      @jennifern2403 Před rokem +8

      @@user-lk7cv8vg7r I feel every actor who had the chance to portray Gomez dramatizes differently, Raul Julia had comedic timing and sensibilities that kept you on edge while still keeping the Addams charm.
      Luis Guzman tried to show the sensitive, nurturing and for lack of better word, softer and “motherly” side of Gomez. The OG, John Astin, showed the fun, relaxed, loving and devil-may-care side to the character. Oscar Isaac, who voiced Gomez, put his own spin while keeping him true to Raul Julia’s portrayal as the benchmark.
      What they all accomplished though is how he’s family oriented, adores Morticia to a fault, passionate, shows how he’s a ride-or-die type and still having the classic Addams-ness to them.

    Raúl Juliá was perfect for Gomez. Every time I watch these movies, his portrayal just gets better and better. Just like wine, it gets better the older it gets. This scene alone is my favorite part when he plays Gomez. His performance here is just astounding. I literally felt the emotion he was putting into it. If I were that officer and Gomez said to me "I had never seen... you!", Gomez would've succeeded in striking me. The way he delivers that was just so powerful. I would've got a little scared and apologized to him for not being good help.

      I think the most inspiring and memorable performance I remember on film is from comedy, Jim Carey in Liar Liar. He's good in dramatic roles, there he brings the drama to the comedy in a great way. Making comedy that makes us feel. He should've gotten an award for that.

      This sounds over the top but I can't think of a film, especially a comedy film, with so many top notch performances. I don't know if it was because addams family had a place in american hearts but everyone seemed to 'bring it'. Like you say, Nathan lane is hilarious here and it is a really small part. The couple who run the summer camp are great, Wednesday's BF at camp is great, Joan Cusack is great and the whole lead family characters are bang on. Such a good film

      I agree.. The first one is a gem, but this one doesn't require any wasted time of introducing characters. This film slams the throttle right from the opening scene and doesn't let up until the end credits roll. Actors, writers, director, wardrobe, set design, lighting, ad nauseum, all nailed their jobs with this one.
