- With classic brass bells and K5LA air horns, these 1969 ex Metroliner Amfleet cab cars are arguably have some of the best sounding horns and bells on the Amtrak roster. Here’s cab 9644 leading train 645, a westbound Keystone to Harrisburg, out of Newark Penn Station. Enjoy!

Cool catch
I thought Amtrak scrapped real bells. Glad I was wrong.
Nice video
Great trains!
Why only a porthole for the driver?
I want to ride behind or in one of those! 😌
its pretty crappy, its a very rough ride and very loud compared to the amfleet cars, rode one all the way to nyc from harrisburg and the suspension bottoms out every 5 seconds
Anyone gonna talk about how fast he accelerated outta there?
Nice

Soon, these will be no more. They recently ordered Venture trainsets to replace the cab cars and Amfleet Is. IDK when the Amfleet IIs will be replaced.
They’ll probably be replaced with those train-sets but it’ll be unlikely for them to retire when they come
when don't like this Amtrak Metroliner Cab Car
What happend to the real metroliners that's an Amfleet car cab? The real metro-liner was wider and had like vent hoods on every car didn't have a yellow end
those amfleet cabs are rebuilt from metroliner mus
They took all the propulsion related equipment off of the cars, removed the covers on the roof and any kind of HVAC type systems that were housed under those covers were relocated to the underside of the car, removed the pantographs, and painted the cab ends of the cars in the yellow-striped safety paint. These definitely are the real Metroliners, just de-motored ....so basically an Amfleet cab car. There were a bunch of ex-Metroliner coaches that had even the cabs plated over and turned into plain coaches. I dont believe any of those cars are in service anymore though. They were mainly used on routes in Michigan.
