There’s 2 episodes from series 7 that you missed - Epideme and Nanarchy.
You can see on his Patreon that he has seen those two, but maybe uploaded out of order or something.
And peep show missed the ep when gerrard dies and mark tells doby to ignore his calls, I was looking forward to a few giggles and to hear “he bogus” a few times

The actor playing Capt. Hollister was the Commander of "Hadleys Hope"..the colonist base in the movie "ALIENS"..and he's wearing pretty much the same uniform.
Series 8 seems to have divided opinions but personally I'd go as far as to say it's actually one of my favourite series because as well as the four main characters, series 8 also has other memorable characters that appear throughout the series, some of whom should have their own spin-off series in my opinion! Also Holly has some of the best lines in this series too, my favourite part in this episode is when Starbug gets stuck up the giant rat's bum and Holly says "I hope we don't get stopped by the cops, they don't like it when you're rat-arsed!" Rat-arsed being a British slang term for drunk!😁😁😁
I wasn't a fan of Season 8 personally
All the episodes that have Kochanski in them aren't as good as the original crew.
I like Chloe Annett but the storylines were questionable without Rimmer or rather with the Kochanski character in them.

The image with all of the piercings is in fact, ret bank manager, who decided to break the world record for facial piercings after he retired
Season 8 divides opinion on its overall quility, but it does contain an episode called " Cassandra," which I consider one of the classics of the whole series.
Cassandra is an amazing episode. The ending especially hits both poignant storytelling and sardonic humor, honestly one of my favorite parts where the show takes itself seriously for just a moment and manages to do it well. The only other time I can think of off the top of my head is Krytens line, "But I'm not human. And neither are you. And it's not our place to judge them....I wonder why you do", it says so much in such a simple way.

Season 8 had me in tears with laughter.
The reason Norman left, ironically, only lasted a year. Living in Scotland, he didn't want to go to rehearse in London, only to film in Manchester. One year later, they are rehearsing & filming in Shepperton, London.

It does seem like a lot of people don't care for it as much as other seasons.
I’ve loved red dwarf since 91. Rabid fan and still my favourite show of all time. Season 8 is a belter. Screw anyone who thinks otherwise.
People just hate change . Season 7 was great . Tikka to ride up there with best ever episodes. Overall was really funny with great lines .
The New Red Dwarf CGI model was used for the remastered version's of seasons 1-3. The nanobots rebuilt the ship as it was intended to be before jmc cutbacks. The new blue midget in this series is also from the remastered version's of seasons 1-3
All subsequent seasons have their moments and at least one classic episode.
and this is about as good as it gets for series 8. All downhill from here with some of the worst episodes ever.

Maybe he assumed that since series 1-6 have 6 episodes that series 7 would also have 6 episodes and missed out epideme and nanarchy
@@smelkus no way that's possible. he would immediately be able to tell he missed something if he just went straight to series 8 after series 7 episode 6.
@smelkus He clearly references the last episode at the beginning, so definitely he saw those episodes.

Season 6 was definitely the best, but the following seasons weren't necessarily bad. Even seasons 10, 11 and 12 had their moments. But 9 didn't.

I don't think there's a bad series up to 8. Some are better than others. I rate 8 quite highly, less a mark or two for cheap CGI. It was great to have Holly and Captain Hollister back and some other great actors livening things up a bit.
I never could quite get into it after Season 6. They do all have their moments, but I think there is a noticeable change in the style of humour between 6 and 7. I think Season 7 onwards tends to be more goofy and full of visual gags.
I think I've only actually watched Season 8 all the way through once. I've watched Seasons 1 to 6 countless times and can happily watch them over and over.
The less said about Back to Earth (Season 9) the better really. I cringed my way through it when it was first broadcast, and I haven't watched it since.
The scene with Rimmer & Lister drunk is hilarious. 🤣
@After Work Reactions I think you forgot to upload the final 2 episodes of series 7, there were 8 episodes in series 7 as opposed to 6 in all the previous series...the names of the episodes you missed are Epideme and Nanarchy.
Just in case you didn't know. The reason why red dwarf ship looks different is the original model fell off a shelf and was unrepairable and cgi was coming in to tv more.
Didn't they literally blow it up for the shot in Demons and Angels?

for me there is a plot hole in this series, why isn't there a second Kochanski, the one which appears in this series is from a different dimension so what happened to the one who died on Red Dwarf
She wasn't resurrected because the nanobots presumed the kochanski with the dwarfwers was probably the one from this universe... Either that or she was resurrected we just don't deal with her

Lister kept her ashes separated from the rest of the crew (probably in his quarters aboard Starbug), in the hope that they would one day find a way to resurrect her. Ironically, by doing this he prevented the nanobots from bringing her back to life when they rebuilt Red Dwarf. Her ashes were destroyed when Starbug blew up. The rest of the crew assume that the doppelganger Kochanski is the original one.
First time watching anything from season 7, sadly I have to agree with those who said they were not as good. I could sense the change in writers, the lines just didn't hit the way that grant and naylor's scripts did.
Not my favourite season but this is one of my favourite scenes. "Both cheeks man. She nearly wore them down to the bone." 🤣🤣

If you expect Red Dwarf to make sense then you're going to be disappointed

The continuity in the show is deliberately erroneous
Take Rimmer world as a classic example. Rimmer created clones from his own DNA however Holograms don't have DNA 😂
Don't try to make sense of it, you will fry your brain 😉
The characters were fully flanderised in this season becoming parodies of themselves. Horribly broad comedy replaced the subtle pathos of the earlier shows with jokes about periods, erection gags and archaic references to shows like you've been framed which were past their sell by date even then. It's not fully visible in this episode which, like Tikka to Ride, was a fairly promising start to a season that soon derails into more of Doug Naylor's dreadful observational comedy about women.
Then there are the latter episodes where Doug just completely abandons any sense of the 'sci' in sci-fi and writes himself into such a corner that he didn't even try to write himself out of it when the show returned years later.
He was writing to fulfil a commitment at this point and wanted to end the show and do a movie reboot instead. Thankfully the show does recover and refinds itself somewhat in the Dave Era although there is still the odd misplaced and out of touch joke.
Sadly we've likely seen the very last of it as the bitter legal saga between Grant and Naylor and the age of the cast means we might never get any more at this point.

CGI ruined the feel for the shows for me, it was bad even then.
S8 is far superior to S7
