I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.

Yes Dahling, I think the same, I love her for what she's done for music too, her voice has gone through 3 insane decades of singing monster songs, nevertheless she did her songs justice n it was ALL live 💛

even her cracks sound amazing. when other artists crack during a performance its funny and embarrassing but with Mariah it still sounds good.
She even admits that she hated the performance. She was nervous! but for a vocal legend like her, she doesn't need to prove anything anymore!

I see your a Madonna fan (who I do love) but come on if you love Madonna and say Mariah can’t sing it holds no weight. Mariah can sing better than most people on the billboard 100 right now. She just can’t sing like 90s Mariah and so what shes aged vocal chords age and she has nodules 🤷🏽♂️
I loved it all but my favourite part was 09:39 it’s like they all knew she was fighting with her nodules (and obviously winning from how well she ended up doing). So seeing how genuinely happy Taylor was for her made me smile. I’m not sure why haha!
The crowd overall was so nice, wich is ironic since most of thoose artists' fans are the onws who constanly hate on Mariah, without realizing tbey probably wouldn't have their faves if it wasn't for her, Ariana, Beyonce, Christina, ect. All are or were fans of Mariah and got major inspiration from her.

This is the one vocal coach who I have always seen show respect and consideration when reviewing Mariah's performances, as well as other performances. You manage to be honest, but kind, respectful, and considerate when discussing singers. I really enjoy that you highlight the good as well as the less than stellar aspects of performance.

*To be honest:* We have to keep in mind that she's been singing around her vocal nodules for over 4 decades with nearly 3 of those decades being full of unbelievably difficult songs and she's still singing around them here, however they've gotten worse over time that it's harder to sing around them like she used to (plus age). Also, it's obvious that she's incredibly nervous because of all the ridicule she's received in recent years. Plus the level of "snatchation" of her waist is probably restricting her breathing.

She can lose the shame/nervousness when she gets past the fact that her voice is not the same as before. Change doesn't mean it's bad, she just needs to get past that. She is one of the most amazing voices in history n she's an amazing writer! I hope she realizes we love her n we support her no matter what 🙏🙏🙏😭
Mariah Carey NYE still haunted her I think. Every times she performs on live TV after that incident she seems very nervous. Her caution tours are much better since she’s more comfortable with her fans.
Nobody's perfect. Credit to her for single live. Most as you say didn't. Shes still incredible and nostalgic moments hearing her old classics. I wish she would do more new stuff in the style of fantasy. Honey. Dream lover era.

Litterly the first vocal coach who was rlly telling what was the problems of this performance like the emotions crack it was the nodule issues bc her voice got tired after singing the hell out of the 2 first songs when she got to emotions A VOCAL SUICIDAL song she looked tired not like some other vocal coaches I watched were saying oh that WASENT nodule problem her voice deteriorated like wtf??

Plus, she's wearing that corset, because people have always been harsh to her regarding her body figure.

I’ve listened to Mariah Carey since the beginning when I was a kid and this performance made me tear up a little because you could catch a glimpse of her younger self/younger voice. I think she did fabulous and the fact she sang it live was the best part.
She sings 100 percent live.
Yes she is nervous but still she is an icon and in fact she is the music, you can see during her performance so many people sing along with her, they adore her.

Mariah Carey will forever be known for her AMAZING VOCALS AND NO OTHER SINGER CAN SAY THEY NEVER HAVE TROUBLE SINGING LIVE, I can appreciate her talent and her Angelic voice. I respect her and I appreciate her god given talent . Bow down to the queen of vocals . Mariah will forever be known as a singers singer and will go down in history not only for her achievements but for her vocal chops and on her worst day still sounds better then most to all singers on their good day .

She was so good I'm so proud of her. Totally nervous. Even I was but she nailed it. I loved the fact that the people were genuinely happy she was there performing. Her repertoire of classics is immense yet probably this is one of the hardest pop/RnB medleys done live on TV for a while. Her imperfections only proved she still can handle her catalogue and that she is a hero writing this songs. They are timeless and so loved by almost everybody

Go check her Caution World Tour clips and you will be STUNNED. She was simply too nervous here and in a subsequent interview she even said she hated the performance and would rather the audience had gone to her concert and seen some more relaxed performances of hers.
