This is my car. We were very pleased with the help we got from Richard and Christina. Since that day I have replaced the heater hoses, adjusted the fulton visor, and ordered the parts to fix the original fuel filter. And yes, it does say "KISSER" on the hood. The guy I bought it from did that because he was missing a "A" but there was an extra "S" in the trunk
Very cool car you've got there!
Thanks for clearing that up I was googling it lol
The “Kisser” wants to get out on the road and go!
I hope you drive it, show it off and have lots of fun with it!!!!
Congratulations 👍
Maybe he took the S from the name on the trunk, and put a Z there from a Frazer.
Henry Kaiser was a brilliant industrialist. I love his cars.
That engine was used in everything, really not surprising to find it in a tractor or truck bulldozer or generator, legendary
I am impressed with it. We have a Ferguson tractor coming up soon. I'll check if it has this same engine.
This is a larger bore version of the late pre war Graham engine. The industrial version had a different porting layout and less peak power.

Thanks for another guys
Glad you liked it.
Great job Richard ( and Christina) getting the '47 Kaiser running under terrible conditions!
Thanks Vincent!
I agree!
That engine runs really well. Congratulations on a successful will it run.
Thanks Brian! I am very impressed with that engine.
That is an interesting car, it reminds me of a 1950 Plymouth in back.
It does me too!
Christina is a good narrator. She a good cheerleader for you Richard!
Fantastic job you two, must have been really satisfying. Long live Lucy!
Thanks very much. It was very satisfying, particularly to get it done in one day.
great job ran good and nice to see people helping people the sign shows that their are good people and that type people help each other
Thanks Howard. The owners really are good people, and they love this car.
Thank you Christina and Richard for the will it run. That fuel leak was pretty bad. But, all is good leak stoped. Starts on 6 volt now. But the 12 gave it all it needed to get Lucy going. The sign he gave you guys for the shop is cool 😎. Still the best at getting this old Iron going. Thank you for sharing.
💯👍
Thank you as always, Terry. This one was very satisfying, in part because of how much the owner is attached to the car. It means a lot to him.
Great to see to see Richard & Christine start their 49 th vintage car and a Kaiser, wow. I believe Kaiser made the DUKW, amphibious vehicles during WW II. I follow your channel from day 1 when it still was Prague. Keep up the good work. Wondering what car number 50 you're bringing to life is going to be. ❤😊
Thank you for your long-term support. I appreciate more than you can imagine. #50 is really an amazing car. I say that about a lot of cars, but this one is incredible and coming soon.
Great job Richard and Christina once again,❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
Thank you James! Your support is appreciated.
I've also read Kisser in the front of the car 😅
Hey...I got a kiss😊 Thanks for watching!
That what it says. My car, previous owner was missing a "A" but had an extra "S"
Wow, what a unique car, Richard and Christina, you never cease to amaze, too bad you had such terrible weather with the rain
Thanks! It all worked out in the end, even though we were a bit wet.
Haha, heck yeah, I had faith in y’all, had no doubt about you getting her going!
Richard you are da man. I love watching you bring these old forgotten vehicles back to life. Love you guys.
Thank you for the continuing support. We have some great vids in the making.
@@whattherust I know you do and I can't wait to see them.
Nice keep it coming u know how to find a classic 💪 watching an learning 👀🍿
Right on. Thanks for watching!
LOL! I like Christina's "corn field" theory for seized engines. 🙂
U both make a great team, and it's fun to watch your videos 🎉 I do look forward to seeing your posts ☺️😀
Thanks very much, Philip. More is on the way.
Now that kiser is one tuff old bird that really needs to live sounds really good
The corn field effect 😅. That was priceless. Thanks for another awesome video. Take care 😊
Hey, I'm going to research that more😅 It's been true for us. Car in or beside corn field never has a seized motor! Thanks for watching we appreciate it 🙏
Reminds me of the old Hee Haw show cornfield county 😊
@@bigbill709 yes! Oh so funny! I remember that!
She runs amazingly nice
Amazing how blessed you all are to find old vehicles like that just everywhere it crazy
I was just thinking about that today, how these cars seem to find us. One lead leads to another and another and another.
Congratulations on your 49 videos
Good shape for the shape it's in.
Tiger Paws. They grip the road. Sears sold them at one time .
Another great video! Great job, guys!
Thanks for the support Danny. Glad you liked it.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩🍩☕️☕️👀😎👍 This is going to be very cool ! Have seen any one work on that car anywhere. Tiger paw was mid 70’s good luck on start ! 👀😎👍🚗
Many farms used heavy duty engine oils in all of the equipment and personal vehicles. So that is probably why those weren't seized up. 😊
Another fabulous video!! You are spoiling us. Thank you both ❤❤
Thank you for the nice comment. More content is on the way.
What a fantastic engine. It sounds so sweet, congratulations again to you both.
Thanks for watching!
I've heard of Kaiser cars don't remember ever seeing one .
it was cute :) Chirstina sometimes has no idea what is happening, but she is evolving into a petrolhead, and now has some briliiant ideas too :) and Richard is so patient and nice! good to see you ^^ (i like the rusty sign too!!!)
That sweet classic car is screaming for a full restore? Love it.
Wow! What a great video! A car i never saw with an engine I never saw! Just amazing and enjoyable! Thanks so much!
Thanks Roger. We are glad you liked it. This is an engine I had never worked on before, so good fortune was with us.
That was a great day! Well done you two!❤
Thanks very much. It was a good day.
Hope you all brought your foul weather gear with you.😊
The content just keeps getting better and better. Even in the middle of a downpour. And what a solid rare project car that would make. Kudos to both of you.
Thanks very much Gary. We have a 61 Chrysler coming up with factory air. I think you will like that one.
Good job team Rust.
Very rare.
Congratulations on #49 video
Thanks!
She would be awesome restored! You can see the beauty in her. Keep up the good work. I look forward to all your videos.
Thank you, Donna. More videos coming!
One of the best episodes ever with a very cool rare car. Loved it! That one guys "cackle" laugh was too good to. lol. Keep up the good work kids.
Thank you for the great feedback! We enjoyed making this one a lot. More are on the way!
I ran tiger paws on my 65 barracuda in 67 my uncle had a kaiser
Richard you're handier than a pocket on a shirt 😊.
That is a great line. I have to remember to use it!
I wasn't that familiar with the Kaisers, i like Hudsons more, especially the Hornet, another informative video, good job!
I love Hudsons. If I ever get the chance to rescue one I will jump at it.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I am really happy that you guys have gotten a sponsor, and your channel is growing. You are both very good people, and that makes it easy to cheer you on. I look forward to seeing you grow for many years to come. Congratulations.
We really appreciate your support.
Interesting rig for sure loved the video as always yall thank you!
You're very welcome. Thank you for the support.
Nice job cool car kaiser good show 👍👍👏👏👏❤️🇺🇲🇺🇲👍
WOW ! This would make the perfect rescue/restore/project car !!!! Overall it seems to be solid and in pretty good condition.
Right, it has good bones and a strong engine. A bit or work and it will be road-ready.
Hi yall from west Alabama hugs
Hi Jamie!
@@whattherust how are y’all
I enjoyed the video as always I was glad you guys got it going so fast plus you were working with the 6 volt system way to go Richard and Christina
Thanks very much Dale!
amazing those vehicles used 6 volt as long as they did-nice for the 12 volt good job Rich and Cristina!! Onto the next-minus the rain!!!!
Thank you, Alexander. We are working on an amazing car now, and should have the video posted soon.
WOOOOOHOOO go Richard and Christina what a solid old Motor the Kaiser where a solid car
❤❤❤❤ keep them comming 😊still really love u two together working for the weekend like rhe song . You 2 r like RADAR LOVE
That is an awesome song, Tanner. I remember turning up the radio in the car back in the 80s when it came on. Thanks for the support.
I literally laughed out loud when Christina said if we see a rat with really nice hair we’re gonna know. 😂
Absolutely amazing job Richard and Christine keep up the great work absolutely the best channel on CZcams ❤
Thank you for the kind words Wayne.
@@whattherust your very welcome thank you for sharing
I could watch these two all day let's get them to one million
Very cool! There's a Kaiser Manhattan sitting in a yard near me.
Your channel is worth watching All the ads. That utube Will not let me skip
Good to see you guys back been missing you
Thanks very much. We will be posting more regularly now that the worst winter weather is over.
Fun video! Very satisfying!
Glad you liked it!
The Kaizer was also made by a Frazer having the same engine. Ytube Cold war motors has a 1949 that is used for a summer beater. Neat old cars.
Cwm!!!!
Engine sounds healthy, Great video.
Thanks very much!
Kaiser and Fraser were around from 1947 to about 1957, i believe. Not around for very long, but they did produce some very cool and unique cars as you can see. 😎 Darrin was indeed the name of their stylist. The Kaiser Darrin was their sports car, highly collectable today. Ive seen some at the Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions sell very high. One sold for over $100,000. And its interesting you mentioned the back seat and trunk area for space, Richard, because they were very popular with campers. They sold a tent you could put over the trunk and turn it into a bed, essentially. Burl Ives, famous for Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, owned a Kaiser Vagabond back in the late 40s. Very cool period in automotive history. Continental also made engines for tractors and airplanes, still do, i believe. AWESOME job getting this one running again, Richard and Christina! Thank you for sharing!! 😎
That is good info David. Speaking of Burl Ives, we did a Will It Run video in his hometown a while back. Thank you for the continued support.
My Father had one of these cars, but it had the rear hatch that was mentioned earlier in the video. The whole rear window opens with the trunk. It was long enough to sleep in on a camping trip. Very rare, and cool.
Those are awesome. It was like having a station wagon without the length. Thanks for watching.
I can still remember occasionally seeing those on the road when I was a kid. My father used to praise both Kaiser and Continental engines for their durability and build quality. I hope the owner finishes what you started. It would be really cool if the owners of the cars you start sent you photo or video updates that you could show on your channel. Looking forward to #50.
Thanks Kevin. We love it when people keep us posted on progress. That is a good idea to let you all know. I'll make that happen, perhaps as a community post or a short video.
Hey Richard and Christina great job as always but looked to be a long day. This was cool to see a 47 Kaiser.I know they were Kaiser Frazier not sure when it was just Kaiser. But I did not know they had Continental engines, learn something new every day 😊
Glad you liked it!
Richard and Christina, the two of you are in the top 5 of my favorite car/truck "will it start" CZcamsrs!!!
We appreciate it, John. I imagine that puts us in some good company!
And the crowd goes wild 😊
Richard The Kasier is neat looking car i always find those cars very interesting
Yeah they made a Kaiser Darrin too, a little roadster thing, rightly named after Darrin or Darren. Cool beans! Oh yeah that Darren had a fiberglass body I believe and the doors slid into the rear quarters, pretty wild for it’s time. I had a Great Uncle that worked at Checker, he was some kind of supervisor or foreman, but he sure loved his Checker cars, those things were built like a tank.
i love this man never stops till it gets running he is my hero no shit i would have gave up a long time not him more power to you my friend keep on keeping on one of your best subsiber
That is very nice. Thank you very much.
Thanks!
Thank you Terry! We appreciate your dedicated support 🙏
I've seen quite a few Kaisers at car shows, mostly early 50's. There are quite a few videos of 48's on CZcams.
Great effort starting the Kisser (HA)! Sounds awesome too. Can't wait to see what #50 "will it start" will bring. It is amazing to see a car sit so long and still run after all those years. When I saw your video come up today, I said to myself ( OH BOY) Another will it start from Richard and Christina! Maybe the Kiaser (AKA Lucy)will get a new lease on life. Very unusual car, seldom seen on the roads these days.
Thanks Ronald. I think the owner will have this car back on the road by Spring. He is super-motivated now that the car is running.
Hey u guys firstly thanks for another great video and secondly Richard U should be very proud Christina does an excellent job especially her catching little things and the way she reminds you is awesome she doesn’t try and put o. The spot she reminds you in a way that your the actual doer she just has a good eye…u guys remind me of myself and my wife she knows me and everything that I do she is a part of it I commend u guys keep up the good work and keep the videos coming till next time much love and stay ready
Thank you very much for the support. More videos are coming soon.
I like the cornfield theory 👍😁🎩
that car runs awesome.
I really like your program channel really
I own a 47 Special. I knew it would start. My continental has never let me down.
Great episode you two! I learned a lot about these Kaisers. Being in the ARMY for 26 years, I've seen a lot of Continental engines but were all diesels. Didn't know they made gas engines for a lot of applications as I found them to be very reliable. Now I know why Checker cabs run forever, and I mean forever!
Thanks very much Robert. This was the first Continental engine I have worked on, and I am impressed!
U can tell Richard was getting tired when he looked over that fuel line spraying gas.
Exactly.
Cool car, and i enjoyed the sound of the rain in the background.
That is good to hear. We did all we could to keep the noise down, but it was impossible to eliminate it.
That was my favorite first start from you two. It reminds me of my flathead 6, 1951 F3 Ford that is unrestored with 40,000 original miles. It looks almost exactly like that continental engine. I was just about to tell you to switch over to 12 volt directly to the starter when you went with that method. I only drive my pickup between May1 and November 1 as I live way upstate ny near the Canadian border near Montreal. Sometimes on first startup when it doesn't start right up I just hook it to the tractor and pull it and pop the clutch in 3 gear. Of course I can do this because the drive train and tires and clutch are all in good working order as it had only sat idle for about 6 months great job with that Kaiser though to both you and Christina.
Thanks very much. Your 51 F3 sounds amazing. 40,000 miles is incredible.
Really enjoyed the video. Working in the rain (Brave)
Glad you liked it! More on the way.
Damn, what a cool car, good find.
Thanks Jerry. We came across this car just randomly. We are very glad we did.
Keep in touch with this owner - it'd be good to see you take a ride once restored.
I am the owner. They will defiantly get to drive it once it's on the road
Another great video!! Thanks, great car 🙂
Glad you liked it!
I love that car
I am definitely familiar with Kaiser, but I have never seen one up close. These are really cool cars.
Sweet. Thanks for this. A rare car and a cool video !!
Glad you liked it!
What a rig!
Never seen in detail before.
Thank you very much!
Greets from Germany
Glad you liked it!
Congrats on the 49th.. of those 49, how many were you unable to get running? Thx for bringing us along on another adventure... Take care and God Bless...
That is a good question, Gary. Of the 49, one took two attempts (1950 Chevy), and one, a 1949 Chevy, foiled us. Before the most recent 49, I failed on a 1963 Riviera, and probably some others I don't remember. I have been doing this type of thing since way before CZcams.
2 thoughts,
1 leave 12 volt battery in with ballast resister in ign to drop coil to 6v in run, and ballast in dash to drop gauge operating volts to 6.
2 get an 8v battery, little more juice to the starter and coil, but won’t hurt anything. Been done before.
What company took over Keiser ?
Jeep. The 1966 Jeep I bought Richard says Kaiser Jeep on the ID plate.
Kaiser-Frazer bought Willys-Overland in March of 1953, American Motors bought Kaiser Jeep in February of 1970.
Nice job! I Iive out in the country and have some older vehicles, but I don't know if I should park any of them near the corn field! Ha!
Wow. I didn’t know that the Continental was Checkers go to engine. Where did all those cabs go? 🧐 I’ve seen these engines in generators, pumps, and even construction equipment. Great job you two on getting this piece of history running and closer to back on the road. Thank you!!
You're welcome Glen. Checker switched over to Chevy engines at some point later in the production run, but the earlier ones were Continentals. Checker taxis were junked by the thousands in the 60s and 70s, and they disappeared quickly. Production stopped around 1982, and the last one in service ran until the late 90s. Most were long gone by then.
It's actually the Negative battery cable that's nice and thick as all Kaisers were positive ground. Looks like you figured that out! I had one recently that I had to resort to 12 volts to get it to run. After that, it started on six no problem! Kaisers are some of the fastest starting engines you'll encounter.
Great job!
