- Today the Amtrak SW1000R and Metroliner cab car got released. It's a disappointment, no surprise there. My driving was also pretty bad since I don't play much TSW. Enjoy!

Yeah, but DTG likes to build routes that are either really short flat out or "nEtWoRkS" like this route, which center around one hub. I will say though that LIRR is actually a great exception to this, and is a nice, decently sized route.

@@jayy9029 Yeah. Even though I would like another route in the east, Dovetail will probably make a route out west. If that's the case I'm hoping for a passenger route in California. Maybe the San Joaquin or something. Probably not the Pacific Surfliner though since it's already in TS. I just don't want some slow freight route. Those put me so sleep.
Random Railfan the heavy haul route was so tiring so I feel ya, and I’d really like another route in the east aswell because imo the east (especially my city, Boston) has rarely been focused on by dovetail games. I’m hoping we can get a Boston - Providence DLC so we can get Acela trainsets or just something new yk, but yea that’s my opinion.
@@jayy9029 Oh my god that would be incredible. I would love to see the Providence-Stoughton line! Maybe with the ACS-64, Acela, HSP46, F40PH, and maybe some CSX locomotive.

Wow! I haven't even bought this and I'll say there are just so many problems with this one just by watching this where do i start... The horn and bell are just terrible. They got the correct horn and bell, but they recorded it like they were standing 1000 feet away from the train outside, and put THAT as the interior sounds. All the sounds for this set in general are just horrible. Going to my next point here. Why the hell do i still hear the wiper in action after you leave the cab and travel a few cars down? That is the most bizzare thing ever. Don't even get me started on the lighting, that's an absolute joke. Even turning on the cab lights you're supposed to see everything in crystal clear lighting just like the real cab car, letalone the fact the sunlight should've done that job too. Then you got the passenger car view that is too bright. Even Railworks you get amazing lighting effects than this joke with almost every loco or cab car. I'M *NOT* exaggerating when I say the lighting and graphics looks better on Railworks than this DLC in general for TSW. Also the rain and the mist doesn't spray on the window properly defeating the purpose of the wipers (LOL), while on Railworks you got the Pacific Surfliner where they'll happily make the mist as realistic as possible. *They might as well have just released this for Railworks TS2019 instead!* Seriously! With that in mind it gives us the opportunity to install sound mods to fix the horrible horn and bell sounds while TSW is so closed sourced you're only locked to DLCs and that's it.
Alright just stepping aside this cab car for now, the route in general too. The train tracks from the Hudson Tunnel all the way to the end of the NY Penn platform looks like something out of pre-GTA San Andreas graphics, it makes Railworks Rail Simulator 2010's Castle Rock or Cajon Pass tracks look superior! Also not exaggeration. The Railworks version looks FAR more realistic, what the hell went wrong here is what I'm trying to understand. TSW had so much potential. I was impressed with their very first release of the CSX haul with the realistic loco and scenery including the tracks. The lighting was perfect inside the locomotive too. They also promised multiplayer integration in later releases of TSW and it seems that they have *completely* forgot about it and scapped the idea, and released the game *as-is* which is the biggest disappointment out of anything else I've mentioned so far.

@@radanju3 Yeah. I mean, this is a little extra that came with the SW1000R. The SW1000R is actually pretty decent when it comes to little details. For example, it has a startup procedure and movable seat.
@@TheRandomRailfan It's funny because when I got the email about this they were so fascinated bh the switcher that they barely talked about the ex-metroliner car. Literally it was only mentioned in one sentence in the whole email like it was not so special to them for some reason. Which might as well explain the poorly executed release of the ex-metroliner in the first place. It's a very special car, why would they only put their main focus on to the switcher and not both????
@@radanju3 Yeah. In my opinion billing it as a "pack" rather than just one locomotive would be a much better idea. More people would see that there's more value if DTG just named the product something like "Amtrak SW1000R and Ex-Metroliner cab car pack." I noticed that on steam there aren't even pictures of the cab car!

Lol yeah. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure TSW isn't as mod-friendly as TS19, so you can't just click and drag some Fan Railer mod packs into a folder.

@@cherylstallworth4627 Idk. I mean the lower ram just increases the probability for crashing it seems. I've never gotten a crash on TSW with ultra settings though.

DTG swept NEC New York and this loco DLC under the rug, so it isn't playable in TSW2.

@@jayy9029 If it's just the SW1000R it's $19.99 but you have to buy the game again for the route. It's currently on sale for $15 in the dovetail store if you're interested
