    For those of you who have not ridden a Lacroix the comments about a shitty remote are made by people that don't have a clue what they are talking about. I have hundreds of hours in on mine and never a disconnect which is exactly why this remote is used, There is an app for apple and android that gives all the info you could want without putting more electronics in the board to mess up. For those that know all so much about everything ; why aren't you producing top tier boards with your infinite wisdom and cunning cleverness ?

    Batteries like this just don't "give out". They slowly die, and you notice it in the throttle response long before it's so bad you can't get home. I didn't put a battery display in my build, either. I just read the voltage through the charge port. I'm making a compact multimeter you can just quickly plug into the charge port, and get your voltage.

  • @tartopoar
    @tartopoar Před 5 lety +3

    The good point is that you can easily modify it with DIY parts. For example replacing the remote by a nano X will just take 2min. replacing the bluetooth module by a Metr one will take just fez minutes more to get complete telemetry :)

    Awesome review. Very thorough. Samsung produce the screen for apple so evolve should make their remote compatible with other boards, and evolve should use the foc box unity lol. Also being a performance board I think they should have brutal acceleration from standstill. Esk8 should have a new spec equivalent to 0 to 100. 0 to 30kmh maybe.

    Wonderful job on the vid brother. I wonder what y’all would prefer given the choice between a slightly used prototipo vs a new jaws 2.0. I like the mobility of the 34” length proto as the weight and speed are similar. I know jaws 2.0 has newer components but Proto has more range. What would y’all choose if the price was about the same. And if y’all liked style about the same….???

  • @beelzebobtheinnocent1659

    The battery and electronics are in a carbon fiber enclosure meaning most remotes will disconnect , the V2 is reliable and easy to use with practice. Bottom line, it works extremely well as anyone that rides a Lacroix will tell you though some have switched to other remotes for comfort none have done so because of connection issues and that is what counts.

      Josiah Spano yes. I’ve ridden a Lacroix but haven’t yet bought one. Partially because it just needs some fine tuning to make it worth it for me. I would expect a Focbox Unity, a more premium remote and a few other little changes to be made in Lacroix 2. That would make it a very compelling product indeed and would be enough to push me over the edge! Oh and we need a retailer in Australia ASAP please Lacroix!!

  • @archeebookingagent1909

    The remote is known for that.. if you running low on juice it will start flashing..
    The remote behavior can be adjusted in Vesc tool even on braking but this is something normal in FOC mode which these are running at.. many times boards won't even let you to run to full stop.
    the power button i usually use nail clippers and completely take cut off.. only little piece usually sticks out and that helps
    the Battery inside move and sometimes breaks the cable.. hence best is to put some hot glue in and while at it.. also move the lanyard line around the screw hole as that is more solid
    while you put bigger gear on it you get more top end speed but less braking power and less torque
    now if you compare this to other boards.. such Evolve which has cool Remote that no one can really trust and even after redesigning that, still no one can truly trust.. I think this is minimal.. the good thing is that if you are skater and into higher boards you can get different remotes.. it might not have LCD display telling you how fast you are going but quite frankly after stop riding my 4 Evolve boards I stop carrying how fast I was riding unless I was in competition and then used app.. in this case you can use one too..
    I think Lacroix is clearly the best board of 2018.. there will be time to comment after half year and see what can be fixed.. of course.. no manufacturer was perfect from the first production board.. so I don't expect this from them.. I personally don't mind how wide the board is, I think it's plus and for folks who like to carve but I do mind that the board is relatively short.. I also prefer stiffer deck for higher speed but those are my preferences and I have boards for that..
    last thing about the remote.. I had many remotes on all of my boards... Nano is my winner.. it's very simple.. and if I break it I pay 30 bucks to get new one.. and I don't even have to open anything.. to some this huge no but to me.. I love simplicity.. in winter I can have it in my packet because it's small.. I don't like Enertion Nanox because it's too wide.. and if you have skid plates on gloves, it won't be in good position.. I also like I can put my finger inside the ring.. so it stays in my hand..

    @LexSummer Před 5 lety +1

    Hy friend... i saw your review... i just wana say.. about the braking issue.. i fixed brakeing and accelerating on Raptor 2 with useing the BLDC Tool and plug it in at Master Focbox. you can adjust the slow speed and high speed brakeing. And a lot more cool stuff. the Focbox cant be perfect for any rider. But im sure you will find your perfect settings.

      @@DannyWuchannel YOu have never used the windows VESC tool to set your board up? The app where you can set every single thing as you wish? Though the jerk problem at very low speed is something present, it really happens only at speeds 3 miles per hour and less. You saying you need to get used to the brakes... No you don't you just set them the way you want, you have settings for braking in high speed and settings for braking in low speeds... But with that crappy remote it is hard to control you need to get APS remote or GT2E(B)

    I bought a ebay no-name eboard with All Terrain wheels for $300 and it came with this same remote, except the one I had displayed a green led for full battery and would go red around 50%. It was literally inside the case and the only way you could see it was thru the gaps in the case and the USB port or the switch on the bottom. I wonder if this remote does the same? Anyway even on the no name board I hated the remote because the range of motion was too small and too sensitive for the power. I really like the rotary remote that you showed on your review, I have that one too and I love that remote. @einsteind Před 5 lety

      hi, sry its a little long, perhaps I should attempt a review on the board,,,,,,,,
      I like the boards overall performance, good range with its 6.4ah battery, a top speed of up to 48+/- kmh (odometer reading on the remote/rpm of motors?) I average 35kph on the third H setting, luckily it has a good 4 speed controller with soft start on all but the top setting Lo, Mi, Hi and Hi+, it also shows the battery and remotes charge, forward/reverse, distance and has cruise control, (possible to use an app on your phone but haven't needed or used it) 90mm hub motors/exchangeable wheel/tyres. its carbon fibre deck is nice too as its easy to wipe down, and weight is about 6.7kg, the only dislike is that you feel every thing due to the carbon deck but it is tolerable. I would say it resembles an exway x1 in appearance but close up its quite different due to the trucks 90mm hub motors and wheels, its been reliable so far but have only used it daily for about 1 month. its also ip54 rated and has been ok when I have been caught out in the rain (not recommended riding in the rain I've had too bail on two occasions (slippery), and both were close shaves). lastly I chose it for its reasonable price compared to other boards at the time.

    • @DannyWuchannel
      @DannyWuchannel  Před 5 lety +2

      Yes. For me, the biggest is the remote and a battery indicator. Next is a way to carry/transport it more easily. I prefer to lift it on one end and roll the other end on the ground. With the weight distribution, the motor side should be on ground level. I can't do it with the current design because the motor mounts would drag on the floor.

    Any drop board will look great on any wheels but belt driven motor should be banned in 2019. There's no excuse. For casual user, you can get a AE Board with AT tires and street wheel hot swap for $600 running on hub drive motor.

    • @MrRailcraft
      @MrRailcraft Před 5 lety +1

      The Problem with direct drive is, that you have no oppertunity to increase the torque on the wheel. With belt driven you can accelerate better at the hill over the gear ratio(2.4:1 ratio means, that you doubled the torque from the motor), dood.

    For all you ladies complaining about the Nano V2 remote, I don't get it. Kaly.nyc use it, Enerion ship it w/ the Raptor 2. No LCD screen but who cares? It's a very reliable remote. My mate has an F40, it has no inside door handles (just string), one window winder, no AC & no power steering & it's still the greatest fucking car ever produced. Bells & whistles don't mean a thing. The best remote is one you have complete confidence in & you're not worrying about while doing 50+ kph on a board. It could use a battery indicator on the board though, would be annoying if you can't use the app.
