avoiding admitting that you are just hetero or just bi or just lesbian or gay. We used to have personalities. We used to have sexual orientations. We used to have values & character & interests that all made us unique individuals. We used to have lives. Not anymore. Now everyone is just an "identity" which is boring. No wonder they have to keep making up words & redefining existing words so they can "explain" these "sophisticated" concepts to others who don't have this special knowledge. If that's not a priest class, what is it? If controlling language, turning kids against their families, and viciously turning on people who reject your ideology (esp. those who used to believe what you believe but don't any longer) are the marks of other cults, then why not call this what it is? They have heretics, apostates, true believers, and leaders no one is allowed to question. That's no different from any other abusive religion or cult throughout history who preyed upon the trust of their followers, avoided accountability, and sought to punish "evildoers" (those trying to expose the abuses of, and the dangerous & irrational beliefs of, the cult).
@vegatablearian
That isn’t what asexuality is. It isn’t about wanting or not wanting sex or libido (which has more to do with the frequency of sexual desire). Asexuality is defined as zero sexual attraction to either sex. Heterosexuals are attracted to the opposite sex, homosexuals are attracted to the same sex, bisexuals are attracted to both sexes, and asexuals are attracted to no one.
I'm puzzled by the asexuality thing too. My guess is, lesbian and gay people are just sick of others co-opting their movement. You have zero interest in s*? Ok great, why does that lump you in with LGB people? How is it a seg - sue - al - ity? It's not. It's the absence of one.
Asexuals can mind their own business, we don't care if you don't want to have sex
@@vegetablearian_ Hmm... "Libido problems" sounds an awful lot like the ex-gay movement's belief that everyone is born heterosexual but people develop homosexual attraction due to sexual abuse or a lack of attachment to the same-sex parent. You're saying that everyone is born with a libido. I don't know if that's true. One would think that all animals that reproduce sexually would have a libido (sex drive) in order to pass on their genes, but same-sex sexual activities don't pass on genes, even though we see same-sex sexual behaviors in non-human mammals, birds, etc. I wonder if there has ever been a study on whether or not there are asexual individuals in other species? Now I'm really curious about this!

The word Cisgender is coined in the 90s by Dana who was doing research on transgender to make them "feel good" .
It was added in your dictionary in 2015.
I agree with a lot here. But I think we should blame young people for getting into wacky stuff that they know is wrong. We blame the two 10 year olds for murdering a toddler. Shock is one of the reasons many of the tik tokkers etc are doing what they are doing. It clearly is a way of rebelling and they want a reaction. Also, young people have been through stress before. The Second World War, the Great Depression. Is lgb people in the 1980s and 1990s. We went through a lot of stress.
I can clearly see the fact that teenage girls in the past had issues with eating disorders and self harm and that has been taken over now by changing the body with gender.
I had old fashioned gender dysphoria or as we used to call it gender identity disorder. I wanted to be a man because I had no good female role models growing up, my friends got pregnant at 14, 15 despite all the sex Ed we had, I was bullied by girls in primary school my mother was a violent bully but also a victim to my father and I was not like the girls I was around in temperament and behaviour. I wasn’t vile to other people, I wasn’t interested in clothes, I was more interested in things and not feelings etc etc, I intervened when women were beaten by men in the street but those women still went home with those men with blood running down their faces, I grew up in Blackpool where women prostituted themselves and worked in the sex industry. I saw nothing good in women. I had no good female role models and no friends at my second primary school. I saw men as the winning team, as the kind people, the fun people, the funny people, the intelligent people. I wanted to be on the winning team, not on the losing team with the sex workers and victims. There have always been females who were protectors and sought to protect others who could not see themselves as female because they could not relate at all to the females they saw with their own eyes. Many of these females were lesbian or bisexual. We need to keep women like myself in mind, who are put off being women by the women we see, not because we are scared of sexual harassment from men. I was also sexually harassed by women from around the age of 13 on a regular basis,. Groups of women would shout at me in the street, really full on stuff and offer me money for sex. Women are not innocent in the damage done to girls, including some gay women. But I would say heterosexual women have been the most damaging in my life, especially in the workplace where I have been through a lot of homophobia and it was straight women every time. I have no career because of it. My career was sabotaged completely. I have eeked out a career online teaching where I am responsible for my behaviour and my quality of work.
I know the situation today is much to do with social media, but there will still be gay women like myself who face such hostility from straight women that we struggle to see ourselves as women.
Just don't transition and become a fake man. Have some courage and integrity and be your true authentic self and an honorable lesbian woman.
Happy to talk to any Becky or Stacy who’s also willing to listen as well as share opinions. I’m not that feminist who judges other women’s lives, especially if they’re already judged by incels/MGTOW etc. But if they’re overtly TRA adjacent and are involved in attacking women who defend women’s rights while themselves defending men’s rights, then yes we need a conversation.
That's what always stood out to me. This movement embeds itself under the guise of "feminism" while frequently attacking women and protecting males.
I am a MGTOW

My adolescence predated the internet, and I’ve only just read Laura Bates’ "Men Who Hate Women" and Julie Bindel’s "Feminism for Women". So I appreciate this video.
I didn’t know that asexuality as an identity was created by teenage girls on Tumblr who’d become sex-repulsed by porn, and led to the popularisation of gender identities. But does that align asexuals with transactivists? Not necessarily. As a way of rejecting patriarchal norms, asexuality predates the internet by millennia, and has been advocated by radical feminism, e.g. "The Asexual Manifesto" (1971) and Sally Cline’s "Women, Celibacy and Passion" (1993). Radical feminists, some of whom would describe themselves as asexual, staunchly support the LGB Alliance.
I agree with the comments that it’s condescending to laugh at teenagers’ efforts - however misguided and exasperating - to make sense of the world. And advising them to “get a job, go to uni and move our of your parents’ home” tells them ‘boomers’ don’t know what it’s like to be young today.
That said, I admire the speakers' courage. Women are being no-platformed, losing their jobs and being assaulted for speaking out about the issues they raise.
Thanks for your comment. We never said that the label asexual was created by young people on tumblr but that it was popularised on tumblr and outline some of the conditions that motivated young girls to identify into it. You have to keep in mind on tumblr there was girls as young as 12 who were still going through puberty calling themselves asexual or demisexual. They think they are abnormal or different for not being hyper sexual at such a young age. It relates to gender identity because the same conditions motivated the too.
Our intention was not to be condescending but entertaining, keep in mind some of the topics are very heavy and depressing and we did want to lighten the mood.
And the move out of your parents home comment was not to imply parents can’t relate to their children it was to encourage young people to build their own identities off the internet.
@@shaywoulahan4102 Thank you for responding to my comment. I wasn't aware of the connection you've made here between the Tumblr label asexual and the normalisation of hypersexuality. The more I learn about how porn is affecting young people, and about the harmful impacts of gender ideology, the more appalled I am; I understand why you wanted to lighten the mood. And your sympathy for young people came across clearly in your explanation of the strategies adopted by girls to deal with feeling alienated from their bodies.
I didn't mean to say that you were suggesting parents can't relate to their children, rather that many young people can't afford to leave home. There aren't enough meaningful jobs that pay enough to live on, and going to uni means getting into massive debt. A lot of young people feel that 'boomers' (i.e. anyone older than them) don't understand that.
There's a difference between radical feminists and gender critical feminists. "Gender critical" is really a misnomer because it encompasses all people who are critical of transgender identity politics - but gender goes far beyond that. There are so many liberals and conservatives who rail against "gender ideology" but believe in gender ideology, i.e. in innate femininity and masculinity, as long as there's no mention of sex changes. Radical feminists are gender abolitionists who are also critical of the sexological model of "innate" sexual orientation - see Sheila Jeffreys' Lesbian Heresy and also work by Julie Bindel on this. LGB Alliance on the other hand sees sexual orientation as innate identities, as they mention during this talk as well. Radical feminists like Jeffreys explicitly reject the idea of bisexuality, so it is a stretch to say that we are staunch supporters of LGB Alliance - at least ideologically. Within this gender critical movement against extreme transgender ideology, we are allies since we have the same enemy.
It wasnt created on tumblr. Discussions of asexuality can be traced back to before the internet was popular. But "queer" identities in general were popularised via social media. I think tumblr gets too much credit though.
CZcams, and snapchat were big players too as were regular blogs, many of which dont exist anymore.
@@shaywoulahan4102 It is insane that 12-year-olds are labelling themselves as asexual (or indeed anything really!) but please bear in mind that we don't want to be lumped in with the nonsense or held up as an example of it. Well, I don't 😉
My opinion is that asexuality is a real phenomenon but the microlabels make absolutely no sense at all. A lot of them are contradictory of the basic premise of asexuality (if asexuality is experiencing no s3xual attraction how can there be microlabels based on specific ways to experience s3xual attraction?) and others like aromantic seem to be based in cultural ideas of romance rather than something intrinsic.
I think what happened with asexuality mirrors what happened with the lgb community. A bunch of overzealous, "progressive" young people co-opted the movement, created micro identities and changed definitions so they could call themselves special and oppressed.
I am asexual (in my 40s, no micro-labels nonsense here) and I agree with you. It has been co-opted in the same way as all these 'identities' have been, and it's bloody annoying.
@@womensrightsareace8864 I'm asexual, in my 50s, and agree with you and @python java about the microlabels. I tried reading Julie Sondra Decker's "The Invisible Orientation" and gave up because of them. I'm glad that asexuality is being more widely recognised and discussed now than it was when I was younger.
@@lucidee Me too, and it's lovely to meet you! I would settle for older children being told that rarely some people never feel sexual attraction, and not to get a load of abuse for it.
@@womensrightsareace8864 Likewise! And I agree.
@@womensrightsareace8864 @Lucy D I'm asexual too and its lovely to meet both of you. Especially as you're older aces. I'm 24 and inexorably the target of "well you're too young to know" or "how could you be sure" even though I'm well passed puberty.
I'm sure its probably a lot more frustrating for older ace folks to see how the movement has devolved seeing as you may have discovered the community before I did.
As far as I know, it went from being a relatively reasonable place to being a free for all where anybody could identify as asexual for any reason, usually it's because they have a s3xual preference thats only mildly unusual. The term asexual effectively means anything and nothing nowadays.
Comical and then sad.
Gay men excluded from LGB’s discussions once again. How surprising! (Not) all these teenage girls that they talk about identify just as that, gay men. Y

51:20 It's important to remember... that these ideas came from isolated lonely angsty teenage girls.
I don't agree. Clearly the theory came from academia, and then was filtered down and only then amplified by the group you mention. Many of those you quote are clearly in their twenties and such an age range is more likely to have acquired the Butler-lite theories.
Also I think you should jettison the whole left vs. right language. This makes little sense these days particularly in a world where both the main proponents of so called trans-rights and opponents such as yourselves are on the left. In the UK the Conservative Party is the only one holding back self ID at the moment and even there you have Teresa May thinking it's a good idea. I'm not saying you should ignore the weird cult groups such as 4Chan. They are distinctly unsavoury but the reasons transcend their being right wing. There are after all purveyors of conspiracy theories across the spectrum. JDK etc
I agree with your point on the political slant - maybe it's there cos one of the speakers is an avowed Marxist blogger

Don't understand how you don't understand that sexual and romantic attraction are different things. You claim that it is totally okay to have genital preferences and I do agree but does this keep you from falling in love with a trans person until you know about that? No. So you would feel romantic attraction but no sexual attraction. And besides this special case.. You know that there are people hooking up all the time without any romantic attraction, right?
And think of all the old couples who have zero sexual attraction to their partner but love them.
And if you have low libido because of medicine you take long term like decades.. You would feel no sexual attraction but could fall in love, don't you?
Or if someone has horrible sexual trauma. That person maybe never ever wants to be sexual again and isn't because the trauma blocks that part of life.. They would feel no sexual attraction as well. But they could maybe love someone.
Have you ever heard a platonic feeling?
No means no
Asexual is a term which refers to amoeba - not humans. All humans are sexual. Sexual creatures have only two sexes: male and female. So there are only two sexualities: male and female. How individual people express their sexuality, as: heterosexual (normal), lesbian, or gay men, or whatever - that's a different matter. Even so: gay men are still men; they still have male sexuality. Also: a person such as a monk - who abstains from sex - is not "asexual" - they are abstainent. It's a pity the gay and feminist movements confused so many people by talking about "sexuality" as if it were a thing we are - other than our male and female essences. Because, today, there literally are men who think they're women; and women who think they're men.
In short: there is no gay or lesbian essense; there are behaviours. There are lot's of people who are so fixated on their identities that they can't see the forest for the trees.
Y'all just decided to laugh at people for fun. Live comments weren't any better....
Men! or is it WOO-men?
yeah, i didn’t feel any sympathy or understanding from the audience. if you want girls and women to stop believing in gender ideology you have to understand where they’re coming from, and why they might take it so seriously. instead it just felt like they wanted to laugh at “stupid teen girls”
@@bastetowl3258 This is actually good feedback, thank you. A lot of the people in the audience are LGB parents who are frightened, but remember there is a cultural divide. I'm sure you laugh at things old people do too because you don't understand where the behaviours come from.
Despite the odd giggle there was genuine concern and fear of how these girls are growing up. Maybe reach out to LGB alliance and start a conversation?
