Secondary infertility is when you have one baby - but have trouble conceiving the next child. The work up for secondary infertility is the same as it is for infertility - looking at ovulation, ovarian reserve, anatomy (uterus and fallopian tubes), and sperm.

Thank you! This video just described me. I have an almost 14 year old and have been trying to have a baby for about 7 years. I'm 38 and feel I'm running out of time but also feel that I'm being ungrateful. It's just all these different feelings. This video just makes everything so clear. My issue is ovulation, I'm always bleeding sometimes light others very heavy. My OBGYN has me on progesterone to minimize bleeding but I feel that does not help with fertility.

Can you go over ranges for each age group for amh? Also can you explain hsg and how to know if yours is normal?
I got pregnant with my oldest (16) naturally at the age of 22. Got pregnant with my youngest after trying for a month with letrazole at age 35. Been trying for 2.5 years for our 3rd with letrazole and clomid, had a miscarriage after trying for 10 months at the age of 38. Getting blood work at fertility clinic tomorrow and HSG/SIS Wednesday. IUI on next cycle!!

Do you recommend taking prenatal vitamins before conceiving? I took them for a year or so and stopped after because I felt like I was wasting too much money for nothing when not even being pregnant after trying for so long even after a miscarriage.
Thank you for this information! I have my first REI appointment in August because of recurrent pregnancy loss (we have one living child). Are the consults and testing the same when it comes to recurrent pregnancy loss?

My fertility doctor doesn’t speak to me. We did ovulation induction, I asked for progesterone. On day 2 of my cycle I had low FSH and he said was normal. I have 10 days max luteal phase and he doesn’t think is a problem… I just need answers

Not a doctor but I know that Chlamydia can definitely cause issues with fallopian tubes and impact fertility. Therefore it’s important to treat all infections as soon as possible.
