Iâve really been liking intermittent fasting, and itâs actually made my workouts more effective and energetic. Also, fat acceptance in general is profoundly dangerous, both physically and a mindset. Iâm saying this as a woman who was 115 pounds heavier 6 years ago, and lost it all due to diet, healthy living and exercise.
Wow, I totally feel this on a spiritual level... I also have issues with IF during my monthly friend visits and I'm also anemic ... I would seriously faint after or in the middle of my workouts so I don't workout during that time.

So far, I've lost 6 lbs, and went from barely lifting 25 on the dumbbells, to easily getting 30s. I started deadlifting as well at 110 lbs. I've been able to really slim down, but not lose any muscle.
Fasting isn't for everyone but it fits my lifestyle. I often go with out lunch or dinner or both some times because of work. So I consume less calories while moving at work which is lots of walking, going up and down a set of moveable stairs to grab things off high shelfs, and just moving ingeneral.
I decided to try the elimination diet and discovered that I have a milk allergy that was causing heart rhythm issues. Ever since cutting WAY back on dairy, I feel much more confident and stronger. Hey Mr Swole, I just wanted to thank you! I have been watching your videos since about a year now, and you kicked my ass enough so I finally got healthy. I was fat as a kid and then abused my body horribly in my teenage years, starving myself and becoming borderline anorexic and super thin, and I still felt very insecure and bad. You helped me finally understand that I am the only one who has responsibility for my body, and that I CANNOT disrespect and abuse it just because I am not doing the mental work to get over being bullied. I got online counceling, started meditating, working out for fun and eating. fucking. food! I feel very great know and gained some curves and muscle. Although I do sometimes fall back into my restricting habits again, I am getting better and better at being honest with myself and calling it out. I know now that these thoughts will be part of my life for probably ever, and that I owe it to myself to fight them. Thanks Papa for kicking my ass and helping me take responsibility. I hope you read this, altough its probably not your usual succes story.
IF was the way I finally got off the diet roller coaster. It's ok to know when you're actually in need of food for fuel. We do not need to eat every 4 hours.
So far, intermittent fasting is the best thing I have done. I have dropped almost 20 lbs and I am learning impulse control, and dedication. Next stage is implementing a new workout regime. After that I want to implement a new eating scheme, where I actually know about macros(I am learning). I have a plan to be a better me, I am not a failure, but I choose to be better than I currently am. I hate body positive activists....
Yeah. It's all packaged bars, chips, smoothies, and soups. You have one meal of your own that involves a lean protein and veggies, if I recall. But the rest of the day, you have processed snacks. I watched a CZcamsr do it for a little bit. It's a ridiculous "diet" and super expensive too!
IF changed my life. I've been on it for almost a year and it's changed my energy, sleep schedule, and weight for the better. I'm also doing that with a whole foods vegetarian diet. I sleep so much better now and wake up with energy for a change.
Noom f-ed me up, their system of colors was backwards from what they tried to teach, I was eating maybe 900 calories a day and when I stopped I gained all of the weight back because I was starving. đ

Fasted cardio for the win! I started doing it over a year ago, and it was a complete game-changer for me. I can knock out a 9-mile trail run in the mountains fasted and have more energy than I ever had when I'd eat before runs. I like the effect it has on my long-term health (stimulating autophagy; helping improve insulin sensitivity) and metabolic flexibility - liver/muscle glycogen, FFA's, ketones, whatever ya got handy, body! Helping maintain a healthy % body fat (I'm 54 and my BMI is less than 20%) is a side bennie, not the reason.

I do extended water fasting. It has helped me change my perspective of nutrition and helped me lose weight. Itâs not a diet but a lifestyle change. I love food and I have nothing against eating and enjoying eating, but fasting has helped me get self control
I'm only about 3:30 in, but I've already zoned in on the title of "dieters." Health is not attained by "dieting." Wellness is not attained by "dieting." Fitness is not achieved by quick fixes. Papa Swolio is the perfect example that fitness is a LIFESTYLE. If you train for a marathon, then stop training completely the second you reach your goal, do you think you'll be able to run that same marathon even three months later? Nutrition and weight maintenance is no different. If you don't change your lifestyle, you will always end up right back where you started, if not heavier. No, this isn't a quick fix- it's a long term solution.
I choosed 3 months ago, Keto and IF 16 and lost 7kg still a long way to go, but I no longer have problems to sleep and energy crashes in the day, doing a bit of yoga for beginners what I fight more is with my willpower, IF is what makes me loose weight and keto what makes my energy better
I took several attempts to lost my weight (165 > 125; 5'5"), but it wasn't because I ever really failed. I just couldn't imagine myself actually getting to my true ideal weight, so I'd set my goals to be very low. So round 1, I was like "okay, I think I can get to 150. That'll put me back in healthy weight range for BMI", then when I got there and stayed there a bit I wasn't happy, so set sights on 140... then on 130... then 125. Now I'm quite content and it's fairly easy to keep in the 123-128 range that I've allotted for myself. If I see 128, I go on a "mini diet" where basically I cut down ~500 calories a day for a couple of weeks, then increase it to only a ~200 cut for a week, then back to a normal break-even point. I'd hardly call it an actual diet, though. It's what I normally eat, just cut down a bit. Similar if I see 123 - I allow a bit of an overeat for a few days to inch back up.
I'm 22 years old, 5'10, and now I'm 145Ibs. I suffered from food addiction due to bad habits as a child that spiraled out of control due to extreme depression and it turned into a food addiction after highschool. I do intermittent fasting and Keto. I learned healthy eating habits and learned to eat slower and understand when I'm full and when I'm just craving. I've lost over 40Ibs without exercise and now I'm trying to figure out what exercises I should do and get into fitness. I'm planning on buying a bike for everyday commuting and I've bought a jump rope. I plan on buying some arm weights and a yoga mat.
"bodies are not supposed to be the same" bodies aren't supposed to have an extreme amount of surplus fat either. our joints, our heart and other organs can't deal with a body that's overweight. if it could there'd be a lot more obese 80-year-olds around.
I work in a rehab hospital all these fat positive people need reality checks not only does being overweight break you down its harder for them to even rehab and get better fat acceptance is a curse i wish these people would stop and think about what being overweight actually does
I eat breakfast and dinner, skipping lunch. I lost all my weight through calorie deficit, eating foods I like on occasion but still to primarily healthy foods throughout the week. And I've managed to maintain and keep loosing for over a year! I've never felt better. 210 to 150! Next goal is 140.
For some people IF works well. For others, it doesn't. Don't be ideological about dieting. Do what you can actually do that will get you to your goal. An ok diet that's great is way better than a perfect diet that sucks.
Idk about yâall but I actually did Noom and it trains you more in a habit forming and affirming way than just as a quick diet. Iâve kept off my weight loss since last year and am still going!
I started doing intermittent fasting a couple of weeks ago, then I changed it to only consuming protein drinks during my "fasting-time". I usually have more energy first thing in the morning so that is when I do my cardio and strength training, after which I have a protein drink and that will then keep me satisfied until the end of my fast, and even longer than that. I know that drinking that protein technically breaks my fast, but it has worked better for me that way. Generally I feel sluggish once I start eating, so moving my training back to my eating-window like someone else suggested just wouldn't work for me. By doing it this way, I can get so much more out of my training. In two weeks I have doubled my reps, increased the weight I train with, as well as increased the time I spend doing cardio and I feel so much stronger than I did when I first started. It's not for everyone, but comparing it to "every other fad-diet" is really naive and dumb..
I am doing keto for almost 2 years and I am doing I.F. (16:8) most of my life. I am against diet yes but in a sense of eating crap food (mind you, all of us have A diet but we may as well choose not to it processed or unhealthy food). You have to respect your body and not eating bs.
I have lost 31 pounds since January with fasting , it has been slow and steady I eat clean most of the time , and look leaner than I ever have ! Fasting works
I am sure you are well researched- but have you tried it 3 times a day? It is recommended to start it that way ( I initially did it that way until I was ready to go to 2, then OMAD). So you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner, just NO snacking. IF can be approached by eating within a small window or eating as specific times with no snacking. I do understand that it is not suited for everyone. My sis grazes and gets smaller by the day, not that she even needs to. Good luck!
I've tried IF several time and it was for an average of 2 week at a time. I could never stick to it. I felt that it might not be good to break my sleep fast in the morning first thing since then so now I only eat protein - a meat of some sort - first thing in the morning. Then a few hours later, I have a shake made of blueberries, kale, green apple, Huel, coconut matcha, almond milk, fresh squeezed lemon, ACV, and chia seeds. Then later I will have a lunch that I feel is a decent portion size and as natural as I can make it. I finish the day with a dinner with the same thought process. I tried keto - yummy option - but couldn't stick with it. So now I eat as many whole natural food options as possible. My only problem with my weight...I can't lose it even though I have made these changes. My work keeps me so busy it's hard for me to get up and go do some type of meaningful exercise. I made a goal that I would start walking and trying to get my goal steps according to my fitbit. Let's see what happens. I decided to start my own CZcams channel to track my progress. Maybe I just need motivation from those who will eventually see it. Fingers crossed.
Noom isn't really like optavia or ww... its pretty much just counting calories and reading some "lessons" .. its mostly just messages of positivity and some science and psychology based information, given on a daily basis, plus teaching you about caloric density, and calorie counting.
I don't have anything against IF, if it works for you is great! But personally, it doesn't suit with my lifestyle, I find even the 16/8 restrictive. And I don't think not following IF means you're eating all day long. I have my first meal at 8 am and the last one around 5-6 pm. Not because I try to get a fast window, just because of habits and following my hunger cues
Yeah, if I wind up skipping a meal at any point in the day, it is most likely lunch. I don't have a job where I can eat at my desk. I really don't function well without breakfast. If I don't eat within an hour of waking up, I just get lethargic and wind up going back to sleep. Which is great if I have nothing do but sit around the house all day, but I don't. I think the biggest window I can get is a 12/12, maybe 14 hours. I do okay on a 5:2, but the weight didn't really move much
I wanted to try IF but my doctor advised against it since Iâm hypoglycemic, I have been since I was a little kid. Iâve definitely changed what and how much Iâm eating along with working out đȘ and Iâm seeing a difference. Especially in the way my clothes fit!! I wore a shirt I bought in February that was fashionably loose, this weekend I put it on and it was obviously too big rather than âfashionably oversizedâ đ #boombaby
Intermittent fasting didn't work for me ... cuz I wasn't in a caloric deficit and still ate my three usual meals ( just diferently timed than before ). đ
Why didnt you go less calories ?? U prolly didnt sleep long enough and stayed awake to eat more?? Time your meals closed together. Plz give it another shot.
@@randyle4520 My timegap between dinner and breakfast was 15-16 hours. I was told, that the timegap is the key point, that caused weightloss . While in fact it is just simple calorie restriction ... caused by skipping breakfast or dinner. đ Furthermore I work alternate shifts in hospital ( incl. overtime ) and this made it too complicated. Therefore I fu**** any special diet rules and ate whenever I wanted, just watched the daily caloric intake ( mostly ). Was sometimes hungry, but it works. I'm loosing weight. Guess I will have to watch my calories and stay often unsatiated for the rest of my life đȘ... unless my stomach shrivels with time. đ
why is Keto and IF considered a diet to her?? Maybe it is, because for both, you still need will power and need to put in the work. I get tired of people like this.

I would not have tried it if you didn't suggest it.
Okay she's not going to come after my keto like that. Apart from the weight loss benefits, my body thrives so much better on a low carb diet; all my digestive issues, acid reflux, lethargy, cravings and bloating stopped when i went keto. Now, proteins and healthy fats make up majority of my macros and my carbs come majorly from veggies and fruits. I haven't touched (brown or white) rice and pasta, *SUGAR* and beans that caused me so much pain in the past and i plan to keep it that way. Keto + IF= Amazing lifestyle for me!!!

I have a plan to be a better me, I am not a failure, but I choose to be better than I currently am. I hate body positive activists....
This man is the goat. I always get good tips and tricks on how to do better đ€
Someone in my office is doing Optavia. Evidently it involves eating reconstituted dehydrated camping food from little pouches.
Armed NotTriggered I read it was insanely expensive!
IF changed my life. I've been on it for almost a year and it's changed my energy, sleep schedule, and weight for the better. I'm also doing that with a whole foods vegetarian diet. I sleep so much better now and wake up with energy for a change.
Watching this after an arm workout, let's get ths bread swole fam
Noom f-ed me up, their system of colors was backwards from what they tried to teach, I was eating maybe 900 calories a day and when I stopped I gained all of the weight back because I was starving. đ
Happy 25th đ papa. I love your channel.
Never take dating advice from people in shitty relationships, never take financial advice from people that are always broke. Why should I take health advice from people treating their bodies like trash cans?
Intermittent fasting + fasted cardio eâryday!!
Beast mode
@@sonyaj66 I barly got my bike and flatten 3 tires already then my 4th got flat as well but I pumped it up it became good . Any idea why my tire went flat ? I was in the hills for 1 hr tho maybe too much stress ??
Happy Birthday!!! I'm joiningđ
Sheâs not âstanding upâ for anything but a slice of cake.
I do intermittent fasting, it works really well for me.
I do extended water fasting. It has helped me change my perspective of nutrition and helped me lose weight. Itâs not a diet but a lifestyle change. I love food and I have nothing against eating and enjoying eating, but fasting has helped me get self control
Photoshop with words.... Wow, that's so accurate.
Does she know what "break - fast" means?
"Bodies aren't meant to be the same."
So does she think bodies are meant to be inefficient and fat?
Happy Birfday Papa!!đ€

Been doing if for months and love it. Dont have to constantly stuff face
Happy Birthday Papa!! Where's Tessy??
Puppy Swolio looks a bit like my doggy Panda Blair! My doggy is a toy Rat Terrier đ€
I work in a rehab hospital all these fat positive people need reality checks not only does being overweight break you down its harder for them to even rehab and get better fat acceptance is a curse i wish these people would stop and think about what being overweight actually does
Love it! Love the puppster! Birthday specials are awesome!
Evidently, even brains are not meant to be the same.....
So glad I found IF and do it daily!
Also chihuahuas are the best ever. I have two!
I just chose 1 diet and sticked to it đ i don't do 4 diets a year. I don't understand why these...well..."activists" are targeting IF đ
I have lost 31 pounds since January with fasting , it has been slow and steady I eat clean most of the time , and look leaner than I ever have ! Fasting works
I'm dieting 365 days a year! đ
Whoa 6 minutes ago!
Hey whatâs up! I used to try IF it didnât work for me that well but i wish it did.
While I'm eating a bag of Reese's.
Awww what a cute dog!
I could never fast because I need to eat with my medication
So you dont sleep?
People use intermittent fasting as an excuse to restrict and binge thoughđ„ș
The fact that some people misuse something, isn't evidence of it being bad.
So........there will always be people that take shit to the extreme.......that's sort of like saying everyone who drinks is an alcoholic đ€Ł
Then those people shouldnât intermittent fast. Every âdietâ isnât for everyone. You have to find what works for you.
Your off by like 2 hrs.. prolly same benifits
Randy Le maybe, that would be great
Yeah, if I wind up skipping a meal at any point in the day, it is most likely lunch.
I do okay on a 5:2, but the weight didn't really move much
Papa swolio how do you drink anything with all that stache above ur lips, been having trouble with mine
Good content but the camera jumping in and out is bothering me. Ha. I flip the phone over and just listen.
I don't get this body positivity BS!! If they love their bodies why don't they listen to it?!?!?!
I love intermittent fasting and I also do OMAD.
IF is better then purging
Intermittent fasting didn't work for me ... cuz I wasn't in a caloric deficit and still ate my three usual meals ( just diferently timed than before ). đ
Why didnt you go less calories ?? U prolly didnt sleep long enough and stayed awake to eat more?? Time your meals closed together. Plz give it another shot.
Take it slow don't go too fast by making things smaller slowly
@@randyle4520
My timegap between dinner and breakfast was 15-16 hours. I was told, that the timegap is the key point, that caused weightloss . While in fact it is just simple calorie restriction ... caused by skipping breakfast or dinner. đ
Furthermore I work alternate shifts in hospital ( incl. overtime ) and this made it too complicated.
Keto makes you lose so much muscles ;(
Randy Le Not true, you just have to put in the work. Iâm Keto, have been for almost 3 years and I lift 5 days a week with my lifts going up every few weeks.
@@Meriderp I seen keto take alot muscle away from my friends . Also can u imgine ur body running keto 247 ????? Doesnt sound natural to me... sound stressful . I do intermittent fasting . 24 7 we sti create ketones but I cycle off and ketosis 247. Sounds dangerous. Do you know keto stephanie on youtube ?
Randy Le It depends on how you do it and how your body runs. Iâve learned I run best on a low carb, gluten and sugar free diet heavy on vegetables and lean meats but thatâs just me. Itâs different for everyone. đ€·ââïž
@@Meriderp do you know fledge fitness intermittent fasting youtube coach ?? Hope you visit his channel
I feel healthy. My organs donât feel good
Watcheed this for the dog
Fasting isnât for everyone but for me it was a tool to get my food addiction in check. Iâve trained my body / mind to not want to eat every hour anymore. đ
Former fat activist is losing weight. Glitter and laser is losing weight. Has alway misrepresent herself as healthy and was not. There is lots for you to digest. Now she is changing. Still she using those crap terms....
EVERYONE intermittent fasts. #theignoranceitburns. Oh and I have never been fat so I never really tried the elimination diet. But I did on your recommendation. And oh boy do I feel better. I've always eaten healthy but I don't think I can process wheat and beans well. So typically "healthy" food can make me feel bad. Thanks Papa for the recommendation. I would not have tried it if you didn't suggest it.
PhD in common sense and logic. Love it! Haha. Awesome video đđŒ
I thought everyone dieted. The Hell is she talking about?
The 8 thumbs down are from Shira and her other accounts!
I do 16:8 IF, but only because itâs much easier to lose weight! Itâs still CICO and fasting isnât magical!
I found another crazy person for u to make a vidoe on her name is bodyimagebybri shes on instantgram and she literally crazy
I just scrolled through and ooh boy papa swollio will have a field day!
Its just a mediocre trick to keep yourself in a caloric deficit and a TERRIBLE method for gaining muscle if you are not a gym noob or steroid user.
Is intermittent fasting safe for teenagers
Intermittent fasting is how you reverse insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Its literally the way to healing your body and becoming healthy. And you need to be healthy in order to lose weight and keep it off
