Garbage trucks do that in the US too I heard a story about a kid who got dumped in a garbage truck while he was hiding in a garbage can luckily one of the drivers saw the kid fall into truck and they stopped the hydraulic press before he was crushed.
Yes, it's the same in the US!! It has always driven me bonkers that kid's shows/movies/etc., play up this "silly" trope of getting picked up by a garbage truck as if the worst thing that can happen is it drives away with you inside and it's smelly....in reality, trash can have a lot of dangerous, sharp objects mixed in and the trucks compress the trash as they go!
The most disappointing thing about the show is that we never got to see Cat’s brother
Plot twist; Maybe Cat is actually an only child who has repeatedly been manipulated by her sexual harasser that she has a brother and he is that person.
And yet people love Dan Schneider’s shows by jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon as if the haters were toxic but the fans weren’t for ACTUALLY disrespecting opinions!

Cat in Victorious was kinda a crack head but she wasn’t just straight up dumb. Cat in sam and cat was a totally different character.
Cat is a character who suffers from unresolved and untreated childhood truama. For crying out loud in one episode she had a full-blown severe panic attack that knocked her unconscious. If that happened in real life she would have most likely been brought to the emergency room.
Also if Cat was a real person she would have most likely been taken away by CPS as a child. And her brother would not be legally allowed to go anywhere near her or have contact with her.
Also in Victorious she was constantly treated as less intelligent and talked down to. Jade even said it herself that she sees her as more of a pet than a friend.
They made her character worse in sam and cat tbh.
And now in real life…

Ariana was actually pressured to act childish during her Nickelodeon times, even out of character. Her hair problems also started because of the Nickelodeon contract. I always thought that her feud with Jennette was less about payment and more about the fact she wanted to leave Nickelodeon.
Well, remember Jennette was also a child actor. Nick pt two young women who never really had a real childhood under the spotlight and as co-leads, especially after leaving shows that were supporting actors in. This is bound to cause problems.
This happens a lot with co-stars, especially female ones, in TV shows: Naya Rivera and Lea Michele in Glee, Kim Catrall and Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, and even Ari was in a feud with Victoria Justice near the end of Victorious.
Fortunately, they both got out of that environment and are doing well for themselves.

After reading the book by jennette mccurdy and knowing what she was going thru during this show. Man its rough I would recommend anyone read her book.
I suspect her story also mirrors the story of many other child actors. I mean do such small children really dream of becoming actors or is it only their parents (often mothers) who pressure them into this life? I'm afraid it'll often be the second option. which also shows we as audiences should be far more kind to child actors and their performances.

It's because she was a main character so we had way more time with her in the spotlight and less interesting characters for her to play off. She was comic relief but they just exaggerated her "funny" parts without giving her more personality.
She was good for the first two seasons of Victorious; but somewhere around the 2nd-3rd season they just flanderized her silliness and took away all her brains and made her 1000-times more childish then she was. I love Cat, but she became a parody of her former self in the later seasons of Victorious and it worsened with Sam and Cat.
Janette and Ariana had so many issues with Nickelodeon on each side of their careers but hid it all behind the scenes until one of the actors had spilt all of things that happened to them.
Janette had a eating disorder. And they made her the character with a obsession with food.
Ariana had alot of hair issues because she had to dye it red ALOT.
Janette and Ariana both got sexualized as they worked together in the same show, the producer would always hug them and touch them in disturbing places and it was terrifying based of a tweet Ariana posted later after the show aired.
Janette was still deciding about doing the show. They asked her 4 months after iCarly ended and she still took a couple years to decide because she was still a young kid so she had no idea if she wanted to or didn't. They later told her she was on the show but she still wasnt done. Since the show was only 1 season they had to take the time to consider if she wanted to or not.
Nickelodeon would've gotten copyrighted and eliminated badly if they used Dice as a drug dealer. That was their original plan but their ticket would've been beyond 700,000 dollars. So they made him do his sales and quirky jobs.

Episode 1: and so they met
Cat was doing a stunt for a movie or series she was casted for as an actress. In which she must jump into a trash truck on the street. Sam was at the set eating her burrito from the food truck. She exchanged with the owner, that she travels around the country do food reviews, blog, vlog and recive for her one woman show enough money to do this for a living. Then something went wrong at the stunt cat was doing, Sam saved her and the filming couldn't continue on that day, because of that mess. Director Goober saw potential in Sams ability and offer her a job as stunt double. Sam refuses. Cat thanks Sam for her saving and offers her to stay at her place. Sam accepts. They met cats Nona at her place. Nona strangely sees Sam as person she meet before. But couldn't figure out why. Sam made it clear that she had to move to the next city, because of a new restaurant review and the promise of money. Later they have dinner together and Cat says that she maybe quits her role in the movie or series she audition for. Because she couldn't do the stunts and acting together and wanted to return to Hollywood arts without finishing the series. (in this Canon Hollywood arts allows its students to take a break from school, if one of its students successfully audition for a series or movie) Nona and cat have a discussion about it and it got heated. Meanwhile Sam ate everything on the dinner table. Making Nona angry, but then Nona remembered that behavior and searched the whole apartment up and down to find a photo. It was a photo with Nona, Sam's mother and cats parents. She showed it Sam and she freaked out. The valentine's were friends with Sam's mother, before Sam's mother decided to move away. Nona reminiscence about how they spend time together and how she met her father. Sam was curious and wanted to know more. Nona said she doesn't know more about Sam's father but maybe cats parents knew more, but they are often outside the country for business and will return in a month. Sam's said Oh and she was heading to sleep. The next day she drove cat to the filmset in which cat wanted to tell director goober, that she is going to quit. But Sam intervene and said that she will become the stunt double for cat. Cat was happy and offered Sam to stay at their place until the series ends. Sam said:" it's a huge opportunity for you, but also a huge opportunity for me to gain information about my dad". They hug it out. Roll credits.
More exciting and it promise more character development. What do you think?

_Sam & Cat_ is now mostly remembered for being one of the most colossal flops in the history of children's television for a multitude of reasons:
1) Originally, it was planned to be a spin-off of just _iCarly_ titled _Sam & Fran,_ hence the title being a pun on San Francisco, where the show was supposed to be set in. Rumor has it that the role of "Fran" had been offered to Piper Curda (who went on to co-star in _I Didn't Do It_ on the Disney Channel) and eventual _The Thundermans_ star Kira Kosarin. But then, Nickelodeon decided to cancel _Victorious_ and bring the character of Cat Valentine over to the new series, leaving us with what we ultimately got.
2) A major complaint about this show was an abrupt return to using a well-known song as its opening theme (namely a cover of War's "Why Can't We Be Friends?" performed by Sean Kingston and Jasmine V), after Miranda Cosgrove was finally allowed to sing the _iCarly_ theme song. Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande were reportedly offered to sing the theme, but declined as they wanted to focus more on comedy.
3) Critics were unhappy with Nick's decision to give Jennette McCurdy her own _iCarly_ spin-off, especially since _iCarly_ itself was a spin-off of _Drake & Josh,_ fearing that Nick would burn her out for good; indeed, _Sam & Cat_ got the lowest Rotten Tomatoes rating of any Dan Schneider series up to that point.
4) Similarly, the ratings plummeted as the show went on, not only being beaten by the likes of _Good Luck Charlie,_ _Jessie,_ and _Liv & Maddie,_ but also other new Nick shows such as _The Haunted Hathaways_ and the aforementioned _The Thundermans._

Loved Sam and Cat as a kid. But I’m now realising that it was a genuinely pointless show and it seemed like Nickelodeon forced it into existence.
Cat’s entire character had just changed. In the first season of Victorious she actually sounded and acted like a teenage girl at times despite being a little eccentric. But in Sam and Cat, she just seems like this high pitched, insane, and sometimes stupid little child.
I can’t really remember if Sam was always so rude on iCarly but in Sam and Cat, her behaviour is straight up obnoxious and it makes you dislike her character at times.
Sam was rude in ICarly. But as the show went on, her character became a lot nicer and less violent. There was even an episode towards the end of the series where she stood up and defended a little kid that was being bullied. Sam and Cat completely abandoned all of that character growth
And yet for some reason, I think I remember thinking Cat was attractive. I think I have a thing for redheads. Even if it was dyed for her character.

When I was in high school, my grandma died so my grandpa moved to a complex for seniors since he could take care of himself but needed stuff to keep him busy & people to spend time with. It was like a place with condos for people ages 55+ & the have this big main building where seniors who need more help can get it. My grandpa was a single young man there, he was like around his early 80's when he moved in & from my understanding, there were a lot of single women in their 90's & even some over 100. Apparently, he was very popular with the ladies but his heart still belonged to my grandma, he would buy flowers for her every week at the nearby Safeway & put them in a vase next to her picture, he did that until he wasn't mentally stable to do so anymore. Wanted to point this out because yes, that was super accurate, if you're a single man in a retirement center, yeah, you're gonna be very popular. He moved into there in 2009, I was like 17 at the time so from my understanding, he was very loyal to my grandma & things never got past flirting but there's a chance my family kept things from me, I'll just keep it in my mind that he was loyal to my grandma even after her death but if stuff happened during his stay there, I'm 30, I can take the news but could be stuff he took to his grave, odds are if any of the ladies did advance with him, I'll never know.

I used to hate it bc I only saw the Saturween show and without context it was really confusing. Plus at the time I was weirded out that two shows got a conjoined spin off. iParty With Victorious was all the crossing I felt I needed at the time. But I recently got way too into it about a week or so ago and I kinda love it.
Sam was my favorite character growing up. And she just had at least a 90° character change. I felt like she cared more about Sam than she did about Carly and Freddie sometimes. She always tried to fix things for Cat:
-saved her from the garbage truck, when usually Sam would laugh at someone’s misfortune
-sad that her nona moved out? Sam decided to stay and be her roommate even when she wanted to go off and bike around
-their favorite show got canceled? Cat cried about it and broke the windshield wipers off the producer’s car bc she was on it, trying to keep him from leaving. Sam made her laugh by wiping her tears away with the wipers. Then created a scheme to get the apartment furnished with all the furniture from the set
-Cat gets in trouble for stealing money from the ATM after Sam told her not to bc she didn’t want to end up in juvie? Sam gets herself arrested to go with her because Cat couldn’t survive juvie
-Cat creates Yayday and Sam doesn’t celebrate gift giving holidays bc she never had a good gift. And Cat snoops and opens the mislabeled mouth/foot wash present that was for Goomer, and gives Sam’s jacket away and gives her a dirty pillow bc she thinks Sam got her an awful gift. Sam opens her gift and is clearly upset then realizes Cat and Goomer’s labels got messed up and gives Cat the jump rope she had been wanting for a while. Sam doesn’t celebrate gift giving days and she still made sure she got things everyone would’ve loved or really wanted.
She still had her usual Sam antics, and defended herself and others when she needed to. But it really felt like she cared more.
I’m not saying Ari didn’t deserve the wage she got, but Jennette definitely deserved more. If Nick HAD to play that dirty game, Jennette should’ve gotten more specifically because:
-Sam Puckett was iconic to Nick and was played for 5 years at least before Sam and Cat
-Jennette was able to pull off a growth of character and a decent character arc for Sam Pucketter
-and let’s be honest, she put up with so much shit from them to begin with
I actually like Sam and Cat and it made me love Sam even more.

You still have so many disney shows you can do it least from the early 2000s all the way to the 90s. The Famous Jet Jackson, Smart Guy, Brotherly Love, Growing Pains, Flash Forward. These are what I grew up with and they are all pretty good. Growing Pains even gets little Leonardo Dicaprio for 1 whole season if I remember correctly.
