I have a friend who's a bike tech and works at REI, and told me they are hard to service because parts can be hard to get. But this bike looks way to worth it. This is my dream bike as a first time ebike
For a bit lower price, if this had been available when I bought my RadWagon 4, I would have bought it instead. Nice bike. I hope they lower the price soon or include higher priced components.
While I like pretty much all of the changes & improvements... for that $1k extra price, I would've liked to have seen a hydraulic or air suspension on the front fork, rather than a spring suspension. The company they're buying them from makes them; really feels like they cheaped out to increase margins. I definitely do not want to hit a pot hole or rut going 20 mph on an e-bike without a decent suspension. I specifically didn't buy the RadRunner 2 b/c it had no suspension and it apparently used slightly non-standard sized parts so you couldn't put one in easily. I probably would have bought this if it had an air/hydraulic suspension.
Disappointed to see that the 2nd battery option is not yet available - I wanted to see that. 60 miles is great, although still not enough for someone working on a bike and regardless PAS1 is not realistic or attractive. The 26 miles at the top end is abysmal. Lectric already provides a dual-battery solution in their XPedition model and comes in under $1900 dollars?? Either way, this RadRunner 3 model feels overpriced, without a 2nd battery. What will Radpower want to charge when the 2nd battery setup becomes available? Range is my number 1 consideration and I would get the Lectric XPedition but it's not available in my country. If I got a RadPower I'd get the entry model and just get a spare battery at this stage. One of the things that made RadPower appealing and possible for the 'masses' was its price point. It seems that they're slowly creeping up and trying to get into the Tern bracket of overpriced e-bikes, which would be a shame.
Also, would be great to see a 3-way head to head video between this, the XPedition, and the Radwagon...pros+cons of each in comparison to each other and also full load tests with the same loads and locations at yhe same time to get a good comparison... I am basically down to one of these, so thai request is a selfish attempt at havign someone make the video i want to see but cant find so i can chose between them... 😆
Received my bike last week and then found out it had dropped in price by 400 dollars. RadRover can not be reached by phone, no number available, or email. It is like I bought a bike from a ghost. I tried the return route. There are extreme re-stocking and shipping fees. Have to say my first E-bike experience has been awful and it isn't even out of the box.
Test rode one today. 6’0 290lbs, it seemed to handle me really well. Plenty of pickup. Of course our range will be much less than a 150lb rider lol. As for ergo i felt very comfortable.
Very well made video, very informative, but man the presenters are “sleepers “ as F’ eBikes are dynamic and fun, and I feel like faking asleep watching this…
@@JohnnyMotel99 This bike is less equipped as a Fiido T1 Pro for 1699$, that comes also with hydraulic brakes but a 48V 20ah ( 960Wh instead of 670Wh) battery and a real 750W motor. The Rad has just a 500W motor, with a peak of 750W. The torque is to low, as it could be a real 750W motor that has 80-86Nm. For 2199$ Aventon offers the new Abound and that is a really really nice bike. So if you want a utility/cargo bike, have a look at this one. Rads RadRunner Plus costs 1499$ last year and thats the right price for this bike. They just pushed the prives up. The new frame is so sinple and easy to produce that they even save more money. I don’t like the way Rad is going. They want to get premium, but the bikes have just higher prices but still the same entry level parts.
@@Benjamin_Jehne I agree about Rads range of bikes, I guess they a cheaper because they use simple tubing and a hub motor...very utilitarian and I like that (less thief prone?)
@@JohnnyMotel99 As they’re the biggest ebike company in the US, I think thiefs know them well. But to behonest, when I see the older RadRunner this thing also looks so much nicer. This is what you want an utility bike to look like. Same thing for the Fiido T1. The new one misses the typical style.

DO NOT BUY A RAD E BIKE , its been 3 weeks since i unboxed my RAD bike, it still doesnt work and i still cant get anyone from this company to answer the phones, and the live chat is a joke , if you dont believe me then call them and see for yourself, i paid 1,849.00 bucks for my bike and its nothing but junk. STAY AWAY from RAD

This is a great bike for small towns. You’ll get around with a joy.

It's unfortunate that this bike is priced where it is. 1050$ CAD more than the radrunner 2. It's better, but not that much better.
Save money and headache- get the runner + instead easier to fix more value for dollar

runner 2 or 2 plus is the better imo - entirely because it dosnt have the semi integrated battery, which has had quite a few issues.

Like some lithium batteries, does this battery have to be drained before charging?
