    "Take your time." That's honestly the only thing you need to keep in mind. I tend to rush because there is a car behind me and I feel like they just always impatient.

      How about stiff uphill? When taking time to release the clutch it will cause the car to move backwards. Pls help. I'm have a hard time timing my clutch to mix with gas. I'm just a beginner

    After I change gear from 1st to 2nd and lift the clutch up my car jerks and slow down a little bit. What you recomend me to do. I lift the clutch up and than adding gas.

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  Před 3 lety +23

      It’s the co ordination of your feet.
      What is causing the car to jerk is the left foot coming off the biting point too quick, just needs to lift off more slowly.
      The second point of your car slowing down is because there is a delay from when you lift off the clutch to you putting gas on, that’s why your car is slowing down. You need to put the gas on just as the clutch comes off.

    Got a new car and I can’t drive it at all. The bite point is 90% of the way when lifting the clutch it’s so high it’s stupid. You feel like you’re stalling it every-time you pull away. Hate it sm.
    Anyone got any tips on the Hyundai i10?

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  Před rokem +2

      If the biting point is near the very top of lifting the clutch off, it could be the clutch is on its way out. But if it is a brand new car, maybe that is how Hyundai does it clutch.
      The only thing is practice in a quiet area to get used to where the biting point is.

    • @jamesa2482
      @jamesa2482 Před rokem +3

      @@JamesTravis it’s only got like 33k miles so I don’t think the clutch is worn, however I did see online that it’s possible to change the bite point to so it is lower down? Do you recommend adding a lots of gas it struggles to pull away sometimes. I’m used to driving diesels

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  Před rokem +2

      @@jamesa2482 some clutches can be adjusted to lower them, some are automatically adjusted.
      If you are stalling when moving off, then it will probably need more gas with it being a petrol car and possibly a bit slower off the biting point as well.
      If you are putting on more gas and the car is still moving slower, then it is probably more clutch to come off.

    I keep tending to keep the clutch a bit more at biting point after applying gas , till i feel like is time to let go completely.
    I feel like if i do that I'm wearing the clutch down faster as just changed it .
    How can i minimise the time i hold it, without accelerating like a rocket, as my street is full of cars and not comfortable accelerating past 10 15mph in tight places .
