When I saw the first Addams Family movie, Gomez was my favourite. And I was a fool to think that version of him couldn't be topped before I watched the show (the show is amazing and everyone should watch it).
Wow l couldn't get over with so many great one-liners he delivers to perfection.. along with he's so many natural expressions l almost believe him, he could never be out done by anybody.. So real so believable and a fantastic guy you just couldn't disagree with him, he's so convincing. Like when he said "why have kids just to get rid of them?" A classic offbeat response.. Growing up with them watching with my sister, Mom and Dad nothing could be so idea sitting with family when our teenage years seem simpler and that we all felt secure with each other even though they were a lot drama with extreme ups and downs like being in a roller coaster ..The Addams's are what neighbors should be to each other not just plane next door neighbors, and the perfect parents.. We never forget Wendy's one liners. We just lost her a week ago. At 64 she was still so young must have been a difficult life being a heavy along with having 2 or 3 husbands the complicate her.. rest in peace Lisa.
Sure, Luis Guzman isn't as handsome as his predecessors but he plays a fantastic Gomez. Actually, every actor for Gomez has given 110% in the role which only shows how beloved the character is by actors. Gomez is a man of deepest passion and commitment to everything he does, for good or bad. Morticia is the calculating, manipulative mistress who makes sure no one takes advantage of her family and especially not her husband whom she adores or she makes sure they have enough good quality rope to hang themselves with. Hurt her family and she'll bury you alive.
