There never was a final nail in Anakin's coffin. Vader and Sidious kept thinking that they'd finally extinguished the last traces of Anakin, only for him to pop up again. Killing Padme didn't do it. Killing the younglings didn't do it. Killing Watto didn't do it. Killing Obi-Wan didn't do it. Anakin was always still there. The Sith were wrong. Sidious was wrong. He never understood Anakin, any more than Yoda did.

Bit late but no thanks. Dave has a tendency to take a long time for his stories to have any meaning, and relies on the same concepts throughout all of them. Every single show has a young kid to make mistakes which he uses to inject crisis into the episodes. Grogu. Omega. Ahsoka. Ezra. Baby jabba?
All of them introduced in the first season of every show, and so far they've continued to be in the show until present or end except for bab jab. He'd do a better job than what we got, but that bar doesn't even exist. And to add to that, he does better than I can ever do. Doesn't mean my opinion is irrelevant.

We definitely need a Vader Series or trilogy about his inner struggle, relationship with poppa palps, and how his anger is translated in his fights.

Except for the last 3 movies, the entire saga has been about either Anakin or Vader. I might be wrong, but I think he's going to have a lot of screentime even in the Kenobi series, along with Ewan, I think he will have the most scenes...and I think his scenes will be introspective. They'll give the fans a lot of what they want with this series.
As for his personality...it seems as tho when he was Anakin, he was constantly fighting the dark side, and when he became Vader, he had to push away his light side tendencies...ultimately the light won...bec the man just wanted to save his loved ones.

I think in the end, if she really has survived through Rise of Skywalker, and all that, she should learn that Anakin returned to the light side.
This is just a bit of fanfiction that popped into my mind on the matter of these two. It may not be perfect, and probably will have some spelling mistakes but here goes-
I can imagine a scene of Ashoka in an old, abandoned Jedi Temple which was strong with the Force, and Anakin calls out to her in a voice she had not heard since... Then she opens her eyes to see Anakin's force ghost standing there. Not Darth Vader, but Anakin. There is a moment of shock, but through the Force she senses everything that happened. Like when Anakin fully turned to be Darth Vader. Only this time, it was his redemption. There is certain dialogue between the two as she looks at him. Just a sense of peace at last, as Anakin tries to ease her troubled mind. Along the lines of "There was nothing that could be done back then. Balance in the force was needed, and I was consumed by the darkness of the tasks at hand." Ashoka says it wasn't his fault that the council turned on him back then either. For they turned on her when she needed their trust. She was glad to see Anakin again, only she wished it were under different circumstances. Anakin understood, then he thanks her for being one of his friends back then. They acknowledge each other once more before he fades away, giving that old crooked smile she remembered so well. Anakin once more says "May the Force be with you, snips." Before he finally fades away. The remembrance of her old, annoying nickname brings a small, sad smile to Ashoka's face before she returns to the task at hand which called her to this Ancient Temple...

I feel like Ashoka not being able to turn Vader around lies in the fact that they are so similar, both Anakin or Ashoka resist the idea of turning back. Vader is actively rejecting or exterminating parts of Anakin that are still alive. In rebels when Ashoka sees the vision of Anakin she says (about leaving) “I made a choice. I couldn’t stay” and when she is shown the vision of Vader she cuts through it with her saber. Hm sound similar? they both take on new identities after leaving the order and resist turning back to their old lives (Ashoka probably COULD have opened the temple on lothal, but doing so meant saying something about her relation to the Jedi. Ashoka abandons her sabers, which is consistently referred to as a Jedi’s LIFE, twice in defining moments that significantly changed who she was as a way for the writers to signify she is leaving her life behind). This is why she couldn’t save Vader, Ashoka can’t turn herself around so she can’t turn Vader either. He is as much a harrowing reminder of her past as she is to him. Luke didn’t know Vader as Anakin so he didn’t need to turn him back, just to convince him of a different future.

I always thought that behind the mask of Vader in CW S7 there was a sad face of a man mourning his beloved apprentice "death", the last remnant of Anakin's light side was still there. In Rebels he was fully consumed by the dark side "Anakin Skywalker was weak, i destroyed him", and he attacked Ahsoka because she represented that past he wanted to leave behind.

Even Vader knew that she was alive because Vader visited a place where his spirit went into another realm to revive padme and he for seen him and Ashoka fighting in rebels .... so here vader knew she wasn’t dead and to further that she wasn’t dead was the bird flying in the air in which we seen his eyes mad a long pause .

It is indeed amazing how, in relatively little time, Anakin became a twisted servant of the Empire, his soul bound in a perpetual agony by the Emperor. I can't help but wonder if he would have been as deeply buried if he hadn't, soon after his dark transition, gotten deformed and disfigured from his battle with Obi-Wan. Would Asokha have had a chance of reaching Anakin and to have even pull him out of his darkened spiritual mire if he had remained, physically, the Anakin of old with perhaps still a remaining hope and future attached to him?? Do you think his incredible physical handicap all but sealed him in the dark side or does this matter at all and have had any impact on Asokha's valiant but failed chance at connecting again with her former master?? Please, anyone, feel free to comment and tell me what you think. I want to know how everyone else feels about this! Did we lose Anakin swiftly or all at once to the Emperor or was there a slim crease for a remarkable attempt by someone Anakin cared for to attempt a recovery of him in the early hours after his dark fall?? Thank you very much; I will be very interested and excited to read what everyone has to say!!

    • @WarriorofSunlight
      @WarriorofSunlight Před 3 lety

I think that it was Padmé death more than anything that really sealed him away because when he first wakes up he asks about her and then afterwards he becomes the Vader from the ot. Also, the emotional trauma of loosing everyone and everything that he cared about all at once and also his belief that the Jedi were to blame for it all. Not to mention he was manipulated by Palpatine his whole life and continued to be manipulated by him until his death. Anakin was always there to an extent but his alternate personality came to dominate until Luke came along. However, Ahsoka surely could have saved Anakin from ever falling to the dark side under different circumstances. She had many opportunities to do so.

If you read the Vader comic you find out he has a vision of Ashoka and him meeting in the future and that Vader himself (not anakin) will die. Vader also has internal struggles and conflicts with anakin as they always refer to one another as different people. This could’ve been Vader letting anakin grieve for a brief moment or anakin winning an internal conflict momentarily

Not sure how Vader didn't conclude that Ahsoka was still alive. If the buried clone troopers wasn't enough, you'd think that her lightsaber being placed directly in front of the burial ground would be sufficient evidence....... That being said, beautifully executed conclusion to the clone wars series.

Yeah i never expected ahsoka to save Anakin due to how much his life affected his mind in prequals. he watched his mother die and envisioned pademe die. He possibly thought he was too far gone like obi wan said on Mustafar. He didn't want believe there was good in him for long time, as someone who committed genocide is not good. The situation left him burning, legs chopped off, he killed his wife and child and now he is enslaved by man who swore to overthrow. yep ahsoka couldn't do much despite knowing what he was like before.

I interpreted this scene as Anakin coming to the site looking for Survivors even though he already would have been told that there were no survivors. The only reason he was there was because a lightsaber had been found and he was tasked with hunting down and destroy all remnants of the Jedi. Anakin knew the ship and he knew who and what was on it before his arrival. Anakin doesn't spend his time looking through debris, he walks right up to the spot where Ahsoka's lightsaber lay. He picked it up, ignited it, looked it over and paused at Morai flying overhead. What was he thinking? He was probably recalling what the brother on Mortis had told him, as all of it had come to pass. Accepting his fate, Vader extinguishes Ahsoka's lightsaber and turns his back on the clone helmet baring Ahsoka's markings, saying goodbye to his past. Anakin was gone.
Also, you'll remember that the sister or Morits' last action was a transfer of life. Acting as a conduit Anakin channeled the Force from the sister to Ahsoka, saving her life.

That will be emotional as hell and I think she needs that. She needs to know what happened in the end. She needs to know what he did right before he died...and she deserves to know about Luke & Leia.

I think on a subconcious level he gave her a pass. Someone had to care enough to bury the clones and her saber was out of the burial area so it pretty obvious there was a chance she lived. I think he wanted to be free of the past so he provided one last act of mercy as Anakin and decided to take her off the hit list. This frees him to be Vader and forget her as well as allow him to ease his conscience in a small way.
