This video helped me pass my manual driving test in one attempt. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After 12 driving lessons, this video answered why I kept jerking while moving away in traffic.
I have driven auto cars for 13 years but I felt disappointed when I couldn't fix my manual driving stalling problems.
I realize now that my instructor needs to learn from you that the best practice is to lift your foot when getting to the biting point, combined with a few gas pedals, especially for people with a short foot like me.

i've had my license for about a year now and shifting has never really been a problem and i've driven all kinds of cars. But this week i bought my first car and had alot of trouble pulling away. I thought it was a clutch issue but really the problem was me keeping my heel planted on the floormats like my instructor taught me. Loved this video Richard!! I've been driving for the past 10 years and have always had the habit of keeping my heel down when using the clutch! It's perfectly fine and comfortable in regular driving but in bumper to bumper traffic, it's exactly as described in the video that the clutch pedal seems to get into an awkward position underneath your foot after a few pushes to the pedal and then you have to adjust! I tend to just quickly put the car in neutral, adjust my footing on the pedal and then get back into gear again!
I never thought about keeping my heel off the floor in order to attain better control! I will definitely be trying this now and hopefully will be able to get into the habit soon! Thank you so much for this video, it goes to show that it never hurts to go back to the basics, you might learn something that you never thought of! Cheerio!! ♥

On my first lesson, it was on a hill and got it straight away 😂 we then went to the dual carriageway and went to max speed as a learner driver in NI (45mph). Glad I picked up clutch control on my first lesson with no prior experience

Thank you so much. I had a issue with stalling when I pull off as I learnt to first release clutch and after the car is moving then to add gas however the car I bought doesn’t give me much help as it’s a 1999 model. So my first couple of times driving it has consisted of many stalls along the road and it is a shot to my confidence 🙈 I became so discouraged but your video helped me understand this a lot better. Thank you from South Africa 🤗

Passed my driving licence exam yesterday in Italy. Had the option of driving an automatic gear car (but being forbidden to drive a manual one after passing the exam) and doing the exam with an automatic. Chose to learn the manual shift and clutch control. Once learned, it's going to help you understand automatic gear better. Kinda like learning command line for the computer OS: steep learning curve but great knowledge dividends.

oh my god. With 20 years of AT experience. I'd never thought it could be this easy. I was never taught how to drive MT. Even with a good concept of how a clutch works, I wouldn't say I managed to ever pull out of the driveway without a stall. But after watching two of your videos Richard, I was able to drive to the supermarket and back, even with red light stops. Without hiccups or being horned at! My first MT real life driving was a success! I must say your videos, (especially the part on clear explanation of the bite and the ECU) has literally taught me how to drive an MT in practice! They completed the lost puzzle piece for me! Thank you for your knowledge and perfect teaching!
