I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!

The mic thing at the beginning, I think, is because she almost always wears a head mic and also as a way to mock people who say she never sings or ever has a live mic. That's why she's also joking about it feeling illegal.

Britney has also anxiety. After her breakdown she has always been nervous on stage so these past years she has gotten her confidence back so I say bravo to her for that.

@@missyb9438 it has nothing to do with how she dresses. She has anxiety and she shows it a lot of times. That's why I said she is always nervous on stage. Her costumes are usually chosen for her. Whenever she chooses her costumes she usually wears sportive costume so she can be more comfortable.
Most people wouldn’t survive what Britney has been through in her 30+ years of life. We all have struggles. But, this woman has been made to go through the worst things in front KD the entire world and having the world talking about u when they have no clue what’s really going on.

Her last album Glory had a mix of both voices. She's been getting more confident with it over the past few years since she signed with RCA
Crafting ranger I feel like RCA is a shit record label because I feel like they restrain her from her true artistry. Plus RCA is a division of Jive (we all know Jive was literally shut down for being a shady).
@@devine5902 actually RCA went out and bought all the major record labels to snap up their artists including Britney, jive wasn't shady, they was just bought by RCA, RCA are known for holding back artists.
To be honest I feel like they didn't handle glory well at all. Her two singles had someone featuring and her promo was still kinda "Britney Jean" not really a glimpse of what "Glory" was or should had been.
Crafting ranger glory is a beast of an album
spooky Glory has so manny other songs that would have made the album a hit had they made them singles instead of the ones chosen and they control everything around her which is sad

Britney fans are protective of her bc of 2007 and her struggles. Seeing her finally do a live song was a great moment. Kinda REALLY wish she'd turn her headset mic on and sing with the track...bc lip syncing to old vocals whilst also not doing incredibly intricate dancing...is lackluster. She can do and be so much better. I wish her the best.
I don’t mind the lip synching tbh I just wish she would studio record “live” vocals to lip synch to. It would give us updated vocals to her old songs and make it a lil more believable
She sung live in the Circus tour and in Femme Fatale many times its more in the past 5 years live performance have been rare.

@@okayfloatstudios3097 you do need to understand that Britney has some grueling scheds that singing everyday live with alot of stage performance is really exhausting and tiring..tons of artists use the backing track technology or other term in sports they call it load management.

She's really sweet and genuine as a person... I love her voice! Some claim she's not the best singer but... Her voice is so soothing :)

I'm a huge Britney Spears fan, I adore her so much. You shouldn't receive any hate from us fans because, well, we all know that what you're saying is true. Her voice was so impressive when she was young and you're right, the baby voice that was forced upon her is exactly what 'semi' damaged her vocal chords. I hope Britney tries to work on her deeper vocal range again. There's still potential there. Also, the mic tap was probably because she always uses a headset.

Totally agree! I'm a huge britney fan and what I find quite sad is that she was literally born with talent, a NATURAL ability to sing better than most kids her age.. her singing ability is what got her famous in the first place- what got her into talent shows and the mickey mouse club etc. And yet what she's known for and will always be said about her is she was a great performer but couldn't sing! I LOVE her dancing, it's what made me become a dancer but I also think it's sad another talent (singing) was essentially ruined by her record labels choices ☹

I hope she gets a hold of a great vocal coach to work her through the transition. She seemed a little scared early on there, but was having fun at the end. Not everyone can be Ms. Bonnie Raitt...husky, belty, and masterful on slide...but Britney can develop the lower range for sure.

Sarcastic move! The tapping thing was sarcasm, she was actually adressing the issue that a few days before in a big press publication, mentioned that she couldn't sing live, so... She did that thing, you should watch her "You Oughta Know" live performances during "The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour".

The microphone tapping thing at the beginning was because she just changed it from the headset one. Plus she was sarcastic saying "it feels illegal" cause people usually say Britney doesn't know how to sing or whatever. I loved your reaction but I do feel it was a really powerful performance, especially keeping in mind that she hadn't sing live for years now and she was also probably pretty nervous. I'd like you to react to her performance when she was a kid, now that will definitely blow your mind :)

Britney is a low Mezzo voice like Pink that imitates high soprano voices like Ariana grande. Overall she can sing, just needs more practice in her natural mezzo register
Pink is a Mezzo. Britney is not. Britney is a light alto voice. And pink is a very powerful mezzo and she dont imitate sopranos. Mezzos are half sopranos with alto abilities

@@feridedogan7653 No sorry, Britney is nothing like P!nk in vocal style. P!ink can sing just about anything, her vocals are that strong. Britney can't sing just about everything because she is used to doing that stupid baby voice that makes me flip the station when she comes on. Britney needs to get proper vocal training and break that habit. It's like she's stuck in that style and wont ever change unless forced to. Arian is somewhat similar in vocal style because she tends to do that baby voice as well sometimes.

@@831mrscardoso Britney has gotten proper singing lessons. Literally pretty much her entire childhood. I don't think a 10 year old who couldn't sing just about everything would be on an Off-Broadway show. When she got to her record label they trained her to sing in that high pitched nasal voice.

I'll be honest as a fan of Britney Spears the person and the performer I like the rawness and vulnerability of her voice. I would listen to a whole show of her singing with her natural voice like this. Of course if you're going to compare her to a Celine Dion or Mariah Carey there's going to be big differences but I'm okay with that. However having attended the Piece of Me show in Vegas (and Meet n Greet!) I'm also a fan of the choreographed lip-sync show. I'm also okay with this review because it's honest and coming from an analytical view of her vocals which is apparently what Britney Spears fans wanted. I'm not even going to read the comments cuz it's probably a lot of hate lol. But great review and I just found your channel I'm going to check it out some more.

I think you were very kind to her. It really is a shame she doesn’t work with her voice more. If she she really wanted to, I believe she could be a pretty decent vocalist. I think it’s her team that doesn’t allow her, as her millions of fans are used to the pop vocals, so they may not buy her music if she changes that. Then again, she’s likely gain more respect and other fans. Thanks for being kind and professional, I do love Britney and it makes me sad when people are cruel to her. Thank you for the reaction and opinions on this! You are the real honest vocal coach. Her behavior in the beginning was the lead to the performance. She almost never uses microphone so when she pats at the mic the fans will instantly know that something is about to happen.

She said testing testing because they switched the microphone. Normally, she has like a headset on to allow her to perform better, but she switched to a hand microphone.
