I use this. Not every time but in the winter more often. I have found it to be similar to the Auto Finesse aqua coat. You can spray it on and hit it with a pressure washer and it does the same thing at a 1/4 of the cost! Great video as always Jon! (edit: mine does bead when worked in with pressure washer)
Good, honest, non pretentious review Jon. I use it as a clay lube and I've never had any problems using it that way or as a detail spray on the door shuts and so on. Its ideal for someone on a budget or someone getting into car care. Any paint protection is better than none at all.
@Fay Zz I do use Demon Shine as a clay bar lube. I add a bit of water to it and the clay bar glides over the surface really well.
@Fay Zz Use plenty of product on the panel to avoid marring.
@@dogbite5509 I’ve tried it and went in the bin , no where near enough lubricity in it to use as a clay lube , would Destroy softer paints
@@ImranAli-rp4kd I am sorry to hear this. I added a bit of water to my bottle of DS and it was fine as a clay lube. Admittedly I have used it on VW, Ford and Mercedes paints.
@@dog-bite186 them are harder clear coats , on these new cars even Mercedes and bmw , they all got soft clear coats , you only have to look at the car the wrong way and it gets swirled up
I use this as a rinse aid, spray all over the car then rinse off before I dry, definitely aids the process and makes life easier, especially on unprotected cars.
Exactly how I use it!! 👍
Been waiting for someone to do a video on this for agaes well done 👏
Used it for a couple of years on the daily driver. Works well and easy to use in winter when it’s cold and damp. Never as good as a proper wax, but keeps a 20, 000 mile a year car shiny through the year. Great review
100% agree, as a weekend warrior this gets the car some short term protection/top up especially in winter. It can be applied when the car is wet or dry. I've used this for years and it lasts ages because you don't need much. my last bottle was 4 quid in Aldi... and it's quick😁
The smell of this stuff is addictive, usually use this throughout the winter months. Also find the coverage and ease of use with the trigger is far superior compared to other high ends I've bought.
Managed to get these 1 litre bottles for £1.25 each in Wilkinsons when they randomly reduced them so I bought 6.
That's insanely cheap
I love the stuff! It's one product I swear by! It gets rid of any water spots, leaves a great finish and give you a good bead. I highly recommend this!
Bought this about 5 years ago, used it all and have been using the bottle/trigger ever since, the trigger has outlasted both autosmart and autoglym triggers. Says a lot
Great as a drying aid for a car that’s been detailed previously. It’s only snobbery that would put people off but it’s great value. Excellent review 👍🏻
Hit the nail on the head there. It's great as a cheap detail spray, buffs to a decent enough shine.
I bought "Demon Shine" on the strength of your review Jon...an absolutely excellent product which I cannot recommend highly enough!!!
The next wash will be the real test to see how it goes...
Great review. I’ve tried it seemed fine. I like to try lots of products and I’ve gone for the gyeon. The spray bottle is excellent quality, I’ve reused it and it’s still going strong.
Great video review we use the trade version that you get from halfords, when we do the last mile pre delivery clean on customer cars at Cinch. Customer always seem happy with the shine when it arrives so job done i guess. Could you do a review on the trade Valet range from carplan.
Morrisons were selling the kits off a couple of years ago for £5, I will use it in door jams etc. Interesting though!
Mate brought me the Demon Shine valet pack as a Bday present, will be using it as a rinse aid👍🏼.
Used this for years along with expensive products and I rate it also use it as a rinse aid and I like buying the pour on shine and diluting it in the bottle and using it like that
I use it as a quick detailer on the daily drive. It does bead and offer some protection, but in reality it only lasts a week before losing its shine or protection. Which is ok for a cheap product to use on a regular basis for a car that’s constantly in use :-). Another great vid though John.
When I dry my car off I spray a bit on my waffle cloth and the surface dries lovely. The car is ceramic coated and polished with some carnauba wax so it has a good base to lie on .
Been using this stuff for years on my daily. Does the job, but the letting it dry and buff is a toptip.
Tbh it’s works well I picked it for b&m from £2.50 must say I was impressed. And at the Price point you can be generous with your sprays!
Another great video Jon and many thanks for your informative reviews. I have a dark car and live in a hard water area. Plagued by water spots I bought a bottle some time ago upon recommendation from a neighbour and love this stuff as a drying aid. I wash and rinse the car thoroughly and spray on while still wet. It leaves a great shine and removes water marks easily. A cheap solution, which works well for me.
I'm a first time user of this product and I must agree with your review 😊 It works wonderfully easy for someone who dont won't to spend hours polishing there car, 🤔🇬🇧👍
I use as drying aid but after I wash car and rinse I then spray all over windows and all then rinse of with pressure washer and no smearing or streaking and acts like window sealant. Also makes easier to then dry as very water repellent. Lasts around 1 week
As you said better shine when left, Would be interested in re testing hydroscopic???? after left for few hours to cure/dry
Here in Norway it's all about Fusso wax , and if you dare to use Turtle Wax, you're using bad producs and you're not a propper detailer. I like TW.
The newer turtle wax stuff is superb! Granted the old fusso was bloody great too...not so much the newer version
@@pensansproductions3278 I've used TW's Hybrid solutions pro now for a year and a bit and i love it. not overly complicated for a weekend warrior like my self. Ive heard good things abour the old fusso
Problem with Fusso is that it's a bucket of chemicals...so is everything else I suppose. Fusso is loaded with fluorocarbons which as you Norwegians know is now banned from the other wax - ski wax. Flouro's are evil for the environment and human health. Not knocking Fusso per se as I've never used it - and won't.
And btw...yes, new Turtle Wax products are excellent!
I use demon shine to remove compound polish a bit like panel wipe to remove fillers in compounds 😊 works well
As below I do the same ,pour some In A watering can, then pour over a wet car and most of the water is gone. Halfords sell it as hi rinse wax ,about a tenner for 5 litres
Been using this product for a few years now and it always brings the car up nice...
That stuff smells lovely too!
The "Hum A Did ditty" 😂 remember clip from 'it will be alright on the night'? 😂
Love your videos man!
I buy the carplan trade valet high wax rinse which I think is the same thing but even cheaper, and I dilute it down as a rinse and drying aid and safety net when drying off. Sometimes even after a snow foam and a contact wash with two buckets and a rinse or two on a paint colour that hides dirty well (e.g. Aston Meteorite silver) I may have missed some dirt, so knowing this is on the paint as a a rinse aid means any area that is still holding water is usually still dirty even if it is just a fine surface dusting, not a grit. If I see an area with water still clinging, I touch it gently with the microfibre cloth. If after this the cloth is dirty I go back to the bucket and wash and rinse the section again and repeat with this stuff to check the panel is clean . So basically I use it as a sacrificial product as extra safety when doing a contact wash on cars colours that hide dirt well.
Good stuff as an interim shine product. I also like their tyre shine product too 😎
Used to use this all the time , but I use Carplan super gloss now , gives a far better shine and lasts longer.
@forensicdetailing The great thing about these Carplan bottles is the screw thread which is exactly the same as a snow foam cannon bottle. I save these bottles when empty and use them with different formulas in when detailing. Snow foam at the start of a wash, then change over to a snow foam cannon application polymer sealant solution for the final coat before drying with the microfibre. Also great for an APC solution when I've got heavily contaminated commercial vehicle fleets to clean and need something to really start working on that road film. Save your carplan bottles and use them with your snow foam cannon !! Great video by the way, thanks for posting.
Good hack that is. It's a thick HDPE bottle. And some if these lance makers are charging 20 quid for the flasks alone. Good money if your dumb enough to pay for it when it costs about 50p to make
Hi buddy slowly getting through your videos. A question, have you ever tried Mer polish?
Atb
Paul
My missus got some of their stuff and I was really surprised with how decent it was
Hi Jon, top quality video as usual.
Quick question: what cloths do you use currently for buffing off the like of sealants & waxes? I'm after some new ones. I've watched several of your videos but with them being older videos didn't know if they are still relevant. Thanks 👍👍
My clothes come direct from a mill in China. TRC edgeless 300 is a good all-rounder
@@ForensicDetailing Cheers mate. Where from Ebay or any specific company?
In the states we tend to use meguiars last touch detailing spray. About $24 for a gallon.
I love this stuff for a weekly maintenance wash. I use it as a drying aid and it seem to get rid of any water spots. It seems good for that purpose.
take me through how you use this please?
@0badboy0 I've used this after a wash and dry with a microfibre drying towel. After drying, a couple of sprays per panel and buff with a dry microfibre. Gives a surprisingly good shine. It also seems to make water spots disappear if they aren't too bad. Not bad for a cheap product.
i use it as a regular alloy wheel freshen up to get rid of brake dust but my alloys are Gtechniq protected anyway
Some time last year, Joe on the Car Cleaning Guru channel used the Demon Shine Valet Pack on his dad's new bike. He rated the Spray on Shine when he used it on the bike's paint (but questioned its longevity) and the bike came up really nice.
The guru talks wisdom, top guy he is
I am tempted to try their TFR. They make Car Gods. Cars Gods do have a full range of valeting products and in 5 litres drums. CarPlan, Car Gods, Demon and probably a couple more, are all owned by Tetrosyl. Spartans is their suplier as they are owned by Tetrosyl.
Jon, try some Pure Definition products. Entry level but got some good stuff. The best tyre dressing for me so far, is theirs. The extra gloss tyre and trim gel.
I would recommend Autobrite Direct Top Gloss instead of this. Works in a very similar way, only slightly more £ but leaves a much better gloss finish. Great product
Good viedeo I Use Tutlewax Wax and dry the most as thats a wax but I have lots of this. I wish they did a demon wax where you can spray it on and it gives a good shine and protect.
Ive been using this for years now we have 3 cars I use it wet on good paint work it does a brilliant job for the price you pay I've always used it when the car is wet with either a autoglym synthetic shammy or sams drying towel and I must admit the demon foam is not that great I my experience might be low hose pressure great review as always take care
Thank you paul
I've used the snow foam which was good!
I have used many car plan products most are ok for their value ,I wonder how good the pound shop range of car products is .
In my opinion, I think this stuff is great and does serve a purpose. If you're out at a car show and want it to look good, spray on and wipe off. Takes less than 10 minutes to do the entire car and will look great for the rest of the day.
I’ve been using this to remove water marks or poor buffing streaks the day following a wash and sorts the car right out.
The gloss doesn’t last but it’s got it’s purpose.
Used to use it as a 'finish' on the car after washing, if I was going to drive the car, or after a quick wash
O/T but glad the intro was back at the start of the vid! Interesting result !
use to use that alot back in the day, really good imo
I prep cars for sale for a high end car dealer, outside of a full paint correction or enhancement (the “real” pro detailing products) then if it’s just a wash & wipe or a quick shine to an already prepared car, I use Demon shine. I find the best way to use it is to “not” buff
Just spray on, wipe in & let then just dry/evaporate out
Does it leave streaks, or does the film just evaporate away?
Don’t use to much = no streaking
A couple of spritzes per panel
Another great video mate :-) Have you done a wet panel/dry panel comparison with this?
Thx I've not compared wet but I've used it wet works ok
Iv been use it for year it’s good stuff but much better in the summer time on a warm panels dry faster
Have you used meguires hybrid paint coating??
I can be a bit of a weekend warrior when the mood takes me and like to to use this product when clay baring the car
Also good as a clay lube. Cheapest in B&M
My go to favourite is AutoSmart 'Cobalt', bloody love that stuff, but it's not cheap and you have to buy it in 5 litres direct from AutoSmart, which my hubby gets for me and I have to use it sparingly 🙈😏
So especially in winter I like to look for cheaper alternatives and wondered if this was any good
I found that product demon shine years ago fantastic product.
You looked at a black car under lights, for £5 it looked like it did a good job. I have a bucket full of Car Plan products, they bring our cars up to a very acceptable level.
I use their shampoo, then spray this on at the end and I’m very happy with what it does. I have a T6 which would normally take a long time to do, I have 3 young children so my time is at a premium. This allows me some protection of the paint which I can do in 30 mins or so, that’s crucial for me.
I cleaned my mountain bike the other day and blacked the tyres up at the end, my 4 year old bike looked brand new, it really did a great job so much so, that I’d been looking for a new bike but now have stopped looking.
Can we hear your wife at the end of the video Jon summoning you? Haha... another fantastic video. Keep up the excellent content mate👍👌👍
Your video ages ago on the 19.99 Demon box was one of my favourites 🤣 always worth going to the bottom end and see if a gem can be found. I have used the Demon wheels before and honestly believe water would be a stronger cleaner….
I absolutely agree. When I was a child washing my dad's car for him we used the Demon Wheels cleaner and it just did nothing at all (despite, if memory serves, being an acid cleaner).
I use demon shine on my already clean engine bay as its cheap as chips and keeps up with the regular maintenance of it
For a fiver from B&M it’s not bad at all. My black Civic Type R FK8 came up good after I applied Demon Shine Spray on Shine. When you’ve got two young kids and can’t spend all day detailing the motor properly, this stuff is the next best thing.
I use a demon shine bottle for my snow foam as I lost the original, works perfectly😂
I've had two of these from when the demon kits were a fiver at Morrisons all those years ago. Still using the bottles and trigger sprayers. Only reason I wouldn't buy again is because TW Dry And Shine is better value because it lasts so long.
the bulk version is carplan hi wax rinse, £10 for 5l. Nice cheap drying aid type thing.
I actually like using the demon tyre shine only one I tend to use tbh only demon product I use tho
The detailing spray my dad has been using for years is my mum's "Mr Sheen" (works for him). Horses for courses!
Completely different topic but thought I would ask, value your opinion & advice.l have seen a lot of detailers lately using APC to clean steering wheels? Thoughts? Surely damage over a period of time? Better to use leather cleaner?
Well if the APC is for use on leather should be good. But if it's some powerfull caustic external degreaser then perhaps not mate
@@ForensicDetailing would something like surfex HD at a very low concentration do the job John? Or again too powerful? In the detailer world it seems to be most reach out for a APC rather than leather cleaners.
I swear by this stuff. It’s great.
It does an decent enough job for the price point but detail sprays that look great, add a little protection and bead are hardly too expensive to go with instead. Infinity Wax Rapid Detailer is £17.99 in the pro bottle for example. That is more money of course but it’s £17.99, not £100!
Was looking at their frost repellent in Asda. Was thinking should I go for it especially with the colder months
Dont bother its crap, doesnt stop it and leaves a nasty film on your screen, had to power wash my screen off, chucked it striaght in the bin
Hard to beat rain x
So proba use the 2 cloth buff method
Brilliant channel!!!
Apparently this is unavailable in America unless you want to pay $15 per liter on amazon. At that price you may as well buy seal'n shine. I've used lucas oil slick mist which is 24oz for $7, probably similar.
I’ve had good experience with the Lucas Slick Mist. Cheap at Wally World here in the states. I’ve since went to the Turtle Wax Hybrid Products and have been Very Pleased.
@@jusb1066 same here in Australia....we pay an arm and leg for products that USA folks buy at Walmart cheap..
Big fan of concentrated wet coat. But price. Wow. Maybe worth a go
Love your reviews!
love your good vibes
People always hate on Demon products but forget that they're literally £5 a bottle... what other spray on shine are you going to get for £5? Most decent shine sprays or coatings are £15+ and are obviously going to give better results than Demon Shine. However, for the price, you simply cannot go wrong - used this for years and does it exactly what it says. Just doesn't last very long
My mate used it on his white astra and it didn't even do anything can you not use it on white car
Sometimes it is useful, like AG SRP. Sometimes you just really need to sell a car :) Its another tool to have in the toolbox, but I'm either a wet wax guy or I'll use Bh QD mixed down to 10:1. I do worry about the long term effects of spraying this demon shine, and I don't think I would buy it personally as my neighbour does use all the demon products, and over the past 2-3 years his polar white car has turned a rather darker yellow-ey cream colour :(
Do you think is ok for using it as a clay lub? 5lt are cost 15-20 euro here
I would not use as clay lube as its going to dry and form a film of material on the surface.. really with clay you want to strip the surface in prep for polishing.
Carplan no1 super gloss is great for beading I use it on my car after every wash
Me too. Brilliant product but can't find any 'proper' reviews.
good vid, cheers !
Cheers raffa benitaz good video
Great job👍👍👍
It's a cheap product work nice on good paintwork. But don't expect miracles if your paint is slightly dull. It's a quick temporary shine doesn't last long but a top up of an already decent paint job.
I had it car ceramic coated recently, I’d like to maintain that lovely gloss after a wash. Could I still use this? Or something else recommended?
Thanks
you could m8 if your on a budget or use a SI02 topper from the coating provider
@@ForensicDetailing thanks for replying
Csrplan do a sio2 spray and it isn’t cheap but I haven’t tried it , I’ve tried this and I think it’s rubbish
Great video, Jon.👍could this product be used as a clay lube?
Not really because it leaves material behind
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon.👍
Does the job for £5 , I love the stuff because sometimes you just need your car clean and shiny when you don’t have the time to spend 3hrs properly cleaning it.
Sometimes it's just about the shine...that's all.
@@audieconrad8995 it shines up well 👍
Spray on a wet car after washing, I've used it as a drying aid
John - I don't suppose you've heard of Shift Car Care? I keep getting their adverts on my feed now and it looks fairly good. It claims to be a waterless wash but has some ceramic coating properties. Looks like it could be a contender with BSD. Be interested to see your review on it.
not heard of it but search you tube for "the great ceramic spray scam"
@@ForensicDetailing great video, I’m a sucker for trying new fancy things I think I’m the one these people target haha
I use it as a drying aid
Tbh I agree with this review 100%.
It’s an easy to use, cheap, convenient product.
Wouldn’t use it as a protectant no way.
Rinse aid - yes.
On the go QD - yes
Cheap cars (not my own) - yes
People who don’t care about their car - yes
Door jams and bonnet seal - yes
I think it’s an all round good product. It’s just marketed wrong by car plan. If it was advertised as a quick detailer it would make more sense. But I suppose it’s aimed at the non detailing market where a quick gloss is what they want.
Fits a lot of needs though.
I always turn my nose up at it in Halfords guess I'm a snob might be worth a go
I know it's a late comment but it's normally £3:50 in asda - Tesco, years ago it used to be £1:50
Hi Jon, have you reviewed Car plan Super gloss? I use it all the time and it's a great product at a very reasonable price 👍🏼
Not yet m8
@@ForensicDetailing worth giving it a try. I use on my customers cars and I get some good comments 🙂
I use CarPlan No.1 Super Gloss all the time. Love the glossiness, easy light spray on, buff off. No streaks, beads well. Every two months I reapply. Haven't waxed or used a sealant again. Super Gloss, super quick, super easy 😅
