On the vertical sides we would have made it long enough to have a 2” tab at the top. Use it to nail the piece and eliminate some visible fasteners. Also I used to carry a couple scratch awls to start holes and temporarily tack the piece up to check the end fit before committing to nailing it home. The awls also make the nail hole slightly loose for stock expansion.

I’d like to see a video covering your technique of wrapping brick mold on a steel sided house. Wow. My first time last week, what a headache! Nice video. Thanks for sharing this.

Great video. Thanks. How do you account for doors/windows in old houses where edges aren't actually straight? I've got 18 window to cap in a 1890 house and there's not a right angle anywhere

Great video showing how to take measurements and use a brake. Thank you for sharing with the world! Quick question, why use a hammer and nail to secure the coil? Aren’t there powered nailers that can do that better without risking a hammer hitting new coil and mucking it up?

All good other than running your knife off the end of your coil and into the aluminum hinge. I score three times from left to right and three times right to left never going off the end of the metal!

HI, thanks for the video; super helpful! Apologies for the rookie question but is it ever possible to avoid using nails? Could some OSI or other exterior adhesive be applied to the backside to glue the pieces into place or will that not be a long-term reliable result?

I had someone replace my old wood windows with vinyl ones and then they did wraps around them. They did a horrible job. The wraps are uneven and the caulking looks like a 5 year old did it. They are refusing to fix it. What can I do? If there is a way I could send you photos let me know. Thank you so much.

What kind caulking they used? Some of them cheap, so you can’t do proper work. For caulking better Tremco or Dow, but expensive

If you got that brake for $200 that is amazing. I can't find a single cam lock style brake for less than $1000 used. The old Tapco windy special will have to do. Sucks that it cannot do a hem though so I have to beat it closed manually then crush it in the jaws.

You said this is a 10’ door. If you were doing a 16’ door then have the option of the metal being 16’ without a seam but not the capability to bend it. So do you seam it?
