thank you for the side-by-side! for a 7" cruiser i would want the Phoenix as well, at night you need al the reference points you can get so a wide view works well in the dark
I have RCP2 coming. By what I can see in this video, I am impressed with the clarity of the background with the RCP2. The Foxeer looks a bit murky in the background.
I will say it is interesting how different people prefer the opposite camera for the same reasons (hope that makes sense :P) Both good camera's though :)
DutchRC Adventures yeah makes since. I’m a foxeer guy. I got few rigs and they all have foxeer cams. I’ll be testing the RCP2 this weekend. I’m judging off the vid so I’ll be able to judge better in real life.
that is kinda funny as I usually use Runcam's but kinda prefer the Foxeer at night ;) The colors of the Runcam are FAR better though and neither camera is BAD :)
Great review, dude! Thanks a lot! 😊 Yeah, they aren't identical, but as I told you, they have the same sensor (and the Ratel as well). 😊 The difference in color should be easily tweaked... My doubt between the 3 is: which of them have the best settings options? More complete and so on. 😊
yes.. do keep in mind the lenses of the camera's are Very different.. And I didn't include the Caddx because I just can't trust it.. You never know when it will freeze or die on you :| Imagine the horror of lying over water and........
yes well.. "hate" I actually don't really care about the distortion, but the way I lose a sense of haw far things are away.. But yep.. wish they made with 2 lens options as well..
Yeah well hmm.. I don't review their camera's often cause their quality-control is a bit "non existent".. but if they offer new (analogue) camera's I will always consider them for a comparison :)
the "at Night" footage looked pretty bightly lit. I know it's hard to judge, but is the footage a lot brighter than it was to the eye? it would have been useful if you'd recorded the same route for all three & have unlit night footage.
Yes I did consider that but there was No moon-light at all.. flying in that forrest-patch would only be possible without IR-filters.. The darker parts in the recordings were Very dark in real life though.. having a light on on my bike was simply needed...
I picked up the runcam phoenix 2 due to the price. I wish they would update the manual, it shows a pin connector for the osd joystick, it's just bare wires, which one would assume is for camera control which it cannot do.
Just got the toothless. Amaizing picture, but had I known the FOW Was so over the top I wouldn’t have gotten it. FOV specs on their site is misleading IMO..
@@cletussurfsalot7190 also a good camera :) I am twisting Foxeers arm to get them to make a Toothless with different lens (maybe the lens will then be available seperately as well).. IF that happens I'll do a short video on it / include it in a video...
DutchRC Adventures yeah I don’t get it because they’re all over the place with their cameras right now and I really do like their cameras but man they need to make up there mind.
@@cletussurfsalot7190 they say the lens is this Wide cause it wouldn't do as good in the dark otherwise.. As a semi-professional photographer.... I'll just say "no comment" :P
In your opinion which camera of any handles the sun the best? Seems like everything I have turns bright red. I fly after work everyday when the sun is low and it's blinding.
these 2 camera's Both handle that well.. I actually tested that in the first seconds of the "sunny" part. (and yeah.. "sunny" is relative I guess.. it's winter over here ;)) I think most modern CMos camera's (apart from the budget ones) handle direct sunlight well.. For instance: czcams.com/video/Ti_D5MyyHp0/video.html
I don't like how it makes things look further away and as you approach an object it just swooshes right up in your face if that makes sense. Makes it hard to judge a gap imho
I have bought Runcam phoenix 2 and it is on the way (hope without coronavirus :) i wish to all a lot of health ) , but now i am not so sure, may be i should get toothles
Yeahhh they can just Keep that Corona stuff over there or what? ;) I think you'll be alright with the Phoenix2 :) the difference isn't that big I think..
I think the main difference is in the firmware.. Can't be much more sinds it was released so quickly after.. They have added a field of view selection setting..
@@DutchRC Thanks for the answer, more over they are about the same price. By field of view selection you mean: change the fov digitally or 16:9 to 4:3 ?

Very good comparison for these two small cameras, excellent test !!
Thank you very much as always Pascal :) Highly appreciated brother :)

Nice comparison video DRC. Both camera's are great but I like the bit brighter contrast from the Foxeer toothless. Cheers!

very nice comparison. was planning on buying a 2020 'newer' fpv cam. currenty have the phoenix1 and falcor(upgraded) for my long range use
well thank You in that case! :) Both Very nice camera's these I have to say :)
Which would you prefer from this video?
9:33 Runcam wins out here with better detail around bright lights and picking out Scraggle, I'm a Foxeer person until about now.
