    Features:
    * Rich but natural color. With the same CPU and 1/2'' high-performance image sensor as the RunCam Phoenix 2, the RunCam Phoenix 2 Nano produces vivid high-resolution pictures.
    * Excellent low light performance. Thanks to the 1/2'' super global WDR image sensor and the ƒ/2.0 big aperture 7G glass lens, the Phoenix 2 Nano's low light performance is even better than the RunCam Eagle.
    * 7G ƒ/2.0 big aperture glass lens. Less red lens flare. The customized high-quality 7 layers of glass lens has a ƒ/2.0 aperture which brings less red lens flare and less purple fringing effect. These lenses are also used on the RunCam Split Nano3.
    * Less digital shimmer. Comparing to the RunCam Micro Eagle, the Phoenix 2 Nano has way less digital shimmer and a much clearer image.

    Thanks for that Gal. I find your four-way side by side comparisons to be very helpful.
    The more I see it, the more I like the Toothless Nano 2. The Phoenix nano is good, but not as good to my eye and the Baby Ratel just does not fare that well even though I wanted it to as the Ratel has been my favorite camera since it came out. That said, these are all good cameras, a significant improvement over what we had just a year ago.

    Thanks again Gal! I wonder if you would be interested in doing a side by side flight of what might be considered the best of each camera size? For example whoop cam, nano, and micro like Nano 3, Micro Eagle or Ratel, and whatever is the best Nano (Predator or baby Ratel etc.). Purely as an exercise to show the benefits, if any, of going up a size in camera.

    As said, now that cams are all great, if you could compare vtxs somehow that would be dope. Especially the micro ones like the tiny tank and tbs offerings. I guess fly the same course with different ones hooked up and gopro an fpv monitor? Anyway, you do amazing work. Keep it up bro.

    Great review Gal! I’m liking the looks of it plus it’s a little longer than the predator nano 4 and the toothless 2 nano. Should fit the 533 switchback frame a little better. The way it is now the toothless sits far back in the camera mount and I can see the mount in my goggles and that bugs me. The extra 2mm should be perfect.

    I just got this camera today. If you watch the Phoenix feed, you will see black bars intermittently. I'm also experiencing the same when the radio rx is connected. I assume it's picking up interference from somewhere. Interesting that is shows in Gal's test though with it recording the DVR on board

    • @scootroter4859
      @scootroter4859 Před 4 lety +3

      That's RF interference. Probably from another component on your quad. Hard to say which one... Seems maybe that camera is more sensitive to it that the others are.

    Was the frame desyncing issue caused by the Nano 2 Phoenix camera or the DVR? The other three cameras didn't desync. I watch CZcams videos in high-definition on a high-definition big screen TV and it looked really bad. What I was seeing may not show up on a smaller PC monitor. Thanks Gal.

    @kandredfpv Před 4 lety

    Wow, that latency measurement technique is brilliant and flawless. Great that it includes the VTX, receiver and HDO2 latency in there for an end-to-end result.👍
    There is just one little typo in your spreadsheet where you have "-15ms (Racer 3 latency)", I think you meant HDO2 there as well. How did you measure the goggle latency?

    • @KremerFPV
      @KremerFPV  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks. Yes, you are right - there is a typo in the spreadsheet :-)
      I measured the latency of the goggles using the Racer 3 camera (that why the text was left there from a previous test), as I know it's latency. This wasn't a 100% accurate test but the numbers should be very close to the actual ones.

    • @kandredfpv
      @kandredfpv Před 4 lety

      @@KremerFPV yes there is an error of about +/- 4ms but I can live with this. I've already used your technique to measure the video latency on 3 of my quads and they roughly match what others have documented for these cams. It's also helped me identify that the Aomway Commander v1 LCDs have a slower pixel response than my Fatshark HD2s as it takes about 4 frames fully transition on. This explains the motion blur I've always noticed in the Aomways.

    Baby ratel in my opinion has the best colors

  • @Andrew_O
    @Andrew_O Před 4 lety

    Cat 2 seemed to have more red, less blue and it's image seemed a lot sharper than all of the others for almost all of its run. Not the best colour and did have a few tiny exposure issues with dark dirt areas, but overall I can easily say it was my favourite. The Toothless was also very solid and my runner up. The Phoenix was decent all around, but didn't stand out and those others beat it in low-light where it was also too grainy. This video also has reinforced my opinion that the Ratel Nano is just mushy by comparison and is of no interest at all with these other options. Thanks for another great video!

      @@KremerFPV Actually No it doesnt work. on the Oscar edition V1 phoenix you had to switch between joystick and uart input. this one doesnt have that, I wired it to cam control but nothing happens. I believe its joystick only and for some reason they dont give a joystick and with my luck I dont have a runcam joystick. I would have also bought a micro size since I love the v1 so much but not if i can t change any settings, what would I do if it came with the wrong settings. The competition like the ratel and the falkor both come with joysticks, rumcam should have just left this as it was or send the joystick. IMO

      @scootroter4859 Před 4 lety

      Gal, I'd like to know that too! I just bought my 3rd and 4th Runcam Nano3 because it's image is so good and it's like having no camera at all because it weighs barely a gram! Bangers had them on Sale for $14.90, and it's incredible for that price. Anyway I look 👀 at it, the image is plenty good enough for me to fly... And isn't that what it's all about? Heck, the old Caddx F1 turbo was good enough for me to fly just fine, and these are a world apart from that older camera! I think people sometimes are too picky about the image quality of FPV cameras! It simple needs to be good enough for us to fly. Simple as that! And that needs to be remembered as the FPV cameras sole purpose! 🤔😉
