"Triple I" almost sounds as sus as "Triple A", but thats because the latter has been ruined by greedy corporations. Hopefully it goes a lot better.
Triple A isn’t a bad thing, it’s just been tainted by a few bad eggs.
@@Evanz111 more like most of the eggs in the bag
it's just the title of the showcase
Triple I just sounds cringe. "We're better than all those other indies, trust us."
@@Sekhattfr 😂
I get what they're going for with "Triple-I", but bad Triple-A games have really ruined the marketing of that concept for me.
I feel like I'm blind with all the similar comments because I frankly can't see why people thinks Triple-A ruins Triple-I.
@@ultimaxkom8728 Rationally, I know that you're right. Emotionally, the "Triple-" prefix only inspires caution and pessimism in me.
@@antoniotrivelloni8191 I don't know what to say.
@@ultimaxkom8728 Because while it probably comes from a place of wanting to lift up talented indie devs, it also feels kind of vain and over-corpo'd. We don't need to be TOLD that good indie games are good with a cheesy new counter-culture marketing term.
Everyone needs to remember that alot of the dev studios that we loathe today were once beloved and passionate about making good games. They were what we'd call indie studios today. Inevitably, the studios making these amazing indie games today are going to take their place and fall prey to the same greedy corporate shit that ate up the ones we used to love.
@@ErsolTV That's too much fatalism, isn't? You can say history repeats itself, but it's hasn't come to that just yet. Plus, it's unfair to give the old's evil to the young.
I played the absolute sh*t out of Death Must Die. Can't wait for Act II.
Same, the only thing I havent done is win a run without taking damage
You should try Curse of the dead gods.
It was so fun. I cant wait
It was really fun. They're really dragging their feet with the new content though
Same here! 4/20 can't come fast enough!!
Dino lords looks like a kid's dream of having dinosaurs in Age of Empires
And it looks awesome
Look up Primitive Wars 2.
I had the pleasure to play a game called Dino D-Day on Steam way back when. Basically Day of Defeat with dinosaurs that have guns grafted to them.
My grandfather has been playing Age of Empires since release, and still plays it everyday... no clue how he doesn't lose interest, but thought of recommending it to him lol
Based game though
21:25 Asmon drinking that Dr. Pepper like it was product placement.
Flintlock is that SBI game that they asked to be removed from the list but refused to show they had removed SBI.
thanks for the heads up
Yep this. You can tell without even knowing as well based on the character designs.
What's SBI?
@@TheHeavyModd Sweet Baby Incorporated. A "consulting" company.
@@TsusakuCohenat what do they "consult" on, wojak-kun?
The Slay the Spire devs said, during the Untiy drama, that they had a game they'd been working on for 2 years in Unity that they were moving to GoDot.
Most likely it's this sequel they were talking about.
They are full of crap
@@OWlsfordshire lol ok
Godot is a good engine
just Godot and the t is silent thanks
@@OWlsfordshire They did end up using Godot and moving away from Unity
Isn't Flintrock the game SBI employe was bragging about saying that they removed the white male mc ?
yeap leave it to asmond to hand wave it away with a strawman oh cause woman on screen
the beauty about game development nowadays, its so much more accessible as long as you know the engine, all the random ideas you had while doing mundane stuff can be brought to life n in the marketplace. indie is where you can have so much value when it comes to fun per dollar.
I do you one better. I know how to make my own engine and my own game.
This has always been the case though, it's just a question of market size. As gaming market has increased so has the amount of indie development but indie games have always been a large part of the gaming landscape. Less so on consoles before digital distribution since all the consoles were manufacturer locked and you could only get indie games to them by circumventing their brand protections, but even then there were some.
"fun per dollar"
Kill Knight and 33 Immortals look insane, didn’t expect to be hyped at an indie showcase
That flintlock game is actually a sbi game😔
Indeed im not touching
SBI being sweet baby thing?
Does it matter that much?
@@Hetyy947 Yes.
@Hetyy947 Absolutely. Always reject marxism or be destroyed by it.
That hyper light breaker game is also on the SBI list. It's a shame since the first game it's based on was pretty good.
ngl I'm a bit sad Flintlock devs got so entangled with SBI. :/ We could tell the original project was made with passion and the game had so much potential, but after knowing what the former dev said about what happened behind the scene and how SBI completely tainted the project with their agenda, there's no way I'll touch that game. Even if the game itself will still be good to play, buying it would just be the same as accepting those freaks involvement in such an amazing project. They already did so much harm to big licenses, so I really hope they won't touch any other indie game.
So hype for streets of rogue 2 if you never played the first one it’s like $1 or so all the time on sale and it’s a blast
indie game devs have literally kept the video game scene alive and well and give me hope
Bro Death Must Die is so hot right now, I cannot wait to play Act II, in fact I stopped playing so I didn't burn out and it seems that it was the right call, cause that's all I'm gonna be playing when it comes out lol
I did the same as soon as they announced Act II. And it's not just a second act. They're completely rebalancing the game and changing how certain stats work. I'm also assuming gear in Act II will be power crept over Act I. I'm so excited!
Yeah I stopped after I unlocked all the achievements. Knowing there'll be more to do I decided to wait for more content before burning myself out.
having a spotlight of indie games is really cool. I wouldn't have known about it without this ty asmon,
editors too!
9:37 Sweet Baby Inc Detected.
Nah man guy just wanted to make music and added a game to it after to fit the vibe.
Please tell me you’re actually trolling.
@@thephilosopher7173 SBI was actually involved in Flintlock, so he's not kidding.
@@PineappleBaconPizza And Hyper Light Breaker... could tell from the basic script using buzz word like issues... like "some oppressive force took our freedom and we can no longer create art" kind of issues... Trailer reminded me of Mirrors edge, which I think had a similar premise, but was a great game; I will have to wait and see if HLB is a decent game or not after some streamers play it and such, but I have little-to-no hope after the newest addition to the Arkham games
@@thephilosopher7173 No trolling, simply informing. Whether you gonna buy the game or not is up to you.
Skadi is the most powerful DMD character. You jack up the luck stats, get the unique double hit sword and roll Time/Mort/ Winter. The gloves and sign stack.
I have seen basic melee hits for over 3k and crits over 10k. Soulstealer dps in the 5 to 6k.
No other character gets close.
My Time At Sandrock is really good. Also, I wasn't expecting the historical accuracy that Dino Lords game was pushing; like I know Vikings rode dino's but it's not talked about enough.
Did they ever fix the graphics after the one update ruined all the lighting?
Flintlock more like SBI
Risk of Rain is pretty crazy I played it a while back.
Yeah pretty good game but in my opinion (which might be an average gamer opinion), i don't see the point of extanding the loops in the actual version of the game, there is no real reward in my eyes. With that expansion it seems like worlds will finally visually change and that is what RoR2 was actually lacking of. It's really a great change.
I'm also happy that Chris is still involved in the serie for the OST (i head he wanted to quit at some point).
28:00 its called a strategy rpg and its pretty good genre unfortunatly you do not seem to like a lot those kind of games but some people love to read those talent tree and teoricraft builds thats part of the charm of that genre.
10:12 it literally is an SBI game, like not just ''Supported'' by SBI, but quite literally developed by SBI lol
SBI can't remain as the only scapegoat for this stuff. Well over 90% of these indie games have hippie developers that align with woke ideology.
@@OilFreeFeathers Oh of course, but indie developers aren't steering major triple A companies into their BS. These small indie companies are usually bankrupt after 1 game when they push their little agenda, they're a self solving issue.
I enjoyed the showcase. Not interested in every game but an hour of just non-stop games, updates, and platform releases better than some today.
Finally, a spotlight on good indie games.
What i also adore is that there no moderators who stretch the entire show to double the length with nothing informative to say whatsoever.
And actually shows gameplay
@@vergillives9890 yeah except that one game with the musician talking non sense everything is pretty straight to the point, I love it

Honestly better than most Triple A showcases...there was at least 4-5 games id be seriously interested in.
The problem is most these games will be locked to pc for a very long time. I've been wanting to play Death must die and Palworld but they're not on PS5...
10:12 it is a sweet Baby inc Game
Some banger reveals here. Such a shame the comments were constantly expecting every reveal to be the indie equivalent of Elden Ring 2.
I love your comment
Eh, most people will be happy with things on the scope/gameplay length of Cult of the Lamb, Hades, Blasphemous, Hollow Knight...
@@ucVu-di6cx hollow knight 2 when
Yeah, but dont buzzword your showcase as 'Triple-I' either
@@merlylvsm That just felt like a cute joke if anything. Besides, even AAA showcases like Nintendo Direct and PlayStation Showcase often don’t reveal anything that’s huge or people get excited about.
Curious if Death must die's release date is related to Bulgaria's 420, which is a big histoical event from 19th century's revolution period.
I played V rising way back then. The games awesome and we killed every boss at the time that was out. Waiting for it to fully release before I tackle it hopefully with friends. Looks like there's NPC's, Dracula, and a Vampire Hunter (Belmont) was finally added.
5:23 Yggdra Union had something similar, the enemy troops had a lord called Gulkasa who used a sort of wyvern/dragon as a mount also you could transform one of your own units which mount was a horse and you could change it into a wyvern/dragon as well.
For like a couple of maps because the item is a consumable. And by that point leveling the cavalry is worthless because you get a better Lance user that can go on water lmao.
If you can't use Genocide card, then what's the point...
Picked up the first slay the spire just sorta randomly without knowing anything about it and have easily put 200+ hours into countless runs
Theres something about the aesthetic of that world in the tower defence game that looks so good to me, the ui looks very nice as well
There was a tower defence game?
@@Atlessa yeah a castle tower defence, ive played loads and this one looks good

Gonna give it a closer look for sure.
That was actually an amazing showcase. Slay the Spire is one of my all time favorites so I'm excited for that, Streets of Rogue 2, and Undermine 2
Asmons upload frequency keeps my days full
The first act was SO good! Halls of Torment level good.
“Triple I” made me nervous and then they drop Slay the Spire 2 I’m in 100%
The soundtrack/sound design of those games is one of the best I've ever Heard
Both Flintlock: the Siege of Dawn and Hyper Light Breaker are SBI associated games; I assume they only brought them on for the additional bonus, but likely will suffer reduced total sales if they are/or perform similar to Suicide Squad.
Keep in mind that extremely wealthy investment firms provide a checklist associated with bonuses if you, for example, add a minority race character into your game... thats why there was a single black woman in God of War, when realistically there should have been far more if they wanted to go for "realism" and not just be diverse.
flintlock is in the grey area with sbi. because they have been working with sbi on and off, and the devs does not admit sbi involvement, so we'll have to see.
the devs admitted involement
There's a old game called Paraword, that is basically very similar to Dino Lord's idea. Despite being older, it even looks better visually
Lost it when all the cool trailers where interrupted by the composer at 9:06 and everyone just went "Yeah?" "Who asked?" "Damn that's crazy." 😂
It made me immediately think "This game is going to be trash if they are trying for some kind of pity thing without any gameplay even shown. Welp no gameplay, k thnx bye." Seemed like an apology for failing to deliver on a vision, before the game was even announced or released, odd marketing tactic.
@@confusedashell020 _Tell don't show_ tactics.
It's one of the SBI games. Of course they're gonna yap instead of showing
@@confusedashell020 It's not a sign of it being trash, but that the creators are "artists" who are expressing themselves through their respective medium. The focus isn't the creation, but the artist. It's why modern art feels so meaningless and by extension why games made and propped up by that same type of person also feels meaningless.
I genuinely think you would enjoy risk of rain, there’s a bunch of characters and so many items. If you can get past the initial learning curve of surviving your first couple teleporters it’s great
Oh hey just recently I discovered that game (death must die) and gave it a try. There's a lot of room for improvement and some of them will be implemented next update but the general feel for the game is pretty good
U know something went wrong with triple A gaming when litteraly the first 3 min of this event more badass and hype than every ps or xbox event in the last 3-4 yearsxd
so true
Streets of Rogue 1 was really good, but two sounds more open and more divers of things you can do. Cant wait for the second part!
Quite interested in the new Rimworld like game, Norland, as well as the Mouse game (as it seems to be more than a slapped together micky mouse free domain celebration game), and the Streets of Rogue 2 game... aside from that, the 2 SBI games are obviously a no go, and some of the others are only mildly interesting to me; already have a few of the titles, or intend to get them.
Curious what other people are interested in :D
Definitely getting Streets of Rogue 2 and playing with my buddy. The Australian post-apocalyptic RPG interests me, looks like most are sleeping on that one. Shadows of Doubt, 33 immortals, the Inuit game, and Kill Knight interest me. Also while it's not really my kind of genre the Asian mountaintop city builder seems like an interesting and fairly novel idea.
@@TheHeavyModd I saw a youtuber play the Mountain top City builder a while ago, and decided I would love to get that to, and the Streets of Rogue 2 looks interesting, but I lack a friend group interested...
I think more options is only exhausting in games like PoE where you can easily brick a build and can't respec easily. In other games I feel the more the better since I can make a character that plays how I want.
Dyson sphere program has been out for awhile. It's good. Though that wasn't a very good ad for an update.
Has a playlist for the game "oh I don't think I've played this game before" lol, I guess it's hard to remember every game when you play as many as asmon does I'd probably forget too.
if you like death must die, try hades too. it's more active, but still very fun.
I played a bit of Let's School, you got a problem with that? Theme park and Theme Hospital were pretty popular back in the day, it's one of those types of games.
The coolest aspect of Cataclismo in my opinion is the building system. Unfortunately the didn't showcase is at all in that trailer. Bad move.
23:20 Broken Roads intrigues me though it is not Asmon's style. Reminds me of old Fallouts and I love these.
Indie Devs are going to save the video games industry so much talent and creativity!!!!
Hyperlight is SBI
i mean, all of these are probably way better than anything triple A has to offer.
this is like 100% better then the game awards.
no dumb ads,no bullshit host telling lame jokes,no CGI online trailers,no mountain dew sponsors.
just games.
and hack i wanna play some of those and already wishlist a bunch.
i ought Gestalt was dead,it was on my wishlist for like 4 years.
glad it's coming out soon.
Streets of rogue 2 and Wizard of Legend 2 are my most hyped ones
can play may slow turn based RPG if it monster collecting like Digimon survive. maybe high fantasy like the old FF games, golden sun.
Dude, I would love to see Asmon play Darkest Dungeon, 1 or 2. They'd be really tough but they'd be really fun to watch asmon play.
There are so many good indie games I'll never be able to play them all.
kill knight looks like a game I'd pour 100s of hours into like enter the gungeon, here's hoping
V rising update looks worth giving a go ill be playing that 100%
never played slay the spire either, have a few streamers that I follow that spend an ungodly amount of time on it. Not really interesting to me, but some people really like it.
I don't trust games having the triple prefix, but if we do use it then the only game I would call triple-I is Dead Cells.
Immortals is exactly what Zack has been asking for in WOW. Raids without filler time wasting mechanics. Looks awesome
Seeing Slay the Spire 2 pop up gave me goosebumps. Can't wait!
I ve added so many games into my wishlist. It's crazy because I never do that with triple A showcases
因为你买不起
@@honglee6880Adding to wishlist costs nothing
Super excited for slay the spire 2, cat quest 3, and wizard of legend 2 which I almost skipped it’s trailer because the first game is pixel art and I almost didn’t recognize it
@1:46 "Where's the gameplay" - proceeds to be impressed 🤣🤣
Can't believe they didn't show Nine Sols, it's like the sekiro of souls-like side scrollers, there's a trailer and a demo out, it's really really good
Very embarrassing that Indie studios are doing way better than triple a game studios and also Indie Studios are passionate about there games and dont charge ridiculous prices
Reggie, who is sort of the store brand version of Sseth, did a great video on Shadows of Doubt.
I'll hold out for the first quadruple I game. Ubisoft gotta be cooking something.
Fire goddess is good with the new ranger guy, cause she gives flat % attack speed, they changed a lot of sht
Asmon if you liked Kill Knight, go play "Ruiner" it's similar gameplay but in a cyberpunk setting.
Also very quick paced combat.
"This is fu*king stupid, I'll PLAY IT "
nothing new that got me really excited. just a bunch of isometric / pixel arts but i added ravenswatch and kill knight to wish list so i guess those were the winners for me. already had 33 immortals, slay the spire 2 and a few others wishlisted. was excited about the v-rising part, cause i really enjoyed that game, until i saw it is just a cosmetics pack...kinda weird to showcase it here
Interestingly it doesn't say "post apocalyptic Australia"... cause that's just normal australia
Flintlocks been confirmed it was a Sweet Baby Inc game, by Kabrutus and the Sweet Baby Inc detector. Hyper Light Breaker is also Sweet Baby.
Play risk of rain bro but I recommend unlocking the mode where you can select items for making your own build.
Otherwise it's kinda like vamp survivors, you get like a few upgrade choices when you get an item
Its owned by gearbox now.
@@Blatadaba that doesn't matter too much, the game was already finished. All Gearbox can really do is touch-ups and DLC.
There's no mode like that in the vanilla game. There is the Artifact of Command, which requires you to find one of the hidden codes in the game, input it into a special teleporter, and complete the trial to get it.
But unless you look it up, it'll take several runs to get it
@@MorganSaph that's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks!
@travis3637 doesn't matter, gearbox did the first DLC and everyone liked that, no reason to expect they'll suddenly ruin it after paying big money for it.
Just because it has a black woman doesn't mean it's related to Sweet Baby. I can check this right now.
Damn, Flintlock IS related to Sweetbaby. I guess this is how it is now.
Slay the spire is awesome. Try it out.
Oh cool, Contra DLC. I still need to finish the Among Us one for Vampire Survivors
5:21 it`s give me Paraworld flashbacks

Triple-I stands for
Innovative, Interesting, and Impressive.
And I like it already.
Later then it will get corrupted by a giant corpo it happened to angry birds and pvz so it will happen to them to
death must dies update is looking to be insane, their footage there honestly looks weak compared to the weekly(bi?) dev updates they've been posting on steam, I'm excited to get back into it
lol, shadows of doubt. Josh (from lets game it out) tried and broke it. Was awesome. The game not so much, but for an indie, impressive.
Wizard of legend 2 and undermine 2 this year will be a blast
4:10 it reminds me to a game i play a lot (not to many players sadly) called dinostorm, whats about? war between clans and players.... whats the deal? it has dinosaurs, cowboys and lasers (guns) kahaha, kind of stupid but it works
That Kill Knight game trailer was edited by Max0r probably.
Dino lords looks like it belongs on a saturday morning cartoon from the 90s that only lasted half a season.
So hyped to play investment banker character!
In the first game, Investment Banker is addicted to drugs, so you have to keep him supplied or he goes nuts
The Last Spell has the best soundtrack out of all the games.
Wizard of Legend 2 POG!!!! I put so many hours into and still play the first! SSR+ tier roguelike!
