    Jeff Buckley was probably the most fearless performer I’ve ever seen from the standpoint of vocals. He used his voice like an instrument and laid everything bare, live without a net, before a paying audience, and had no fear or shame. He wasn’t afraid to make an ugly noise or allow his warble to go off key. That kind of artistic freedom is the most honest and moving thing you can imagine. Standing in stunned silence and completely unaware of the tears welling up in your eyes until they spill down your face. Artist like that are rare. At least he left behind some great audio and video for new generations to discover and enjoy. Great reaction!

    “There was an almost punk-rock tenacity to the way he would force you to listen to the effeminate side of his voice. I saw shows with a room full of guys wearing flannel shirts, and he would bring a song down to him singing vocal runs a cappella. He would keep doing it to the point that it was beyond discomfort for these guys who were all standing there trying to be tough. You would be uncomfortable for so long that you would then have this rejuvenation and discovery that this guy was fearless. Listening to him sing it’s one of those indications that the human race isn’t all bad and life is worth living and there is beauty and brilliance in humanity.”
    - Chris Cornell on Jeff Buckley’s voice

    I was there, and yes, we were all gobsmacked, entranced. 80,000 people but at times you would have heard a pin drop in the grass. Magical.

      YES THIS!!!! The live BBC 1 performance is superior! His best live performance of the song in my opinion. Unfortunately many reactors don't review that one for some reason.

    I never seen an interpretation like this in a contest like that ! He was a Great for sure . Glastonbury Festival is an event very important and old in Uk but anyway i did not know until some months ago . It's location is in Somerset that has an enchanting landscape . I crossed some lands of that region in 2018 when i was travelling for reaching the Southern Western Part of England along the Sea , the Cornwall ! And in that Zones takes place Stonehenge ! They are famous for cereals eheh expecially Oak (puddings-breakfast...) , for pumpkins (pumpkins seeds) for Sunflower (their oils) ! A Festival of thousands of people it takes place in the middle of the countryside with sweet hills ! Not simple at all stays in rythm with a tempo (s) like that . Pretty original . I see your great respect and appretiations for this artist ! You are really frontman and frontwoman eheh ! 8'50"-8'51" Suziq🤩 with an emotive little laugh and Travis tribute this performance . 9'40" For sure i enjoy

    Enjoyed this reaction, so glad you checked out this performance. Glastonbury is one of those legendary festivals here in the UK where some real incredible performances have been captured, there are a lot of people who remember being there and seeing them play and walked way fans.
    And as for whether his technical ability is planned and thought out, I would say it is. He was agonizing over his second album when he died and he basically locked himself away to write and perfect it. Sadly we never got to experience the final result in its complete form but it would suggest he really put a lot of thought into every aspect of what he created. I've seen a lot of his live performances of different songs and you can certainly pick out moments that were clearly deliberate, while other moments seem to evolve through live performances.

    he would of been a world known star by now, so sad he died after barely getting started, unique talent. influenced so many, and loved and heralded as one of the most gifted ever by many stars, led zep, muse etc .

    • @MojoPin1983
      @MojoPin1983 Před 3 lety +2

      I agree, Chris. Just a gentle correction, though: what you mean to say is "would *have"* ("would've" is the proper contraction of 'would have'). "Would of" is grammatically incorrect.

      @@leogask813 I’m trying to edify someone, and I prefaced my correction with the word “gentle” in order for said person to understand that I wasn’t being judgemental, rather, I was trying to help him out, for future reference. Should we just avoid correcting people, merely because they might take it the wrong way; even when one makes it known that they don’t mean to be insulting.
      There’s no benefit in remaining uneducated in a particular area. If one doesn’t know how to spell correctly, that can have adverse effects on their career opportunities, as employer’s are fastidious about such details. Good spelling goes along way, and can serve to make one stand out among other people vying for the same job, role, etc.
      Chris, with respect, you’re missing the point. It doesn’t matter if you’re writing an exam or not. It’s not like one simply chooses to spell something incorrectly (save certain texting abbreviations), merely because of the medium they find themselves in. That begs the question, would you use the same, incorrect contraction if you *were* writing an exam? Anyway, I made my point, and clarified my reasons, so please understand where I am coming from, and that I wish you well.
