  • In today's video I show you how to service your clutch pack on the notorious CRF250L dual sport. This clutch system is similar to a lot of motorcycles so this is a valuable skill to have and is fairly easy to do with some basic tools! We also remove the judder spring to add some more grab and she is good to go!

For those of you new to this channel, this guy has pushed the crf250L further than anyone else. There’s a Canadian guy who takes the 250L on enduros, but this guy has taken it to motocross, trails, and winter riding.

So thanks for the great video on the Judder Spring removal. This is a modification im considering for my 250, please keep the following in mind as it pertains to the Judder spring.. I have a question for you or a viewer that was not totally explained here or in other places. What i would like is for the clutch action fully engaged to free for shifting distance to be decreased while having the lever up close to the hand grip. here is what i have done so far; Stunt clutch lever. The lever has three positions for the cable from the hinge point. The farthest from the hinge, where im at, with the lever action should be minimized and require the a harder pull. If it was closer to the hinge, it would be easier to pull, but require further movement (not desired). As it sits now, adjusted on engaged for no slipping, the lever requires a full pull to fully disengage the transmission for shifting. Moving the lever stops closer always put a drag on the tyranny when it should be free, or alternatively clutch slippage when engaged. is this an effect of the judder spring? Thanks for any responses in advance.

Another great video! I picked up a new 2018 leftover a few weeks ago and I love it!!! I grew up riding a 1975 Honda XL250 in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I used to be able to wheelie that bike for miles and launch it off of insane jumps even though it only had 5.5 inches of suspension travel. Now Im an old fat guy who wants to do a little off road riding. Im sure this bike is up to any challenge I can throw at it.
After listening to all the hype about the judder spring “problem” on the internet, your video has calmed my fears and I should just ride it as it is and only replace the clutch when it needs it.
Thanks for doing the motorcycle lift video! My wife mentioned the other day about getting one. I told her that We didn’t have enough height to get one but after watching your video I can plainly see I do.
Thanks for all of your wonderful videos. Watching them feels like Im hanging with a friend.

I am having a 2012 and just changed my clutch 2 years ago, unfortunately i think they used a crap company in the HONDA shop where i fixed it, because now its starting again after just 2 years when the old, original one was in for 6years without any probs...yeah, until a newbie rode it for two days and nearly burned it totally :/
This time i make it by myself and this vid helps a lot. Just bought the new 300L two days ago...damn thats another step, she is 5cm shorter, didnt see this before, actually i LOVE my old CRF250L perfect size. Had the Rally too, sold her after 6month, felt like Grandma :D CHEEEEERS

I own a 2018 CRF250L rally. I really like this bike. Being a 200 lb dirt biker yes it is a little soft. However if you weigh less than 150 it would be a good bike. I've taken mine over Georgia pass in Breckenridge. It heard it has also done a 300-mile Day ride. This was all asphalt and encompassed four mountain passes. The little guy does great. However for intermediate and above off-road it is somewhat lacking. First modification will be a plastic gas tank. After that a lithium battery and maybe an FMF can. This bike could use firmer suspension and a little more displacement. However if you can modify or live with the weak points it's a great bike... Just saying.

I'm trying to find out if a crf250x flywheel will work from what I read is the L's flywheel wt is 59.0 ozs & the X's is 16.0 ozs thats all most 3 Lbs lighter that has to make a huge difference in power !! I also took my pipe back haft off and put my 1996 yz250 2 stroke silencer on there had to make a short piece of pipe to go between to make it fit under like it's supposed to that was a huge weight reduction and it actually sounds like it's got a lot of power!!
