- This Legend Hobby AD-5 Skyraider is a pre-production model that came into the shop recently. It is based on their great flying 86" bubble top ARF and really is a unique looking model that is expected to become available around summertime. So, having it together, I wanted to provide an exclusive sneak peek at the assembly. As a whole, it's a very similar assembly to the bubble top, so in this video I wanted to highlight the primary differences between the two. Primarily, that includes updated landing gear mounts for both JP and Robart retracts and the new side by side detailed cockpit. As a prototype, color me impressed! The fit was great and it was well engineered. I still have a few things to do including installing a sound system and getting the markings on which will come in a separate video. Can't wait to fly this beast, it has such a cool look to it! #TheMagicSchoolBus #LegendHobby #Skyraider

Shocking.....another homerun.....also known as " Modeling done properly "....keep em comin Chris
Quite simply, beautiful!
the first thing I like is the built-up construction I'm not one of those people that is very fond of the foam aircraft. so this aircraft not only is beautiful it's built right. I appreciate you so much for sharing this video keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
That came out really good 👍
And so, it looks really awesome
very cool!!!
Again a clean constructed model - not foam! 👍
Nothing wrong with foam.
Very nice. She's a beauty 👍⚡👊
Sweet plane Chris....love the pilots 😀. Great job.
Thanks!
Nicely done. Looking forward to the flight review and performance comparison between the two versions.
Thanks! I’m eager to see that as well. Will be interesting to see.
so goood and expeeeensive😁
Looking great my friend, such a cool subject and kudos to Legend Hobby! I recall making a scale plastic model of one of these way back in the day, and for some reason I'm thinking it was Monogram, 1/72 scale? Anyway, a seldom seen variant of a very special plane, greatly looking forward to your flight review! All the best to you and yours!
Thanks brother!
Geekeriffic 👍
Haha, I like it!
So cool. The target tow scheme looks great! Kinda reminds me of pre WWII US navy birds.
Yeah, I dig it. should be real easy to see in the air, haha!
Great video as always and awesome plane. I know that this hobby can be addicting and before you know it you have planes everywhere and then the wife may start giving ultimatums " its either the planes or me" so i wanted to help you out by buying your first skyraider. I am just looking out for you and trying to save you =).
Hahaha, thanks for the offer to “help,” but I’m good. 😆. I can quit whenever I want, I just don’t want to. 🤣🤣
Huge fan of the Skyraider in any configuration. I want to know how you got your super speed for kit building, I could really use that lol. Looking forward to the flight review!
Haha, thanks man!
After making sooo many awsome builds ... I never see you .. mess up ..
Would you ever do a vid on your old bloops.
Just gotta watch til the end. 😆 I’ve had a few that I usually throw in as an outtake. The newer eflite cessna 150 is the latest oops, haha
Hello Chris, thanks a lot for this sneak peak ! Is it still a Seagull model behind ? Do you know if they plan to sell it also or is it an esxlusivity for Legend Hobby ? Unfortunately, the Legend Hobby website is not available in Europe :(
Thanks for watching! 😊. As you mentioned, this is indeed a LEGEND HOBBY exclusive OEM project but Legend Hobby has authorized seagull models to offer it to distributors outside North America.
@@Thercgeek That is awesome ! Thanks Chris, appreciated ! Can't wait to see your flight review !
Awesome job! Is this your,,,,,full-time job or what?
Haha, Thanks! Maybe one day… 😉🤪
Is there a 3 blade prop that would work well with this motor looking for one for a 20 lb BF 109?
I’d imagine the same prop specs at 3blades would do the job well. Otherwise, I’d have to do some calculations and research to come up with a more meaningful suggestion.
My only biggest problem is that I can never find someone to buy this arf from. Everytime I Google on who has the plane their always out of stock or you have to pre-order with God knows when it's going to come in. Then my money is gone with a hope and prayer that I will eventually get my plane. I have lost my butt a couple of times. Are most of these planes sent to you so you can review them and then get the plane or do you have a reliable supplier.
Legend Hobby is a very reputable business. This is an exclusive model that they are having developed and were kind enough to send me a pre-production sample for review. The models are expected to arrive early summer and I can assure you, they will be here.
Funny to hear people praising this scheme. Man, I don't like it. But, to each their own.
I get that for sure. For me, the SEA camo is my absolute favorite on the bubble top Skyraider but I’m not crazy about it at all on the AD-5.
@@Thercgeek Everything looks good in the SEA camo!
You’re not wrong, haha! Some better than other though.
