- RWBY Ice Queendom was so bad I had to put my original 2nd video on hold just to bitch about it for a whole 2 months longer than I anticipated. As a lapsed fan of RWBY, this was about as bad as I feared it would be.

Apologies if a few parts of the vid seem unrefined and rushed. There definitely came a point where I couldn't be bothered to rerecord certain lines anymore and where I forgot to add certain notes. This vid was supposed to come out over 2 months ago and then by the end of last month, neither of which ended up happening. I also had to retroactively make a cut on a flub-up I left in, and I hope the cut isn't too jarring/noticeable.
I do have another video already recorded so hopefully I can crank that one out by the end of January. Watch make take until like March tho lmao

@@bnashtay2278 I plan to sometime next year. I have a script on Nu-13 written and a Ragna script in my head somewhere. It's just that there are other things ahead in the pipeline, including a huge RWBY Retrospective.

Nice video! Got around to watching it today. Your choice of music was really good (Was a little loud sometimes). You did a good job of making the problems of Ice Queendom understandable who haven't watched the show, however. Having an idea of how seasons 1-3 eventually contribute to these problems would have been nice (Showing how they don't really go anywhere plot-wise). Great video though keep up the great work they're super interesting to watch ❤.
Thanks! Yeah, the music was a little louder than I expected after a while since I work with computer audio being more quiet for the sake of my ears, meaning the audio I work with isn't 100% reflective of the final product per se. Still, I definitely hope to keep this momentum up next year/month.
I personally believe I did make it clear how S1-3 sorta affected the show in the sense that there was so much they should have done to make us care more about the characters considering how they never get enough time to shine. Such failures ultimately impacted later RWBY volumes and also created opportunities for this show to fill in some of those gaps only for it to not do that or really function well if you consider it pure canon instead of "canon adjacent", despite trying to create some plausible deniability cop-outs as to why certain things here don't matter when they're supposed to come up in Volumes 2 and 3.
@@SerialNavelgazerCBF Yeah that is a pretty good explanation of here of how it did and drawing that connection. Think you could have drawn the connection a bit more clearly in the video. By using examples and the like. Then again that might be beating a dead horse as those parts of the show are already pretty analyzed, and you already got pretty far into the video just doing contextualization so adding to that end could have been poor for pacing reasons.

Thanks! Glad to know that the vid came together in the end, and don't worry. I still have the planned 2nd vid recorded. I just got to get to editing after I do this other project and take some time for myself. Maybe in January or February the next vid will come out...hopefully.

Saw this from your Anilist post. Really liked what you had to say since I felt very conflicted about it. If I could give some feedback, the really fast talking combined with the loud and fast music made this a bit frustrating to keep up with at times.
Yeah, ngl there was one point where I wanted to more or less put text on what I was saying, but I forgot. I do def talk a bit fast in general at times and that was the one moment where even I couldn't keep up with myself lmao.

Yang&Penny's conversation meant nothing because Ruby can change Weiss's dreamscape just by existing. Also Blake becoming Nega-Blake changed Weiss's dreamworld as well highlights the worthlessness of that conversation.
Blake&Sun's conversation goes nowhere since Weiss banished Blake and Blake used a grimm that ironically turned her into the thing that she denounced.

Yeah, the inconsistencies with Ruby in the dream stuff definitely deflate the power of the idea of actively trying to change things since they're kinda doing that on their own anyway. It's definitely another aspect of Ice Queendom that's theoretically neat until you think about it and then it falls apart.
Pretty much, yeah, It was basically just an excuse to give Sun a scene in this arc cuz he has nothing to do until the finale, otherwise.

True but that one doesn't feel so bothersome to me as it doesn't bungle the order of events of a character arc. It's still jarring but it does make sense to put it there or nowhere at all given the note they wanna end the episode on. Still, honestly much of episode 12 shoulda just been episode 4 in hindsight.
