- It's been an insanely busy year for us this year, with more products released than we could possibly review. We re-adjusted our focus on the products that we felt were most interesting to our audience and that's meant we've had our hands on some REALLY cool stuff in 2023.
So what's left us most impressed in 2023? Let's take a look!

Biggest disappointment : Fanatec customer support and not shipping products but taking our money
Does this happen in the USA or in Europe aswell? Im thinking of getting one in the near future
In Europe as well, when they shipped my order they forgot a product, and that was in October……I am currently still waiting. So it’s at your own risk
@@martijnlangenkamp7959 well, guess ill see other options then...thank you
I'm from Germany. The orders before black Friday gone through flawlessly but after black Friday it's a complete mess. Now I have to wait months for my formula v2.5 x but they already took the money. No answer to mails and so on
@@martijnlangenkamp7959 same they don't include the free qr lite of my wrc wheel. But they don't answer to mails anymore
One of the biggest disappointments:
- Fanatec's shipping and customer service🤬
It should've been a great year for Fanatec, finally releasing 2 of the 3 products they've been hyping for years which seemed to be vaporware, plus a new wheelbase. But they've completely screwed up every aspect of online ordering, shipping, customer service, and actually sending products after taking peoples money. It's really bizarre how mismanaged they are now.
@@LeoDavidson unfortunaly yes😕. I am a first time customer and orderd in early november and still dont have my package yet. Honestly its my own fault for buying fanatec because i did read about people not getting theyre stuff but i thought the internet would exaggarete like most times, but...
On the plus side, i got a email on friday that my package should soon leave the warehouse, so i hope it arrives this week but i dont really think it will😕
Wish you a good start in 2024 bud! Stay safe
moza is worse
@@LeoDavidson I don't fully agree with you. Yes, the shipping has been annoying and wrong from Fanatec side (Even tho some part was also UPS, Fanatec could've managed better), yet this has been an amazing year for Fanatec. They sold the most products, only during BF they sold about 75k orders, and they are currently moving into their new HQ, and also hiring more people. I truly believe they are working on improvement big time. It's very logical that you pay for something right away when your order, this happens on many websites even on amazon, yet they are a much bigger company so they have everything right even on BF, Fanatec on the other side received so many more orders than expected, which they all explained in the yearly meeting (There have been some documents going around about this)
I personally ordered the DD2, V2 pedals and F1 LE wheel, and although it took about 4 weeks to arrive, I did get an email when I contact them within 48h. A big issue is that people have been spamming fanatec with new emails (if they work with a similar program as our company, it would make a new case every email), which would increase workload for no reason, for the probably small customer team that they currently have.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they haven't made any mistakes, they defenetly did, but people need to have some patieciene too, before ordering there were already disclaimers that orders could take quite a bit longer than usual.
Beside that I've heard it's hasn't been flawless with Moza either, so not only fanatec has this issue.
I emailed them 4 times in early October and still don't have a reply. So I won't be buying the PlayStation DD pro. I also emailed Moza and had a quick reply, but unfortunately they just said to keep checking their website. I wanted to know when a PlayStation compatible direct drive was coming out and roughly how many NM it would be. Looks like I will be sticking with my cheap Logitech system for now.
Here's to 2024! Thanks for the content this year and all the hard work that made it possible, Will and Tom!
Thanks for everything Will, I've never bought a product without watching one of your videos first, aside from my alpha U anyway. I was so torn on my pedal upgrade and your review of the VRS pedals sold me, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the effort, time and work you put into this. You're truly the pillar of sim racing content as far as I'm concerned. Have a happy new year man.
Fantastic work will! Thank you so much for all you do for the sim racing community! Your reviews are second to none and irreplaceable! I’m so glad we have you especially now that Barry has stopped making videos!
Thanks for all the great reviews and content this year! Your videos are a big part of how I got into sim racing. I picked up the Asetek Invicta after watching your review a few months back, and it's phenomenal (especially coming from 5nm).
Happy that you chose the Asetek Invicta as top wheelbase -- I just bought one a couple of weeks ago based on your review and I'm loving it.
Merry Christmas Will and all at Boosted Media. Your channel has had a fantastic 2023! Good luck for 2024, and I am looking forward to the VR rig and more VR content.
merry christmas to everyone at boosted media, thank you for awesome reviews all year 🎄
Super excited to see some of your simagic reviews for sure Will, can't wait to see all the fun stuff you cook up this year!
I mentioned this in an earlier video, I'm an ultimate owner, he mentioned he was working on something but not a firm eta.
I’m glad to have seen your channel blow up and grow the way it has, you didn’t let the negative ppl shoot u down. You kept digging and learning which is what drives most of us all in sim racing. When I take a break I always see your video pop up and well I’m ready to dust off the old VRS DFP. The U shake 6 was my biggest disappointment, I may try simhub. I feel it could be a great seat shaker. Merry Christmas happy new year!
Thank you will for another year of informative content, and some great driving videos 🙂 Wishing you all at Boosted media a great 2024.
Thanks guys for all the fantastic videos. I've only just tuned into this channel in recent months and your content has been great although I'm still sitting on the fence trying to decide what to buy :) Thankfully in some ways, there are not that many choices down here in Australia, especially in the tight ass price range. Merry Christmas to you all and looking forward to more in 2024. Cheers!
I love my simagic gear. The alpha, fxpro and q1 shifter are so well built. Pairing them with my racekraft tuned vnm pedals, im so bloody happy with my rig.
Thanks for your work Will. Wishing you, Family & Boosted Media a verry happy new years🏁
Thanks so much for all you do, this is such informative content. I went all in on Moza ecosystem for my entry level and it does not disappoint. I find myself becoming very comfortable with the r9 and will upgrade after reaching a certain level of proficiency.
Mr boosted media man, thanks for the content. Starting out the year I was in a tough place but also decided to start sim racing. After trying out the Logitech wheel, I fell in love with the hobby and found myself watching your videos throughout the year and ended up making more than a dozen upgrades later with your content as main guidance. Went deeper into your content and watched the video where you went deep and shared your personal struggles. I think that also helped me become more of a man more so than anything this year. Even though we're just enjoying our fun little hobby, thanks for bridging a lot of people through their own paths of enjoying something and themselves a little more.
Thank you for the whole year. I’m really happy for you to be able to achieve a good balance of premium content and personal life. You and Barry Rowland really became a standard for many of us in sim equipment reviews, although his calming voice is still unbeatable ;) I hope we’ll se more of your borther in 2024, or at least for a Happy New Year greeting.
Great video and sum up of 2023! Thanks for all your entertaining videos/reviews and lets see what 2024 will bring
Need a quest 3 review for racing as i feel that's whats more affordable for most people
I have one it works fantastic
Thanks for a year of awesome content!
+1 for VNM Pedals! I've got them as well, super happy with it. Thanks for all the excellent reviews, looking forward to the VR content.
The VNM's are fantastic pedals! Got them after the review and am very happy with them.
Enjoyed this! Happy Holidays to both you and Tom!
Thanks for all the work you guys/girls put in. Up to a new and interesting 2024! :)
I have watched HOURS of your content before buying my new equipment it has helped an enormous amount, keep this great content up!
Thank you for the round up!
Agree with the HF8. I already use a couple of buttkickers but adding the HF8 let me get really good localized feel for wheel slip. Genuinely made me a better driver.
@boosted media - I have the JetSeat version of the haptic seat, it is very well known in the flight sim industry, and you're spot on when you say you learn how the car feels. it is amazing.
Would love to see a comparison of the Alpha U vs Invicta vs SC2 Pro. Currently using a Mini w/ a CC F-Pro wheel, but looking to upgrade in 2024, and would like to see your opinion on the 3 side by side. I'm leaning toward the SC2, but I'm questioning if the extra $ is worth it. Thanks for your reviews!
Great job brother!
Review on Gomes Hyper P1 coming up?
Thanks for your content!
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Haptic gaming pad HF8 or buttkicker gamer plus or gamer pro?
Nah dude when bro jump cut to him using that mpx I thought he was showing us actual footage first.. first time I’ve ever been totally bamboozled by a sim and I’m so jealous lol. Bravo
Thanks for your job, Will, I built my whole setup based on your reviews, I have no regrets!!
Happy New Years Wil! Keep up the great work.
Great video Will. Thanks for representing the community and also calling out the bad that is happening along with the good. Really balanced video. Have a great new year
It would be great to see a mention of mid-tier hardware as i think you covered off really well on high end and entry level. Great content as always, Will. Cheers
Merry Christmas and happy new year
Asetek definitely deserves that best wheel base! Their customer support team is amazing also!
I’m super fortunate to have a Micro Center local to me.
I’m thinking of picking up a Moza R9 V2 + KS GT paired with the Asetek Tony Kanaan brake.
Open Box deals makes for some insane value. Patiently waiting to see if an open box Tony Kanaan bundle becomes available.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
What a great video, so helpful! Thank you very much!
Thank you for all your great content.
You are together with Gamers Nexus by far the best youtube addition in terms of reviews and feedback I have ever known.
I would like to know, do you have any plans on testing out projector setups?
Theoretically they dont seem that expensive compared to larger triple screens, but I cant find satisfactory feedback on youtube considering it.
Happy New Year to you and the family.
Biggest game changer for me was the P1000 Pedals with the haptic motors, They absolutely made me faster and more consistent due to the feedback that is going on with the brakes(ABS and wheel lock) and the cue to change gears (throttle feedback). They are are also great quality and precise. My second best purchase would be the HF8 Vibrating seat cover, Its a great bit of fun and I use it often as its much quieter and clearer then a buttkicker but I don't think I'd replace it if it broke. A Simagic wheel base is definitely on my radar, and I'm keen to see some in-depth info on the new simagic handbrake.
Would love to see you do a video showing how much modification you can do to a next level gt lite Sim rig, for people on a budget and wanting to pimp out there cheap foldable rigs
A good year for sim racing overall and a big thank you to Will and Boosted Media for the great content.
I'm hoping for more options in the low-mid range category and for Assetto Corsa 2 to be amazing.
Btw: Does anyone know what is that music called at the start? Sounds really good.
Will gives you a heart but doesn't answer the question, lmfao.
Would liked to have seen a best of at price points (low, med, high) but overall well done. Looking forward to seeing simagic included in this next year!
great video, i cant disagree with your choices. Great year for sim racers overall!
Best for 2024 a New year with all the great work and reviews. Thanks for all the content you brought to us, a great job an excellent year this 2023.
So again Thanks Thanks Will. Next year 2024 it will be more strong and better. Thank you so much for all you do for the sim racing community.
For me the best gadget this year are the haptic motors from Simagic! Attached them to my V3's from Fanatec and they are awesome!
Agree.. They are really game changers within the haptics!
My biggest disappointment was both EA and Microsoft releasing woefully unfinished games.
That seems to be a running theme in 2023.
True, I paid $99 for Forza, what a waste. Shittiest racing game I own. I uninstalled that piece of garbage!
Agreed, EA WRC became an arcade compared to DR2.0 simcade. Moving back to RBR.
I had to return WRC because the triple monitor support is god awful and after 2 hours trying to run all kinds of workarounds just to get triples and FFB to work, I just gave up and asked Steam for a refund. I didn't even get to find out if I was going to have the performance issues everyone has been complaining about. What a disappointment.
That's been a running theme across the entire gaming industry for the last few years.
Love the video Will! 💯
That was a nice video. Very appreciated! I’m on console (PS5) and looking for a good wheel base. Was planning to go with logitech g pro since I’m not really looking for a shifter or an eco system, but after seeing the video Im wondering if would be better Fanatec DD+ and go with the headache or anything else. Would really appreciate honest suggestions. Oh happy holidays!
I actually can't go back to racing without my hf8. It definitely adds great immersion once you get it dialed in with sim hub.
I have priced and speccd up a load of simagic stuff but have not yet pulled the trigger, so as the best sim racing hardware reviewer out there get that content published asap 2024 please!😂
Would really love to see both perspectives like older videos with Tom picking his favorite gear too!
I wanted him to be in this video but he was really sick when we shot it unfortunately:(
@@boostedmedia 👍 That sucks! Get well Tom! Maybe try to shoot what you want to see and predictions for 2024 together if possible. Thanks for a great year of sim racing reviews and info! Keep it up
Simagic review on Alpha mini with a small wheel and comparison with DD+ and la Prima
Thx 4 the vid. Shame you didn't get to test the new Meca Evo LC pedals, personally think they are great value for money, but have never tryed the VRs so wouldn't know wher eto place them.
It would be great to see a console edition to this for those that don’t have access to some of these wheels, but loved video overall
I don't know if this subject has been addressed or not, I'm trying to binge watch as many videos as I can. I put this here just because it's a recent video. On your pedal reviews, I have yet to see you touch on a specific adjustment. I'll try to explain the best I can. You talk about springs, elastomers, preload and such. But I see there is an adjustment with the arm that connects the pedal itself to the load sensor, hall effect sensor or potentiometer. The arm can be attached to 2 or 3 holes on the pedal arm changing the angle of rod. Have you made changes to this in the past and if so can you link the video. I'm guessing changing it changes the ratio that the sensor sees versus the actual pedal arm. I hope this is explained well, pictures would have made it much easier. Actually I have found one of your videos that gave me the answer I was looking for. It was the review of the Asetek Invicta Hydraulic Sim Racing Pedals.
Congrats Will! You and the team have done fantastic this year. All the work you guys do is unbelievable. You've also inspired me to start a sim racing channel in 2024 to share my experiences in the sim racing industry and just giving it ago to have fun
Simagic updated firmware made my Alpha U wheel base feel better than simucube 2 pro. What a difference just from a firmware update!
I had a feeling asetek would take it for wheelbase. My Tony Kanaan wheelbase is so amazing. I really want to know what the forte and invicta feel like, but thankfully I don’t feel like I am missing out on much of anything with the one I have!
As for the Logitech disappointment- I would have 100% gone with that if they had simply brought out a shifter. At th time I only had a ps5 and it was a great looking option. I have since bought a pc. I really miss playing gt7 but I don’t regret going with asetek.
Biggest disappointment has to be Fanatec. Their “Black Friday” deals still haven’t shipped and it’s now after Christmas. Just bad.
Yep agreed Christmas has come and gone and still no Fanatec delivery. Just an email saying they are now using planes instead of boats to speed up orders. WTH ..!
I got the vrs direct pro cause if your review and they are incredible coming from fanatec v3 which i loved but vrs are a big step up
To be honest I'm quite intrigued by the conspit cpp lite pedals. I saw the video on DaveCam's channel and they look appealing from a looks, features, and price standpoint. Though being honest I don't really care about the built in launch control feature, it's not something I see myself using very often.
Really wish you hadn't given the BSB as your innovative product of the year! Increasingly leaning towards this as my next headset, still on a Rift CV1, as everything else coming out is heavier than what I have now. Also been eyeing up my first DD wheelbase (Asestek la prima current front runner plus the Cube Controls entry formula rim). 2024 could be an expensive year 😅
Hey great videos. I would like to see you review, believe it or not, the next level racing wheel stand 2.0. I think a few of us would be able to gauge what you look for in a rig as far as stability level for the cost. I know wheel stands isn’t your thing but I’m wondering how you would rate this
I am still on my Fanatec CSWB 2.5 and happy. I tried direct drive and it doesn’t give more control. But yes, it is a bit more detailed.
As long as you're happy, no worries, right?
@@Omniverse0 I guess yes
Have you guys managed to review the Simgrade VX Pro pedals? I've been reading stuff for awhile and still torn between the Simagic P1000s, VRS, or Simgrade VX Pro
Hey Will, love your videos, I've bought all my sim gear after watching your reviews of it! I've been waiting for my Fanatec CS DD+ since October now and I'm considering cancelling the order, is the Asetek Invictus wheelbase that much better than the CS DD+ (ignoring the price difference)? Is it worth cancelling the Fanatec and going Asetek? I do already own the Invictus pedals which I love. Thanks
hard to compare 15nm base to 27, the Invicta is going to have a lot more fidelity just in the extra power it gives :)
This channel is one of the main reasons why this year I ended up getting a SC2 Pro, Cube Controls F-Core and Ascher Racing B24L-SC and VRS Pedals to replace my old Fanatec DD Pro in my 4090 VR setup.
Huge thanks to everything you do and great informative vids. Also an Aussie so it's good to see your video mention AUD prices for easy comparison. If you're ever in Sydney, beers on me!
Pedals i think p2000 should be considered up there because only simcube pedals offer haptic feedback in the pedals and for 3 or 4 times less the price you can get sim magic and have this innovative tech with very good pedals aswell
They’re biased against Simagic because one employee was very unprofessional with how they interacted with Boosted Media.
I’m so glad that a company from our country, Vietnam, with no name in sim racing community is actually producing one of the top pedals this year! I’m gonna get them next year for sure!
I must agree I bought the gpro very early and I do like it I play primarily on ps5 (don’t hold that against me) and I know it’s expensive for consoles etc but I was expecting the add ons to have come out already so while I’m happy with the wheel and it does the job at least the maclaren wheel which they eluded to would have been nice … thanks for all the reviews even though I’m fairly low in the pecking order of sim racing I race every day and get my fix ever since I finished karting a decade ago it’s the only way to get my racing fix
Great roundup. Are you going to test the Simgrade vx-pro’s in 2024?
You can use sim hub with PS5. But you do need a pc. I have pc in another room, it gets information from ps5 via wifi. Then the information for the bass shaker is sent via Bluetooth (because pc in other room) to a Bluetooth receiver that plugs into a plate amp that powers bass shaker. Way better than trying to use the audio out.
Excited for more VR content!
yeah, i have the GPro myself and it is a really awesome wheel and pedals if you setup them perfectly (ie 90 sensibility on the brake before ajusting the kg) but the only thing that sucks outside of NO Pro shifter and handbrake...(had to go with moza for those) is ; there's no F'n support at all for the awesomeness of Trueforce at all but the 3 biggest games on PC. the feeling is there 100% in ACC and dirt rally 2 or iracing. Why other games wont use it is my biggest frustrating thing about the wheel. and i can't wait to see their GT3 wheel and shifter if they ever release it,i hope so!
Great reviews, was hoping for some motion rig winners though? Is D-box the best or do you recommend another brand? Building a full motion rig this year.
Feedback suggestion: Hey you guys have awesome editing, and I think a great improvement would be to pop up the names on screen when said
I’m suggesting that because I hopped around the video, and when he said the names (after probably saying them multiple times), I couldn’t 100% make it out. But if they were in text on screen I would be able to read it and know exactly what items he’s talking about (since they have names like letters and numbers)
Cheers
Ive been in iracing, got a pro invite way before covid.
Ive tried got a tspc racer, sold it as i did not play.
If you have 2k aud what pedals and base are you buying. I was a pro in oval iracing. On a g29 lolol
Will the Fanatec clubsport dd work with the 2.5 Clubsport Wheel designed for Xbox/pc…love my steering wheel but would love to use on their new DD
Have you considered reviewing the cammus llc100 pedal set? It looks pretty good for the price.
So what pedals to choose, if the Simucube active pedals are out of reach.
The simagic pedals with haptic adapters vs vnm vs vrs pedals.
Or go for asetek invicta or heusinkveld pedals instead?
Hi ! I look to buy a full setup, for you what is the best ? Asetek forte ? Or invicta for better brake pedal and wheelbase force ? I look also simagic. Thanks !
Hey Will, think of maybe giving the SimLab XP-1 pedals a look?
I have the simagic hand brake and its excellent and Ive never had an issue with any game.
Great work
Will Full force be enabled on the Fanatec CSL DD as well?
Most innovated for me was Cammus C5 250.00 direct drive.
I notice none of the bigger sim commumity youtubers have made no videos about fanatecs recent issues
You seem to avoid comment on the computer. I realize that's a big question, but it kind of sits at the heart of the whole sim racing environment.
Unfortunately i am stuck using Thrustmaster and im also stuck on the ECO , not much for an upgrade unless ill switch to pc which would be an additional cost ...it does suck
What PC would you recommend for SIM racing?
I’ve looked at several different videos on this, but they just talk about building your own PC, which I think will be too difficult for me to do. I would prefer a PC that’s ready to use, and that I can just get from Amazon.
One thing I found a bit weird is this quote "..brilliant for simracing where you're moving around a lot....", I'm not disagreeing with the smaller form factor being great but simracing is probably the thing in VR where you move around the least. Flight sims (at least combat flight sims) have you looking around a lot and checking your six, room-scale you literally move your entire body.
In simracing you mostly look straight ahead, occasionally you glance at the mirrors but I wouldn't say that's moving around a lot, relatively speaking for VR.
You havent used motion rig...
@@kajrosenqvist9165 Almost no one does...
@@kajrosenqvist9165 a motion rig and VR combo is really fucking niche and most people using motion rigs only use slight movement instead of dialling it to 100%.
That said, even if you *do* use a motion rig you'll still keep your head largely still and supported by the headrest.
It doesn't even slightly compare with a dogfight in IL-2 or DCS or the movement you do in more involved roomscale.
Biggest game changer should of been simagic haptic reactors. Simucube active pedal similar performance for a small price
Looking forward to the VR content. 🥰
More VR content ? Ohhh yes please ❤
