It’s grown as bio fuel for the power station. The jury is out still on if it’s worth growing, it’s a long term crop 18+ years.

Yes they are better than what we thought they would, they have been manipulated well 😃. We could do with a drop of rain but not too much!

Been pasted a field of winter sown barley already got its heads on! Was the woody crop worth growing? Is it animal bedding or boiler use? Great blog nice to see the rest of country how everyone is growing or trying to get crops in

Do you lose much michanthus through shattering when you move it, when will you next cut it?

A little, but we needed it to dry, and get it baled and more rain was forecast for the weekend.
The next cut will be in a years time, it grows fast! and has already started
