It honestly surprises me how a live video can get a dislike before it is even premiered. A friend of mine struggled with infertility issues and she had all but given up hope to conceive. She was down to her last round of IVF when she saw the two pink lines and welcomed a baby girl in the midst of a pandemic.

Better to get a dislike before the video. Shows that someone is just jealous of Sarah or something -- rather than that her content sucks. I've recommended her to 356808654467 people, and they've ALL loved her/been so thankful. There is something wrong with the one disliker.

Ooh your face when he said that your AMH was low for your age broke my heart!! Aah you look so crushed! But I'm glad to see that you feel encouraged through talking with the doctor and getting a plan together. Thank you so much for sharing such a vulnerable topic and so much of yourself with us! I am so excited for you!

As an IVF veteran, I suggest the following:
    1. Read the book "It Starts with the Egg".
    2. Look into OHSS, which can happen as a result of your egg retrieval. It doesn't always happen (happened to me 1 out of 2 retrievals), but it is something to look out for.
    3. Expect the unexpected. Try to "flex and flow" and know that absolutely anything is possible; the whole experience is so unpredictable. But it's so worth it!
Best of luck to you! I'm so excited to watch your journey!

I’m almost 32 years old and miscarried a year ago. Your video inspired me to make a gyno appointment for September and start asking my gynecologist what he thinks is best for me because my husband and I are not having kids any time soon unfortunately. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been to the gynecologist. I keep trying to explain the urgency of this to my husband and he thinks I’m just being impulsive. You should be so proud of yourself for taking this step ❤️❤️❤️

So excited for this series. Sarah, you're amazing for educating on such a deeply personal subject! You are definitely leading the charge in opening those needed communications for those struggling in need of support.
To encourage you: I struggled when I turned I turned the age my mom was when she had me, completely single. God had a plan. I got married years later than friends I was anticipating being pregnancy buds with. A friend of mine went through so many fertility treatments to get their daughter in her 30s. Then in her 40s surprise baby boy! A family member was AMA for both her kids. A friend of my moms had kids in her late 30s/40s. Watching the preview for next week, you're right, it's completely unfair that women have a clock we have no control over and we're forced to choose: motherhood or career. But remember, God doesn't answer to a clock. His timing is perfect. You're wise to take steps that create options but trust that someone greater has it all figured out. Can't wait to see your babies

I cannot believe I just recently found your channel! Thank you soo much for being so vulnerable and sharing your story! I am 31 and currently 8 months pregnant! I was pregnant in 2017 but had a molar pregnancy. We were able to get pregnant via IUI, as I was diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve so I also was recommended to take CoQ10 and DHEA leading up to the IUI. You are not alone in this! Wow what a small world! I had a pretty good experience with Dr Ghadir at SCRC when I donated my eggs back in 2016. The recovery from the retrieval was the hardest part of the whole process for me (pretty bad nausea from the HCG trigger), but after two weeks, my cycle returned and I was back to normal within a month. Excited for you!

I am so happy you are doing this series!!! I froze my eggs 4 years ago at 34 years of age and ever since have been on a mission to talk to anyone and EVERYONE about the process. I had a low amh for my age and in one cycle retrieved 24 eggs, 17 of which were viable and frozen. I am now 9 months pregnant at 38 years of age (due next week! Thank goodness for all of your videos btw) and conceived naturally. I can’t say enough how much I have appreciated knowing that I have my eggs frozen for not only peace of mind, but for the option for possible future kids if I want. Thank you for being transparent and demystifying the process. For anyone reading this that is considering the process and lives in New York, I had a fantastic experience with Extend Fertility (I’m in no way sponsored!). When I went through the process it was really hard to find reviews and recommendations, so I know if I had seen a comment like this it would have put my mind at ease.

As a person who has gone through a 5-year fertility journey, done all these tests they talked about, took all the supplements they mentioned based on my own research (no doctor mentioned them to me), and is now 21 weeks pregnant after husband was finally analyzed and operated on..... I find this conversation VERY informative and also somehow triggering of all of the overwhelming emotions of a fertility journey. Sarah, best of luck to you and thank you for sharing this really personal journey. I did two rounds of IUI before trying IVF this April (I'm now 11 weeks pregnant and due in March). I came to your channel to prepare for by birth and baby and so far your info has been really helpful! My advice would be to see this fertility journey as a marathon, it can be easy to get wrapped up in each step, Do I have enough follicles, then how many eggs did I get, then how many fertilized, then are the embryos healthy, and then did it implant and am I finally pregnant?!? Just take each step as best you can, your journey will be your own. You'll be a bomb ass mom.

I see myself in you Sarah. I'm also a nurse, I started my career as a pediatric nurse and I absolutely love kids. I always thought that before I reached 30 I would be married to an amazing man and I would be ready to start a family. Well..... The universe certainly had a different plan for me. Once a reached 30 I went to a fertility clinic with the intention to freeze my eggs but I didn't do it because I was hopeful that I would find a partner. Fast forward 8 years later, I was still single and I knew my biological clock was ticking. I checked my AMH at 38 and I had a good number for my age, no PCOS no health issues. Then covid hit and that was my cue, I realized that I would never have a baby with a partner so I had to chose between doing it alone or to give up motherhood for ever.
The thought of never have a child just because I was single was way more devastating than picturing being a single mother.
I went to a fertility clinic, I chose a donor and I did IVF which resulted in my beautiful baby girl who is 2 weeks old.
The whole process took almost two years between research, saving money, choosing the clinic, waiting for the clinic to reopen during the pandemic etc. I even did therapy because the emotional toll of IVF while being single and during Covid was not easy at all. Now that I have my daughter I know I made the right choice. It takes time to make such a big decision but what I can tell you is that if you want to be a mother don't wait for Mr. Right because it might be too late and he might never show up. I also found that while I was dating and actively searching for Mr right, the thought of having a family and knowing you don't have enough time puts a lot of pressure on you and you might end up choosing the wrong partner. If you want to freeze your eggs go ahead but if you reach 36-37 and you are still single then go ahead and thaw them. At least half of the eggs you have will die during the thawing process meanwhile embryos have a better chance or survival once they reached the blastocyst stage. So at least if your eggs don't survive the thawing process you can still use your own eggs and do either IUI or IVF.

Follow-up question for Dr. Ghadir or whoever if you got the chance to ask: while pausing ovulation, growing your eggs, taking injections - is it bad to accidentally or purposefully conceive rather than retrieving or is that just like something a normal fertility doc would do with a patient?

As someone who has been through the IVF process, we were told to abstain in the days ahead of the retrieval. If you were to conceive during this time it could be with many, many babies. For reference, during my retrieval they got 24 eggs, 12 were mature, and 10 fertilized. You would NOT want to take the chance of conceiving instead of retrieving.
