Companies are making record profits that’s what we should be concerned about
That part. They're exploiting the situation and it's very frustrating
Well supply and demand is an equation. When things go scarce you increase the price of what you have to avoid a LOSS, without inflation companies would close down🤷🏽♂️
They're just gonna say set up your own company then.
Its already happening in gaming to be Specifically and I hate it
Exactly! Thanks for being up the big cockroach in the living room, Tyler.
I live in Shanghai and today is Day 14 that I’ve been locked up. Haven’t set foot outside ! Others have been locked up since March. The food situation is real - it’s literally impossible to get food online as either shops have been suspended from operating and those who have special permits to sell have all their food sold out within seconds each morning (6am)
Then you’ve got your Covid quarantine camps which you are sent to if you test positive. Mind you they don’t even have showers! It’s a terrible situation and there have been reports of multiple suicides due to the mental toll this lockdown is taking on people. Mentally speaking, I’m pretty exhausted myself and have plans to leave China in the summer
To be honest. Never come back. What’s wrong with you to come to a dystopia country
It's been 35 days for me in Pudong... it's REALLY tiring... sigh :'(
Sorry to hear that. Hope things get better soon.
This is out of control I believe this will start happening everywhere I hope i am wrong and the elderly, children and disabled and able bodied citizens this is Not right this world needs Blessings
Praying for you all, I can’t imagine. 🙏🏽💔
The gdp numbers aren't lying; we are technically in a soft recession. I was also shocked to see the market shooting up today. And I agree, if the market is green tomorrow I will also be pleasantly surprised and start looking for Elvis, MJ and Prince. LOL
I’m studying for the Series 65 exam and one of the question is on the definition of recession and the right answer still is negative growth in GDP two consecutive quarters.
I think we need to stop softening the blow with the word “recession”. This is going to be a depression. 4 top economist agree on this. When the market reached high in mid 1930 it took until mid 1932 to reach the bottom. people can’t buy when they have no food, the trucks don’t have DEF to mix with the diesel to run (in all diesel trucks newer than 2009) No trucks-no food-no fertilizer.
Even the most successful investors experience losses when the market is weak or when they make choices that don't work out as planned. However, overall investment ought to significantly improve your net worth; because mine wasn't, I had to work with "Nicole Ann Sabin" who clarified my mistakes and enabled me to make clear progress.

Ultimately, inflation makes income inequality worse. It usually grows faster than wages. Rich people can invest in appreciating growth stocks or real estate. Still, rising food and energy prices can hurt the middle and lower class because those prices account for a significant portion of their monthly expenses.
But it's an opportunity to bring the american wealth down to mongolian and Nicaraguan standards. This will allow more global equality, and will probably purge 10 to 20% of the humans worldwide that will not be able to afford food anymore.
@@boboutelama5748 The globalists (present US government) want to get rid of the middle class in US! The plandemic hurt the small businesses & now inflation, increased gas prices, supply & demand issues, are all impacting the poor & middle class! This is all being done purposely!
Yes, absolutely. The Federal Reserve created new dollars out of nothing to help their pals on Wall Street. Those dollars compete against everyone else's dollars to buy stuff. This is a massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich

The fact that multibillion dollar big oil corporations would rather artificially inflate their prices than cut into their CEO's paycheck is telling
What do you mean??? What'd you think the outcome of printing 40% of all dollars in existence within a year would be???
@@davisgathinji346 all countries are fighting 40 year inflation even countries that didn't print any money at all
@@davisgathinji346 There’s a lot of evidence from earnings calls that companies are raising prices way beyond they need to. Say something used to cost $5 to the company and they sold it for $6. Now that same item costs the company $8. Instead of selling the item for $9, they are selling it for $15.
@Hobbes Habbiton. You easily forget that oil companies recognized billions in losses in 2020 when global oil prices went negative. The reason they have huge profits now is cause global oil prices are at multi-year highs and they're largely enjoying base effects. How do you artificially inflate the price of oil when pricing is off a global standard?
@@ripdoinksinamish You're forgetting that these companies recognized huge losses in 2020. Oil in the US since you use WTI traded in the negative. Why then are you critical of same companies when global prices have shot up ten, twenty times?? I'm in Kenya, prices are up here too
Also, think of things from a companies perspective. If the supply chain pressure drives up the prices of inputs, you can only absorb so much. You'd have to push the costs forward to the consumer
On the demand side, you guys in the US were given handouts which, on the back of suppressed supply would drive up prices naturally. It's all economics

Yes, only now under Biden is there this increase in corporate margins. Pre-Biden these same corporations didn’t want to make corporate profit margins this big. Makes sense.

It's extra sad, because Trevor won't actually ever acknowledge the corporate greed, because him and his team work for these type of people, similar to all of the politicians. So in a way, Trevor is selling his integrity for a paycheck as well. Although, if he refuses to sell his integrity, he'll be kicked off the air and replaced with someone else willing to sell their integrity. Not that this makes it ok or anything. Inflation is literally a measure for prices going up
This is following a year of record losses. They need to profit recoup losses in the pandemic. Or else, the company goes bust and we get no electricity.
Also, most companies are still at a loss.
@@titanbeal4060 it's not a measure for prices going up. It's the act of elevating prices. That's it. It's right in it's name.
From the root word inflate or to increase in size or amount.
The causes for inflation are ALWAYS rooted in greed. Either taking advantage of a situation and using it to charge more or just deciding to charge ore just simply because you can.
Like with the Epi-Pen. It used to be 100 dollars for two pens. I know several parents and when my kids were small who used to keep one with themselves and the other with the school's nurse. The child would carry one as well. There were two primary companies that made it. The one company purchased the other. This was allowed by the *Bureau* *of* *Competition division of the Federal Trade Commission. the *Security* *Exchange* *Commission*
After the two companies combined, it eliminated a large portion of money that would be spend competing. Combined resources = less to make the same product.
The CEO raised the price of an Epi-Pen to 600+ dollars. Parents with children who need this had to pay it. They had no choice.
"Born a fashion crime "is incredible
That ending roast tho ... GOLD
Is there ever going to be a day where the news would just say "yeah, we have no news for you today, no Corona, ukrianians are fine and inflation is at bay" can we wish for a day like this? Or a year? Or a decade would be nice.

As someone who’s 6 feet 2 I’d much rather hear people talk about inflation than what the weather is like for me up there.
An antidote to this runaway inflation is to actually tax billionaires that are just hoarding money.
Or instead of taking more money from people the government can stop dumping billions of dollars in the economy which is what’s driving the inflation.

We need to stop discussing inflation like the tides. It is not a natural phenomena, it is based on company decisions to raise prices at the source and then small increases down the stream. Decisions, not nature. Let's see what profits look like at the end of this
It's the control of supply and demand. Oil companies controlled supply through the Arabs by lowering production, and increasing demand. Overseas companies have controlled the supply chain, increasing demands and raising prices. Remember how much toilet paper and masks cost us at the start of the pandemic? If you can monopolize or work with other companies to control supply, you control demand, and thus crony-increase the value of the product

One thing I'd like to get out into the fold that is our lives: unemployment only counts the people that are applying, or receiving benefits. Where I live, there are so many people that have given up on that, or their benefits ran out, that they're just waiting for another acceptable job to open up (many of my friends have disabilities, work restrictions and it's hard to find a job that won't work you to death here because of the worker shortages. Living with parents/other family members & such, they drop off the unemployed radar count.

The "economy" is doing great, because the "economy" is measured by how well the wealthy are doing (i.e. stock markets, corporate profits, GDP, etc.). If the Republicans would get out of the way & let Democrats tax the richest
.01%, increase social program spending, bust the monopolies up, etc. the REAL economy, measured by working peoples' quality of life & purchasing power would improve just like it did after FDR taxed the rich, increased social spending & busted up the monopolies, leading to the most prosperous time in America's history, the growth of the middle class, excellent higher education opportunities, widespread home ownership, massive infrastructure projects & American leadership in technological innovation.

Driverless car 🚗 how does it know it is being pulled over? Who gets the ticket 🎟?
Apparently, it has an algorithm that recognizes the flashing lights of the police car and the siren. The car records everything with the multiple cameras mounted on it. It is the same way it recognizes the traffic lights.
The closest black person

You run the plate and send the ticket to the owner
@@robertmarley8852 IF he can avoid being shot! 🤣
(laughing at police absurdity, not people being shot)
I can't believe Trevor thinks Time Square's theaters were full of people sitting politely, hands folded, committing scenes to memory.
I live in Montana beef country and meat prices have still risen 20% in the last 6-8 weeks. The only way I can afford meat is to go out and pick up roadkill.
Its awesome having a studio audience again.
The only thing I wish Trevor doesn't stop is the casual clothes. I really hope it's not official all the time.
Lol, maybe he can do Casual Fridays on the show?
Born a Fashion Crime
@@psbox362 yeah. Mix it up with the casual wear once in a while.
@@unvergebeneid HA!
I hope he keeps his 'fro cos he definitely rocks that!
Ronnie saying, "This powers me!!!!!" Is the best
I feel like Trevor just ad libbed 50 of the first 60 seconds 😂
- reduce demand!
Give people the freedom to say no to unnecessary commutes!
Give people the freedom to say no to abusive employers!
Let the people and the planet rest!
No more evictions from primary residences!
How tf do you do that?
@@bigrunts9768 just... Stop paying the police to throw people out of the only home they have and let them focus on actual problems?????
@@bigrunts9768 Less costly advertising, invest in high speed transports, renewable energy, more EPA regulations to help tackle climate change,Unionizing workers and instead of evicting from primary residences just relocate.
@@GaasubaMeskhenet the only home they have is someone else's property if they're renting
@@locadisa i agree with high speed transports, the problem is government is slow and inefficient. And you can't have affordable and renewable energy.
Ronny's new special is genuinely amazing, even got my gf laughing and she usually only likes British comedians.
This was such a great format for the show! Fantastic, hilarious and nuanced commentary
THIS SHOW IS MY HAPPY PLAVE 😂 🤣 TREV YOU ROCK! & dude RONNIE @ the end had me in tiers!😂😂😂🤣🤣
Glad things are some what normal. Great job Trevor! Thank you for continuing to lighten my day!
That Morbius joke was hilarious.
Trevor's kind of on fire here, haven't seen this energy in a while and it's fantastic.
Rony went Super Saiyan real quick😂😂😂😂
I am literally loving this monologue. I am so for it
I was looking trough the comments to see if anyone else realised the "Easter egg" in his opening performance: He impersonated Gilbert Gottfried who passed away yesterday, 12 April 2022, acting as the grandpa who talks about inflation. Rest in Peace Gillbert.
Knowing there are people who aren’t head over heels for Trump gives me so much hope
Best Gilbert Gotfried accent. RIP
