The fact he did eveything on his own and won Mr Olimpia 6 times. Is fckin crazy. This man knew eveything about his body and I don't think ppl realize how hard it can be to be peaked perfectly right before u step on stage and all the minor adjustments u have to make all the time esp before a show. It's kinda mind blowing he did it all on his own and got the results he did
I could listen to Yates talk about paint drying and I'd be fascinated, the way he portrays himself and the way he gets his point across is awesome.
"If a man has enough power, he can speak quietly and everyone will listen" - Jake Roberts
I know exactly what you mean. Notice his temperament is always laid back
What a beautiful man! So proud to have been the FIRST Pro Photographer to have covered Dorians first comp in Morecambe with Peter!
Yates will always be the greatest bodybuilder ever
Dam right
Pure hardcore
That's debatable considering there have been several other incredible bodybuilders. Yates was great but he didn't have the prettiest physique.
I think Ronnie is the best but DY is my favorite... if that makes any sense lol. I like his mentality and insight so much it makes up for the 1-2% better that Ronnie was. I really don't think it's debatable that Ronnie's physique was more ascetic, Dorian was more of a guy that just smashed everyone with his size.

Let's get nasty yaaaates!!!!!
A lot of body builders speak but Dorian Yates is the one who comes across with the most logic. Fascinating and intriguing as always
I think ive seen every dorian yates interview and didnt think anyone would draw anything new from him, but you surprised me. You did it in such a chilled out and natural way, i mean you went to the mans town, makes the interview so much more relaxed. that made the interview so much more genuine and natural and Dorian ended up going into more detail and just speaking more as a result. Awesome job!
Dorian is a genuine honest person who says it as it is ! Very rare these days’
One of the best interviews I have ever watched. Incredibly underrated
All men die few men ever live let alone become legends .
Arfabiscuit I don't know if you said it or someone else , but you have it just right
Robin williams
Rogans podcast made me look for all DY interview
Go for London real interview of Dorian
Dorian Yates is my hero. This is one of his best interviews yet. From his bodybuilding career to his spiritual development and life. He is inspiring
GREAT INTERVIEW !!! The best bodybuilder of all times !! Met him 3 times !!! NO BULLSHITE, JUST AN AMAZING HONEST GUY WHO YOU CAN ASK EVERYTHING
King among men. Great interview.
Dorian my father had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 3 back in 2005. He had his chemo and he's still alive today almost 15 years later.
Best interview i have ever watched! SERIOUS!!!!
Holy fkk! This was a very lengthy and informative interview! Possibly the longest he's ever been a part of. . You can tell how in depth this really became as the daylight faded away into darkness :D
Total respect to the conducter of the podcast and to the shadow himself for some rock solid info and stories.
Loved every word.
Met the man in Golds Gym Venice over a year ago when he was promoting the DY HIT class seminar. Total class act.
Hellthrasher Not sure if you’ve heard it but he did another 3-hour gem with Joe Rogan- felt like it flew by in 30 min
Another one?? I know of the first one he did a few months back. .
Great interview. Dorian talks so much sence and a honest decent guy.
if i ever had the privilege to be trained by Dorian i would be 2 hours early !! number one Mr Olympia !
Dorian is true legend..bodybuilder of bodybuilders...very inspiring and motivatinal jus to see him and listen to him..
You’re my top favourite #1 bodybuilder!!☝️
Best podcast Iv seen yet. Great job on both accounts. Fascinating and informative.
dorian yates, a boy from a farm that became a champion bodybuilder. from small beginnings he managed by his own endeavours to bring the attention of the world to the achievements of an ordinary guy with an extraordinary self discipline. a colossus of a man in every respect. anyone that has had the opportunity to meet with him will know he is the real deal, respectful, honest and insightful.
aticus aticus farm! Bell end
ignorance is a terrible handicap mr ratner and you have it in buckets. mr yates grew up on a small holding, his mother kept horses and hens etc. if i might give you some advice for any further comments you may be inclined to offer, " think before you speak" look in the mirror and ask yourself, "who is the bell end now" ?
What retarded tomfoolery is this??
Cracking podcast could have watch this all day great work
watching right now, cheers guys
One of my favorites, fantastic interview!
Dorian is a legend. Looking forward to reading his autobiography 👍🏻💪🏻

I like how the day becomes the night in the background
"Into the shadow"
Without a doubt, the best Dorian interview i've seen👍
A great--and very down to earth conversation. Thanks to both of you.
Awesome interview! Great array of topics and insight into Dorian.
Loved this, john you need to do more of these podcasts 👍🏻
Helluva interview! Never get bored listening to Dorian. Well done.
Excellent podcast!!!
Absolutely great interview, I agree with damn near everything Dorian says and believes, there is a core of us old school guys that do think a lot a like specially those of us that watch this sport grow in the 90s ! Good job buddy, u earned a new sub ! Hopefully there will be a part two ! There’s not many videos that can keep my attention more then 10 min but I watch the entire interview and burnt my evening out Lol well worth it !
love it great interview
Great interview. Thank you. :)
Great interview. Dorian is such a decent guy seems honest and talks so much sense. Living legend.
I enjoy listening to this man he has lot of wisdom
Amazing interview. I’m agree with everything that you talking about in reference to bodybuilding. I train and I coach my athletes the philosophy of Dorian

Great interview. One of my favorite’s ever
Kick ass intro..plus the Shadow...Instant upvote.
I love Dorian Yates. He should be the new most interesting man in the world for dos Equis.
You will always benefit from listening to the great Yates.

Dorian Yates: from shadow to spiritual enlightenment
From the shadow to the light!
Yea. That’s master mind and body for Real
GOAT
One of the best interviews 👌
Stop interrupting him John!!
Great stuff John
This mans just the greatest ever !!!
Great podcast/ interview. Nice to hear a fellow northerner interviewing! I could listen to The Shadow read the phone book and I’d be engaged.
Dorian is very, very gifted and also a very cleaver man. Amazing Mind since his 20s
WE LOVE the SHADOW !
The way that Dorian has adapted to retirement is just as inspirational as what he achieved in his career.
Two old school bodybuilders talking sense 👌💪
Happy to see Yates exploring new things and liking Yoga. He has done it all and got the t-shirt, so knows exactly what he is chatting about!
"If you blew up my house, I will go to hotel and get my 2 hr nap in". Don't think any athlete in the world will say that! Pretty much sums up Dorian's dedication.
Arnold already said similar in pumping iron about if someone stole his car.
Makes so much sense when Dorian said about getting ready for a show a few weeks out. That's the exact reason Nathan is going to win the New York pro.

I wish that interviewers would ask their questions and then be quiet so that the questions could be answered. Seems to be a common problem. You want to hear what Dorian has to say without constant interruption.
I saw Dorian at a posing sesh in West Yorkshire at a pub called the Barnsley oak in the mid-'90s and was frankly astounded at what I saw. I was bubbling with questions but barely dared to ask. As times gone by I`m now finding myself fizzing with questions on a far more broad-reaching level with Dorian. His muscular structure was beyond comparison, but the front of his mind was and is far wider than the back.[ Pun intended]
A great spirit.
He might not be my absolute favorite bodybuilder from a physic-standpoint but he is the most interessting to listen to. Loved the London Real and JRE interviews. Dorian Yates and Tom Platz are the best ever!
The man.
He is a businessman now. This is what most bodybuilders do upon retiring.
“ For the mass “ 👊👍
top bloke
Dorian become a yoga rebel :)
Yoga is great .. good to balance the body out
If you did a seminar in Denton, was it at Betta Bodies Gym?
'how you gonna turn that off' thank God he did and is still alive today to tell the more than interesting tale, what an amazing dude. I reckon the injuries saved his life even Nasar is no longer here...
Amazing!
A nice man agree 100% about what he said about the media , cannabis always be no 1
Are you Muslim?
According to this interviewer he is Dorian's twin. Constantly having to acknowledge that he has done everything Dorian has.
I get a vibe of him trying to relate with Dorian... but I didnt get him doing the "ive done it all too" vibe.
Anyone have a timestamp for when he talks about Kai Greene?
Kai was probably still having private time with a melon!!
Who wouldn't. That melon is round and thick.
Crazy how much smaller his left arm is to his right arm. Same arm he injured later in his career.
he says yeah so much
bm2g yeah, yeah he does 😂
Yeh I do apologies😂
great interview brotha
He's as good a man as he was a bodybuilder
I watch dorian guest possing at wembley arena I was shocked
wow, i orgainesd that show.
@@seculartalk9567 bullshit talk I'd call you
@@JWB86 why would i make that up.
I had charlie clairmote guest pose and the interview i got richards to do.
Anyway what a fucking great Video
1:58:15 Damn
I like how he never did the Arnold Classic and his general comments about Arnold.
I would love to see 93-94 Yates vs 98-00 Coleman.
Yates would win
Ronnie only matched Dorian's hardness and dryness when he was 245-50 lb in 98-99 but Yates competed at 257-260 lb.
Ronnie wins the front and back double biceps and side chest ,but Yates returns equally the favour in the side triceps, abs& thigh and front lat spread
the rear lat spread would decide it,and i don't think Ronnie at 245 lb would have the width to hang with a 95 Dorian Yates
In the quarter turns Yates would also have the edge since he is thicker and has more depth in the 2 side relaxed poses( especially compared to a lightweight Coleman). In the rear relaxed I'd say Yates is more balanced, Ronnies calves were tiny and glutes too large( no homo). In the front relaxed Coleman has a better V-taper and quad sweep but also in 98 version had a gyno...
Posing round is not even worth debating, Dorian was a better poser in every aspect.Hit the mandatories better and his transitions way better.Even in 98-99 Ronnie's side triceps or abs & thigh were awkward and crooked looking, also he didnthit the front lat spread effectively.Yates also had more variety to his routines,Ronnies were always a bunch of front and back double bis and variations of the most muscular, a pose that wasnt a mandtaory until 2004,aka it dont count for much.
