  • I recently picked up a second LaCroix board. This brief video talks about some minor changes I've noticed between these two boards. Hope you find it informative.

    Great Video! I think your videos are fine as is. In terms of upgrades, a inexpensive one would be a lapel microphone, ~$20. A mini tripod by Manfrotto with a phone mount. I think the name is bixi by Manfrotto. You can grip the tripod legs and it will give a steadier and more comfortable shot.

    Switch one of the pulleys so both boards have one of each, a smaller pulley for speed and a larger one for torque. You can also increase the start up boost and max current ramp on your focboxes to get a faster take off

    2 FocBox Unitys to manage the 4 powerful hub motors, this would be the first real Traction Control AWD system in the industry!

    Great video! Any opinions on trampa boards?

      Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I did actually own a Kalynyc board for a bit. Awesome power and range, but the trampa deck just feels awkward and uncomfortable for me. I also found that I preferred the mbs truck setup with the shock blocks as opposed to the springs on the trampa trucks. I haven't tried the newest Kalynyc board though so the new deck design may be better. That's all just my opinion though on the trampa decks. I just feel like the convex shape is a bit too aggressive for my personal liking. Hope that helps.

    Thanks so much for this info and opinions! Would you vote on a cheap used dss60 or save for a Jaws?

    • @yoursource3170
      @yoursource3170  Před 4 lety +1

      Hmmm tough choice. I’d say it depends on what you really want to use it for. I haven’t actually ridden a Jaws board but I have ridden a Nazare Lonestar. Since the trucks and motors are different, the ride would be different but the deck is the same. I personally really like the DSS deck but that’s really just personal preference which depending on where you live you might not get a chance to test both out. I feel the main advantage of the Jaws vs DSS Prototipo is the battery and the charger. I like the idea of 12s vs 10s and the 8 amp charger vs the 4 amp (I think but might be wrong on that spec) between the 2 boards. The advantage of the Prototipo vs Jaws is that it’s slightly lower weight and more compact. Both boards are quite large though and you may prefer the feeling of the slightly longer Jaws deck. I haven’t tested those boards side by side but I would think that the Prototipo would have slightly better torque due to the slightly smaller wheels. And then there’s the big advantage of a much lower price. I’m not sure what the going rate of a used Prototipo is and it will of course depend on condition, but I would think you could save anywhere from $500-$900 which is a huge savings. Honestly both boards are amazing. The Prototipo will still smoke most production boards on the market in just about every area of performance. I still love riding mine. If you’re a casual rider or if it’s your first board then you’ll probably be more than happy with its performance. But if you’re looking for something with a few more upgrades that are important to you and don’t mind shelling out the extra cash then I’d say probably go for the Jaws. I will just add that if you’re a super serious longer distance rider or if you want to ride pretty much everyday and don’t mind the heavier weight and price tag then save up and go for the Nazare or the Nazare Lonestar. That just my opinion anyways. Hope that info helps. Let me know if I can answer anymore questions you may have and ride safe.

    • @yoursource3170
      @yoursource3170  Před 5 lety

      I can't say I've needed to change my tires yet... I'm not sure how many miles I've put on my board. I don't get to ride everyday so I don't put that many miles power month on my board but I would estimate I've gone a little over 130 miles so far, so not that much actually... I do have other boards so I switch between them some. Sorry I don't have more helpful info on that.

      I placed my order around the same time I believe. We did pick it up in person so perhaps that helped a little. It may also have something to do battery option we went with, but that's really just a guess on my end. You could always contact them to check on your status. Sorry I can't be of more help. I know in talking with them they are working 7 days a week I try to keep up with demand. I hope you get your board soon.

    can one fall off an eBoard if a belt brakes? Also, DSS50+ / DSS60 ... can not make up my mind why one is better than the other...I can not reason why the DSS60 is worth the extra $300 for the 20% battery upgrade... 23 vs 29 miles per charge...Does the upgrade give the motors more torque? You might want to get a really good mic setup for your outdoor recordings, ie. a mic that mutes wind.

      James Thomas The DSS50+ is the more expensive pair. They do, from what I read, have longer half-life and can last over 3000 charges compared to 500 from the batteries in the DSS60.

    Would you happen to have a phone number to contact the company for ordering questions.
    I could not find a phone number anywhere on the web site. I also sent a email to the email contact
    address but have not heard anything back.
    Any help would be great I just had a couple of questions i wanted to ask before purchase.
    It also brings up questions of how one would get a hold of someone if you need service or have a minor
    problem you would need to talk to the company about.
