  • In this episode I review the quality mid range dhb Aeron FLT Roubaix winter bib tight and compare to the higher end Castelli Sorpesso 2 bib tights.
    After having Castelli bib tights for some time some issues have made me look elsewhere. A black Friday offer from Wiggle allowed me to try something different for not a lot of cash.
    How do the tights compare, and just how much do you need to spend to get some good winter tights?

    Great info on the two Brands, I'm always interested in ' the fit' details of a clothing garment, as more & more of us are buying online. I have just bought some dhb blok thermal tights, to use when I'm out winter mountain bike riding. I also will be wearing some Alpinestar Tahoe over pants.....this helps with the mud, rain and even the snow, here in North Yorkshire 😂.
    I've ordered a large in the dhb's ....Im only 5'7" have a 34" waste and a short inseam....the dhb reportedly have a shorter inseam than other brands i have looked at? we shall see.

      Glad you found this useful. Generally dhb seems to be all over the place with their fitments, fingers crossed everything works out for you. Take care and happy cycling 🙂👍

    Really useful video. Just got into road cycling and have been doing my research into gear. Castelli comes up again and again (GCN push it) and it definitely looks cool but I am old enough to want value for money. I bought some Altura shorts as they were ridiculously cheap. Very nice but time will tell how long lasting they will be. Your review was really to the point and really helpful. One new subscriber. Cheers buddy.

      Glad it could be of help. I have friends that swear by Castelli, and in fact my favourite winter jerseys are made by them, the tights and shorts are where I have problems with them. DHB certainly seems like a good alternative to all the expensive stuff. Loads more reviews coming soon though. Summer has been really tough for getting new content out but I will be back soon. Great to have you along! Take care and happy cycling 🙂👍

    Thank for the video.
    I'm planing to buy Castelli Tutto Nano and it would seem that I should buy it in L size being 5'11 at 80kg.
    What I believe would be a good idea to implement is;
    Having several dummies that are different in 'shapes' and sizes that could present the differences in Fittment. For example; One has longer inseam but is shorter overall and could were bibs with shorter shoulder straps whereas therone can't feet in shorter straps? But maybe they had already considered that?
    Just food for thought

      Hi Artur,
      Thanks for commenting on this video. For me there just needs to be a bit better a level of standardisation across the board for cycle clothing. Clothing is often expensive and very different in terms of style.
      Personally I do like the Castelli design and material used, it often lasts very well and can be perfect if it fits. It seems to me a little disappointing that there seems to be a large difference in fit. An Sorpesso 1 fit is close to a Sorpasso 2 fit - but is not exactly the same. This could just be a very slight variation between garments of the same model and size. However at the same time their aero race shorts in XL are far too small, and their Bodypaint skinsuit fit in XL is fairly good in terms of a very tight upper body fit, but the shorts are really let down by being loose around the gripper on the leg (we are not all built like pro sprinters!). Medium Jerseys are just a little short for me but the general fit is not all that bad, with Gabba's in a Large are just about a perfect fit. Its just a little bit of a mine field for me I am afraid and these tights are yet another example. DHB - first product, perfect fit! (maybe this may not be the case across their range but looking at the fit guide online they were perfect in this case.)
      So like you I would love to see some better consistency and possibly some form of standardisation. I am sure that Castelli fits some people perfectly though.
      Anyway, make sure you subscribe and like the video, but for not take care and happy cycling!

      Hi there! I own Castelli and DHB brands both on par if you buy $100+ bibs from either brand and $80+ jersey from either brand Castelli just more popular bc exposure it gets. I have pair of summer DHB bib shorts seams finally coming apart after 2 years and it’s their $45 model. I have $100-$200 Castelli bibs logo tends to fade away unless you buy the ones that are stitched in bibs ex: Castelli entrata bibs are good value for $100 logos stitched in bibs. Just got new DHB aeron bibs they look and feel like other $100 model bibs it’s up to you want brand you want. Castelli do make good winter jackets n vest I love them.

    Cannot watch this as you have put awful background 'music' under the talking. Pity, contentwise it might be a fine vid..
