I finished season 2 of "Grantchester" on Tuesday and immediately I knew I had to make a video with these two. On that same day, I came across this song and thought it fitted Sidney and Amanda perfectly. I really like how this turned out, so I hope you like it too.
Now, can we please just take a minute to appreciate the brilliant show that is "Grantchester"? You have not seen it already, you must watch it immediately. IT IS SO GOOD! The writing is excellent and the cast is nothing short of spectacular - especially James Norton and Robson Green, who have the most amazing bromance going on. Oddly enough, I didn't really ship Sidney & Amanda in the first season, but they completely stole my heart in the second one, particularly in the last three episodes. I cannot for season 3 to begin.

You have totally captured the heart and soul of Amanda & Sidney's relationship. I've been aboard this ship from day one. The clips from the Jazz Club show how much they long to be together but know the impossibility of it ever happening. Their bond is inseparable and will last lifetime whether or not they are ever allowed to marry. I live it hope that it will happen but I have my doubts! I can't wait to see the Christmas special and S3........ It will be emotional and frustrating to the least. Thanks for the fabulous video!

This is lovely! I felt the same way about Sidney and Amanda, mostly because i didn't think they were going to ever actually get together until the second season, and then I was able to appreciate them so much more.

Dorothei Madly Yeah, he's really leaving the show and the character of Sidney goes out with him. They're going to introduce a new character in season 4 which will become the main character after James leaves.

I was hoping this romance would make it. Looked like it would. Sydney's insecurities got in the way. Just sayin'.
Omg! I don't care i want to see them together. I think its stupid that they cant marry. The church needs to wake up especially now as Catholic priest are becoming harder to find. Young men are no longer signing up for the job and the church will never allow a woman. This is leading me to believe the church will change the no marriage aspect to save the churches future. Who does it hurt to allow them to have some personal happiness no one. They can teach gods word by living a righteous family life as god wanted for us you all. Would see less abuse cases and hidden skeletons that pop their ugly head of a few gone bad i think. You can dedicate your life to god with out having to stop having and living. Besides that does it not make more sense to take advise from some one who goes thru our every day life struggles not so one who hides away behind church doors and preaches. Let them teach by example but let them live the life god blessed them with too.

It was all about her. She didn't UNDERSTAND him - didnt see the depth of his calling & his struggles.
Spiritually DISconnected.
But... he finally found JOY, freedom & 💞💗💜💙 in a woman who deeply understood him & his calling & struggles. VIOLET knew him & he KNEW it. When u Finally arrive... u know it.

They will not together...coz church forbids divorced marriage...and Sidney didn't do anything for it (!!!)...so...
I consider him a traitor because he betrayed his love in the most vile way - he did not have the courage to propose marriage at first in defiance of everyone and did not have the courage to be married to her later by submitting a petition to the chief as an exception ... and then he quickly fell in love with another ... a coward and a traitor!
Not a traitor but they are sadly unequally yoked. So their love story hit a brickwall for several reasons. She was not right for him. shocked him with an engagement. Went for a rich guy while in love with Sydney. SELFISH attention seeker. Lacked patience & couldn't connect with him spiritually but added to his confusion by giving him an ultimatum - "The Church or ME !" she said. YIKES...
But luckily he found a woman who totally understood his calling & his struggles. His equal - intriguing intelligent VIOLET. Someone from the Church background he instantly deeply connected with.
To be understood AND loved ❣...is an ARRIVAL after a long difficulty journey.
Nope. They loved each other but LOVE alone is never enough. Then were UNEQUALLY yoked & she didn't understand his struggles in his calling.
But VIOLET came from a Church background. He made an instant DEEPER connection with her. He knew she understood & KNEW him well. To be loved AND ttly understood is like heaven... ❤💕
Yes I do agree that it was a very disappointing end to the love affair between Sidney and Amanda. I wouldn’t have thought when you love someone that much you would throw it all away and the writers should have known that. With James leaving the show, it would have been a fitting end that he left to be with Amanda and not the unrealistic way his character was written out.
@@freebluebutterfly6583 totally disagree regarding Violet, that to me wouldn’t have happened.
To me the writers misjudged what the viewers actually wanted and if Sidney’s character was going to be written out anyway, it would have been better to give a more realistic ending which would have been to be with the love of his life.
Sidney,s chois is the church and he left Amanda and Grace and married Violet,I dont understand
love this show but I don't like Amanda's character (I do like the actor who played her though). She is a real attention seeker and so annoying throughout the show. The kind that doesn't actually do anything yet try to convince the world that she is wild and different and independent and special!
