  • In this brief video, I will show you how to project/sync the same video off of a smartphone onto all of the TV monitors in a Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, or GMC Yukon from 2007 to 2020. This method requires NO MODIFICATIONS!! Just a few cables! It is very simple and should take no longer than 1 hour to set up if this is your first time! Unfortunately not really possibly on 4th Gen Tahoe/ Yukon / Escalade. You could plug the apple tv into this splitter, but you still need all the cables.
      GM should have made it possible to sync the TV’s from the factory.
      I think it’s fixed in the new 5th Gen but I haven’t been in one yet to see myself.
      Thank you tho 🙏🏾

    I have a 2016 Escalade with only the center screen. I tried to connect my iPad and iPhone via HDMI to Aux connector (the one you mentioned in the video), but the screen is not showing up the content. Any suggestions on what steps to follow? Thanks!

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  Před 3 lety +2

      If you only have a single rooftop screen, you just plug an HDMI cable directly into the HDMI port on the back of the center armrest.
      There is no auxiliary connections for center screens on 2016. Only headrest monitors. Center screen only has HDMI and DVD (See the video at 10:00 minute mark to see what I’m talking about).
      I’m a bit confused by your question but I hope this helps 😅
      If there by chance is an auxiliary connection in your truck, make sure you have the right “source” on for the screen. In other words, make sure you are viewing “auxiliary input” not HDMI or DVD input.

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  Před rokem +1

      No. You just need an HDMI cable, and the HDMI to Lightening dongle.
      Plug that into an iPhone or IPad and it will show whatever is on the iPhone screen on both TV’s
      Or if you have android phones and tablets you will need HDMI cable and HDMI to Micro USB-C converter/ dongle.
      That’s it! Just 1 cable and 1 dongle.
      I left links in the description of this video to help find them on Amazon as well!
      Hope that makes sense 🙏🏾

    I have a 2016 Escalade. Should I buy a USB to HDMI converter?

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  Před 3 lety

      It depends.
      For the center/ceiling screen, you could plug in something that is USB, like a flashdrive, and then convert it to HDMI and send the signal straight to the center and main screen. (NOTE: Main nav screen will only project video while in park with factory settings).
      BUT, if this is for the head rest monitors you will want HDMI to RCA. There is no HDMI input on the headrest monitors.
      Just look at the links I posted in the description. Everything you could want/ need is in there! Hope this helps! :)

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  Před 2 lety

      It might be a little different for you for the ceiling screens. Nothing major. I think your inputs are AV (Yellow, Red, and White cables) instead of HDMI, so you'll need an appropriate cable to address this.
      As far as the headrest screens go, they're the exact same and everything should work the same.

    How can I watch a video on the front screen while driving?

    • @SaraiGarage
      @SaraiGarage  Před 3 lety

      You need a special device. Cadillac has this feature locked from factory for safety to prevent distracted driving. You can search online for "video in motion" kits for the escalade.
      Basically, you need to remove the screen from the truck and plug the wire that normally plugs into the screen, into the "video-in-motion" box, and then make the signal go from the box to the screen and put it back together again.
      The box stops and defeats the safety lock.
      You may also be able to have the safety feature removed through code by someone who is good with Cadillac coding and has access to a dealership level Cadillac computer.
      In summary it is a medium sized job but it DOES require opening up the truck and possibly splicing wires to make it work. It's pretty advanced work.
      This video is just plug and play for normal people/parents. No modification needed!

      Yeah fair comment.
      If you use the TV’s regularly I would spend the money to pay a shop to do it.
      We use the TV’s like once every two years, so for me it was good enough without risking someone messing up the wiring.
      If you barely use them like us I think this is fine. I hid all the cables under weathertech floor mats and tuck them into the back pockets. It’s not bad honestly.
