CASINO ROYALE | 007 & Mollaka Parkour Chase - Daniel Craig | James Bond
Vložit
- čas přidán 9. 10. 2020
- James Bond (Daniel Craig) pursues the bombmaker Mollaka (Sébastien Foucan) in the opening sequence from CASINO ROYALE. The construction site was built from scratch in the Bahamas. The red steel-girders were shipped from England and erected in six days to create the illusion of a building site. Directed by Martin Campbell.

Casino changed the way Bond films were made. I remember seeing this fight scene for the first time and was totally blown away. This is also my favorite Bond movie - the sequels just couldn't match this.
CR is best, I agree, but Quantum of Solace is a worthy successor IMHO. Somehow QoS always gets judged purely, though.
None of them came even close. QoS was the most pretentious bullshit bond muv
Sky fall
Skyfall matched and was even better than this film...
@@abhijitpadhi625 skyfall was garbage compared to this, home alone part 4 with guns
Every clip of this movie is gold.
Gold, Bond Gold!

This is a great example of expressing characterization through a thrilling action sequence. Mollaka's wild, fast body scrambles around obstacles, while Bond's brute pragmatism bulls through each of his barriers. People sometimes forget this was Craig's first 007 action piece, depicting a rougher James Bond with more grit than gadgets.
Exactly. He could've just as easily waited for Mollaka to come back down, but Craig's Bond is a bulldozer
The producers really should have stayed with the "Casino Royal" Bond. He gave fresh air to the series. Spectre and No Time to Die brought back way too much gadgets and science fiction.
Unfortunately Craig filmed most of Spectre and NTTD with broken limbs but the DB5 with the gun turrets is a real practical custom built gadget car and cool as fuck
damn using the word pragmatism in a youtube comment

That was some extreme parkour
But we all know they enjoyed making it if Craig didn't sebastion atleast did.

Hi
Extreme parkour indeed i really like this is good stuff this is why we watch bond moment 077 ✌👍💪😀📺❤
2:58 If Mollaka had had one more bullet in his gun, Daniel Craig would have had the shortest run of any James Bond actor ever.
He could ov just stamped on his hands when he was hanging off the crane and that would of been the end of bond
James counted those shots
same story goes for all Bond actors right from Sean Connery ...to .... daniel craig .... the Writers give make sure the villain is always one bullet short !
@@MrJhuncon Did he count how many clips he had too?
@@eddy4688 You ask James. If I was in his situation I would count that.
Next question please.
Over the top, totally ridiculous, and still one of the best scenes ever (not just bond either).
For the series’ history this is pretty moderate in terms of ridiculousness. Casino Royale was supposed to be a grounded and gritty reboot like Batman Begins.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ I think it did a good job with that to be fair.
@@claritycontrol1530 yeah they did with this movie, too bad they threw it all away from the next movie onwards..
P
It's definitely not over the top or ridiculous. I once chased someone through a construction site as well and it was very similar to this. Jumping onto cranes and running through fake walls and all!
The part where Mollaka climbs up the beam using free-running was the moment where I realized this was going to be one pretty damn awesome movie. The whole sequence is a sensational piece of work. Hard-hitting and visceral. You really feel Bond's pain and his determination while chasing the guy. And a bit of Mollaka's, too, when he starts getting treated like a rag doll in the embassy. Almost feel bad for the guy. Almost.
3:02 Underrated moment when they just madly throw the empty gun at each other.
How is it underrated? Makes no sense this whole sequence is well regarded
I didnt know individual scene moments had a rating? The whole scene is remembered I dont think we need to worry about specifics....
This is what peak parkour looks like.
If I'm not mistaken Lott, the guy is actually one of the founders of parkour.
There's a ckeck there, does that mean verified?
Hardcore parkour!
@@cjallen2010 - he put it there himself!
do you know how many people have died trying to do these stupid stunts. This is a disgrace
Let’s all appreciate bond getting in a digger and leading a brief path of utter destruction for virtually no discernible reason
He gets shot at and is saved by the bullet resistant glass, I’d say that’s a reason.
He couldn't walk in because the fucker could have been hiding anywhere and shoot him. He had to take the digger
@@MaxwellAerialPhotography That bullet resistant glas thing was also used later in the fuel truck pursuit.
Not getting shot in the face, no?
It's the British Way
Best parkour scene of cinema history.
These movies just felt more real and grounded than previous Bond movies. Like not too over the top crazy, but still believable like it could definitely happen.
U are right I think same too
4:42 People in the theater thoroughly enjoyed the smashing through the wall scene. It shows early Bond is a brute enforcer and not a sauve agent later on.
Hulk copied it later
Never picked up on that before, but now you mention it it does look like a good way to show someone being more 'rough around the edges' than someone we know more familiarly later

Copied it from The Kool-Aid Man
Best Daniel Craig's movie in competition with skyfall
2 of the absolute best in the series, potential top 5s and easy top 10s. Massive shame that he's also responsible for 2 (potentially 3) of the very worst.
@@tcaudiobooks737 spectre was still good. people just say it's bad because skyfall and casino royale were SO good
@@tcaudiobooks737 na I think NTTD won't be so worst as you say. I think it's an candidate for Top 10 Bond movies
Both of them are the best of the series and D. Craig is with S. Connery the best Bond ever
Still not sure which one is better. They are both phenomenal in their own ways.
I love "Casino royale" which is my favourite Bond film. To me, this "parkour" chase scene is very impressive, probably the best among all Bond films. I have been wondering why Sébastien Foucan didn't get more opportunities to act in other films and have the career he deserves.
I think this scene is waaaay over the top, Mollaca is just a video game character.
Agreed, Sebastian is also the founder of parkour free running, I’m sure if he wasn’t ‘black’ he would definitely be in more movies.
When I saw this at the cinema, I had sweaty palms.
Most exciting into to a James Bond film ever.
This was the the best bond movie of Daniel Craig (imo).
No Skyfall bro ❤️
Gotta love how Bond uses his the environment to his advantage since he's at a disadvantage when it comes to his parkour skills
Yeah!
The soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
This is the only Bond chase sequence I've ever seen where I didn't believe Bond should be able to catch his prey. There's no way anyone would even try to keep up with insane parkour like Mollaka's.
Actually he can…he doesn’t have physical skills that can match Mollaka, but he uses environment and brains to settle the odds
Thats why he uses a truck
huh, its almost like that's the whole point of the scene. to have your hero outmatched and has to use his guts and wits to get the job done
Quite simply the BEST chase scene I’ve ever seen in any movie.
At this point I can’t imagine a bond movie without Daniel Craig. However it must have also been difficult when Sean Connery was leaving so I guess we’ll find out how good will the new one be.
When they first announced that Craig was going to be the new Bond, I was like WTF?! Daniel Craig, this skinny english actor in Layer Cake (with the skinnier Tom Hardy...)? You can't be serious. This guy's a really good actor but not really an action movie actor, anyway not suitable enough to play 007.
Oh boy was I wrong...now I couldn't imagine a better match.
Maybe they will cast Justin Bieber.
People said Heath Ledger would be a terrible joker... The new Bond will be fine whoever they choose.
My knees hurt just from watching this scene. I'm getting old.
This scene instantly brought the previous Bond film Die Another Day to total shame.
the music and camera angles tied together from 2:25 to 2:50 is just AMAZING
Lots of visual story telling in an action sequence. Throughout the chase we see Bond get the crap beaten out of him but he gets up and keeps on moving. Bond also knows he can't catch up to the runner, so he uses his environment to take an easier or more direct route than the guy he's chasing. In a 6 minute scene with very little dialogue we learn that Bond is driven, tough, ballsy, and smart. Obvious qualities of bond but its nice to see some thought went behind the scene, and there's as much substance as there is style.
Quite possibly one of the best foot chases ever put to celluloid.
IMO, the most impressive, jaw-dropping action/footchase/fight scene ever. EVER.
Still remember watching this for the first time in the theater after sooo much anticipation, and immediately thinking THIS IS GOING TO BE EVEN BETTER THAN I HOPED!!! DC > all and Casino will always be my favorite Bond movie
I love this film I saw him again last night
@Croatian_gamer [SGE007] really? Great
@Croatian_gamer [SGE007] great
For me this was the best Bond film of all time, every scene was excellent and the story flowed flawlessly, to top it all Eva Green was superb and brought a new dimension to being a 'Bond girl'.
pls tell me the tittle of movies
@@tiliksewayal1809 Casino Royale.
2:55 - Nice catch Mr Bond
Mollaka's get away skills are so damn impressive, he has the total control of his body, he simply fitted the caracter! Thumbs up for this brilliant actor.
This was the Entry sequence and the best part of the movie
Whoever this man Bond is chancing really has parkour and free-running skills.
@@jacksharman3695 woosh
He invented it
Sebastien Foucan (the guy getting chased) is actually one of two people credited with inventing Parkour.
Bond, driving machinery: chase smarter, not harder
Sad part is that the next movie Quantum of solace was not even half as good as this film
You could say skyfall made up for it
This is the best Craig Bond movie.
It was perfectly fine actually, never understood the whinging and whining
@@theyellowlightsaber3193 its the editing I feel nauseous every time I see quantum the story was alright but needed tweaks
@@GrosvnerMcaffrey I didnt notice anything, if youre talking about the speeding car chase at the start I duno what people expected, its a speeding car chase, why are people worried about fucking editing, hardly a reason to dismiss the entire rest of the film.
4:57 super underrated cool shot, that's overlooked because it's low key compared to all the other really cool shots this scene gave us. Bond and Mollaka take separate jumps down and they're perfectly synchronized!
5:29- Guard is already holding his papers before he got there. LOL!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Daniel, the best bond ever
I love how Bond cares so little about property damage hahaha
Maybe that’s why he’s going to casino Royale, to get the money to pay for the damage
I don't think he was taught to respect property lol
One of the best opening action scenes I have watched
4:10 can’t unsee it anymore
When I was a kid, the first Bond movie I ever saw in theaters was (unfortunately) Die Another Day. Imagine how confused I was when I saw this scene, wondering if I’d walked into the right movie theater. This was Bond like we’ve never seen him before.
was
Don’t say Unfortunately Die Another Day because that film was truly a masterpiece and certainly the best Brosnan Bond Era Film in my option. But Casino Royale is a Masterpiece too, I loved Die Another Day came out a year after I was born and I’ve watched it so many times and this one too and others always been a massive Bond Fan but I think Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were one of the reasons of me being a massive Bond Fan starting when I was a young kid. Then Skyfall came along my Favourite Bond Film and Casino Royale my second Favourite and Die Another Day another of my Favourites.

Can we appreciate the fact that Bond's INSANE LEVEL OF CARDIO+STRENGHT is what made him keep up with a master of Parkour?
Just check out Bond's (Daniel Craig) credentials in wiki ,you will know what he is capable of
Very impressive for the first Bond film of a new era back in the early 2000’s.
But this was mid-2000s not early 2000s, the early 2000s Bond Movie was Die Another Day which was another masterpiece beside this.
I adore old school action & adventure movies like this. This scene is so epic and raw. You don’t see movies made like this anymore sadly. They’re very few and far between in this day and age.
Best chase of any kind in the Craig era - change my mind
Casino royal one of best bond movie❤👍🏿
literally just got back from a party, drunk af, had to pop this one on netflix. then this pops up in recommended. best 007 of all time
Best Bond in history Daniel Craig !
Lol i laugh so hard at this 3:02 😂
Best Bond opening sequence ever!
Daniel, you upped up the level of Bond so high that it would be really hard for the next guy to catch that & the Bond Production House have the most real tough job ahead !! I am sure they could easily pre-empt that the next Bond movie is going to Fail without doubt even if they hire Ben Affleck Or Idris Alba as next Bond. Well done Daniel, you were the best Bond of our times ..you did a great job 👍🤘 ..Salud de la India 🇮🇳
3:09 I always love that scene with Sebastian that guy in the green top goes toe to toe with Daniel Craig in the white top
Best chase scene ever. No cars with rockets and flamethrowers needed (though they've always been fun, too!).
