  • #DrewBarrymore was exploited as a child star. Drew was working from the age of 11 months old. By the time she reached her teens she was an addict and in recovering in rehab. Her mother did not protect her from the darks die of Hollywood, so unfortunately Drew was exposed to it all.

I despise how Oprah asked Drew “why were you in clubs at 9” so accusingly like it was her fault or even choice at all

Only reason her parents weren’t thrown in jail for extreme child neglect, child endangerment, child abuse, and giving drugs and alcohol to a child, is because they are rich. Any other parent would spend time in prison. Disgusting.

It’s a miracle that Drew is where she’s at right now. This was so disturbing to watch. Wtffff is wrong with people in Hollywood?! Please, don’t stop highlighting history the entertainment industry wants us to all forget,

It annoys me how some interview her, including Oprah. You should not be asking someone why they chose to go to a bar as a child. She was a CHILD. That is 100% on the adults. You should never be asking a woman what was on her mind when she chose to drink or do drugs as an elementary school aged kid. That shouldn't have even been an option for her if she had decent parents!

It would be so weird and uncomfortable to have a 7 year old just around me when I was trying to party at a club. Why is Hollywood literally ALL creeps and weirdos?!

“I’m not your friend. I’ll never be your friend, I’m your mother. I had a mother that was a friend. We’re not going to do that.” My heart breaks for her. I’m glad she’s giving her daughters the childhood she deserved. 💜

I know what’s off about Oprah… she said “YOU hung out with adults” almost in a accusatory way. With no regards to what ADULTS put her in that situation.

For her birthday, Spielberg made an appearance on her show and she said that he was the first adult in her life to ever behave like a parental figure to her, which it's so sad.

How can a mother “go separate ways” with their 9 year old child? I will never understand how CPS wasn’t involved in Drew’s childhood. It’s a wonder Drew is even alive! Steven Spielberg isn’t her stepfather. He is “like a father” to her, though.

I love that she’s so protective of her children, she stopped the cycle. I say a similar thing to my kids, “I’m not your friend, I’m your mother. I’ll be your support, your advocate, your protector and your advisor, but as for friends…that can come later”. Children need parents.

The fact that she drank at 9 to get the pain of her problems off her mind…

i'm drew's age and honestly everyone thought she was gonna be a washed up child star who died of an overdose. she made a comeback in the early 90s and blew everyone away with her talent. always will love poison ivy & the wedding singer.

Drew and Brooke Shields had similar childhoods. You would never think both of these beautiful successful women had such a sad childhood and their mothers failed them so tragically.

You can look at those photos and tell that she is a literal CHILD. It's disgusting that no one protected her. And then they exploited what they did to her and tried to spin it like she was an active participant. So many people were complicit.

Her mom knew what she was doing. She was low key passing her around to appease and to be in good graces with Hollywood producers and directors. This is obvious. Her mom was probably doing the same thing. This probably happened to her mom.

I can truly identify with Drew. I had an awful absentee mother, AND I went through a devastating drug addiction from the ages of 17-26. Escorting, stealing, dealing, jail, multiple rehabs, etc. I also lived in my car off and on for my first two years clean!!!! And I live in Ohio where we have pretty nasty winters. I just couldn’t get my act together, still living in the old drug mindset. Fast forward and I have now been clean for 13 years and have been through the next journey of discovering myself for the first time in my life. My years of self destruction made me a very humble and introspective woman. I can see she has been along the same journey I have. Some people quit the drugs, but never change the mindset and remain miserable. Some people see the flaws and wounds and aim to heal them…that’s Drew. Rock on my sister! ❤️
