Invest in a tripod to hold your camera.

Thanks for pointing out the return spring within crankcase cover, mine was also disconnected. I didn't notice this and I had already loosely bolted the cover on. I took a break to find the torque spec of the cover's bolts and luckily came across your video :) Do you know what the torque level is for the right hand crankcase cover? I can't find the value anywhere within the services manual. I'm assuming it's 9 lbf.ft, just like the oil filter cover.

Thank you for the video it helps before diving into doing it myself. But why wouldn't you take it for a test ride instead of doing a bench test you know what I mean.

I did a bench test first just to make sure everything seemed ok before taking out of the garage. If it didn’t pass the bench test then there’s no reason to test ride it before making corrections. I did take it for a test ride after I finished the video. Thanks for watching.

It seems to be fine no issues but I don't have too many hours on it. I don't see any reason why there would be an issue the clutch baskets look the same as any other dirtbike or atv I've taken apart and the XR250L did not have a judder spring and there was never a problem with its clutch. Thanks for watching.

Could you please show that nice stand you got for it?

This is actually a stand a built for rebuilding the transmission in my F250 but it works well as a motorcycle stand. Here is a link to the video I got the plans from. The info on the stand starts at 2:00. When I use it for the motorcycle I put the stand on its side but upright will also work if you want the bike higher off the ground. czcams.com/video/CibkM7Kz5O8/video.html

My stock 2014 crf250l has terrible clutch engagement from what I'm used to but I come from a KDX200. It's really hard to pop the clutch over obstacles.. Did this help with slippage?? Thanks!

I had a KDX200 and agree there is no comparison when popping the clutch to get the front end over obstacles but the KDX is lighter and a two stroke. Removing the judder spring does make the clutch engage a little better but I don't think its worth doing if your not already replacing your clutch. I think the bigger issue is the bike is geared to high and you would be better off re-gearing to a 13 tooth front sprocket and a 41 tooth in the rear. I put the 13 tooth on my bike and it helped but I am also going to replace the rear. I think for your time and money you are better off re-gearing.

What is that drain nipple under the case cover for?

    • @mtrmotorsports977

I’m assuming you’re talking about next to the screen when the case is off. That is where the oil flows to or from the oil filter not sure which direction it flows.
      Thanks for watching.

I have a 2013 crf250l with 6k miles. Still has the original clutch. How do you like the clutch without the judder spring? Isn't the judder spring vital for your transmission if you're riding on asphalt? Probably a dumb question, but do you have to soak the metal discs that connect to the inner hub? Can you reuse the coolant after draining it? Sorry for all the questions.

I think the clutch has a little more positive engagement. The judder spring does soften the clutch but XRs did not have them and their where no issues with their transmission and I believe the the XR650L still does not use them. You only need to soak the friction discs and yes you can reuse the coolant but I would filter it with a paint screen or something else just in case you got dirt or debris in it.
      Thanks for watching.
