      @dennyishajohnson7826 Před 2 lety +33

      Now I could be wrong, but I believe I understand why the defendant won. The defendant let the plaintiff know she wanted out and that she was willing to sell the plaintiff her 1/2 of the business. All the plaintiff had to do was access the current value of the company and send an official offer to the defendant. When the Defendant “stole” the items, she was still part owner of the company so she basically moved her own items and so JM “divided up” what’s was left since it wasn’t half, which the plaintiff confirmed. The apartment is a non-issue because the lease ended and the Plaintiff obviously wasn’t charged anything for it or she would’ve added that to her suit. Whatever license thing the Plaintiff was relying on saying the Defendant wasn’t a legal owner of the company anymore was probably done illegally (like ignorant of the law kind) and that’s why Judge Mathis didn’t go into it.

    First of all, the ruling amount was incorrect based on what he asked the defendant. When the plaintiff said the items she had were worth way more than 5k, but she didn’t know how much, he turned and asked the defendant how much she WANTED for them and she said $3k… during the ruling, he said the defendant said the plaintiff’s possessions were worth 3k, thus splitting that in half (on top of the buyout money). She should’ve walked away with $4500 based on what he said during the case.

  • @Strawberryshortcakekittycat

    I agree with the judge for this ruling. The plaintiff confirmed that ownership is 50/50 and confirmed that the items she has left in the business was more than $5000 so the defendant left with less than half of their ownership. She offered to buy her out, if her name was removed from the lease. The kease expired and she never told her an amount. Her claim was dropped and because the defendant left with less than 50% of the dissolved business she owes her

  • @jomecia3
    @jomecia3 Před 2 lety +102

    Defendant didn’t need to win that. She got her money when she took the inventory. Whether they put in for the inventory or not she left the business and her buyout cost was set. At that point she didn’t own anything pertaining to the business.

    • @keepnit100

      @LemonStank Před 2 lety +10

      She wasn't given a buyout amount and wasn't paid either. Over 10k in inventory and the defendant only wanted $1500. Sounds like she just wanted out but the plaintiff really didn't want her to go.

      You can’t set a buyout cost on your on. It must be part of the contract or agreed upon. And you definitely have notify the other party of what you believe it is. She did none of that. Since she had no idea of the worth of her own inventory (liar) judge went with the defendant. The plaintiff is an idiot

    • @alexist7772
      @alexist7772 Před 2 lety

      That’s what I was thinking! If the plaintiff owned inventory worth more than the 5k worth of inventory the defendant left with, why did she say what the plaintiff had was only 3k and why did she get half of that when she didn’t return half of the 5k of stuff she left with? If the plaintiff said it was more, like 7k for example, would the defendant get 3500 of that?? So confused.

I agree she owed 50% and $1500 was clearly not 50%. The defendant took $5k then asked for $3k from what she left. The Judge I guess determined he would split the $3k and also make the Plaintiff pay $1500 buy out because she said she would before the defendant took $5k. Lol So that's 5k +1500+1500
