- This was supposed to be a hyperfixation side project and a break from another thing I was working on. Somehow that spiraled. This is what happens when I talk about 3 shit anime that deal with NFTs, the metaverse, and generative AI. Soapboxing and a ballooning of project size ensue.

One of my favorite movies that my Dad also shares as one of his favorites is Minority Report. Both of us seem to really vibe with cyberpunk stories that talk about distopias created by the advancement of technology. He also fell in love with Psycho Pass when I showed it to him (at least season 1). And stuff like this has been an interesting topic because it feels like sci fi is one of the few places to actually explore those kinds of topics that may eventually become a reality. In a way it's sort of the last bastion to prepare us for when these technologies become implemented before they're even invented. And with how close that reality is becoming, it is a bit concerning that series that involve that kind of technology don't want to explore the implications.
All n all, good video. Would love to pick your brain on stuff like this, AI, trans-humanism, the whole shebang sometime.

Oh, that's cool. Now I wonder if you and him were fans of the early Black Mirror seasons as well given the series' individual dystopias of particular concepts and technological zeitgeists. It definitely feels like we should have had a show try to really delve into one of these by now instead of more or less using them as backdrops for poor stories.

@@SerialNavelgazerCBF don't think he's seen black mirror, but I haven't either. What season would you recommend stopping at?
I'd say watch the first 3 seasons of that anthology series and then you can decide from there if you start S4 cuz that's where I dropped it. The seasons get less consistent as time goes on (S3 has some downright terrible stories) but S1-3 all have stellar peak episodes, like the Christmas Special. I haven’t touched S5 or 6 but given that the first 2 eps of S4 were awfu, I heard the rest of S4 was mixed to bad in general, and I heard S5 was dogshit and S6 was mid, yea, first 3 seasons are a safe bet.
@@SerialNavelgazerCBF Works for me. We enjoy anthology shows like Fargo and the stuff. Makes it a lot less painful than watching something like Game of Thrones, knowing when it eventually becomes bad and never lets up with the cliffhangers.

If you start posting more consistently? I'm pretty sure you could become one of the best anime reviewers or whatever you call that on CZcams, you just have a very interesting style that I personally love.
Thanks! I generally tried to aim for once every 1-2 months given my current job and other stuff going on, which isn't great but it is what it is.
I'm almost done with another project and I hope to release it by the end of the month. Unfortunately, I was sick bad in February to the point where I couldn't even record my script cuz my voice was rough. It could barely even handle the interviews I conducted for the video without me being a coughing fit whose voice was strained, so that delayed the video for a good while.
We have AI, deal with it
