Capt Hollister was in ALIENS..He was base commander on LV426.
He was also in The Fifth Element. The cop who crashes into a McDonalds truck. Ironic.
Sadly his scene was cut from the theatrical release, but he's in the extended edition.
Speaking of liking watches. In the first episode of season 1 Rimmer is wearing a Casio and I stared at screen shots until I could figure out which model it is and I bought one. So now I've got a Rimmer watch.
Since the Captain's office was a reshoot, that muffin now has clear Tesco iconography on the cup.

I love Red Dwarf, I grew up watching it (probably not in a parent's guide! But it did me no harm). I'm 32 now, and watching it brings back such strong memories. Thanks for uploading, it's heartwarming seeing someone watch it for the first time.

There WAS a model of that Red Dwarf but once again (after Remastered) there wasn't the money left to hire somewhere big enough to film the 12' model. It only got 1 shot for the failed movie trailer - then was cut up/recycled for the Dave era 6' model.

If there are ever any missing episodes it is because they were blocked due to copyright. I do go back and re-edit when I get some free time but sometimes certain episodes just will not stick.
Another good episode, loved all the scenes with the positive viruses and when Rimmer began walking funny after injecting himself! Actually, fun fact, the first three series of Red Dwarf were remastered back in 1998 with all of the exterior shots being replaced with the ship in it's reshaped form as shown in series 8.đ
You can really see how the comedy is getting broader in this episode after the decent opener...and it gets even broader.
That Rimmer salute is legendary and weâve all learnt it đ

Didn't know you were into watches. Sounds like my jam. I have a collection of weird watches from the 50s to the early 90s. The 1970s being by far the craziest period for design ideas.
In my top 3 seasons ,, until 10,11&12 came out then it dropped a couple of places

I'm guessing josh couldn't get them passed copyright.
If there are any episodes that are skipped it is because they were blocked due to copyright issues.

It's like watching a cartoon, isn't it? And remember series 1, where Lister was grossed out by Rimmer catching a look at Kochanski's boobs in Balance of Power? Here we are, series 8, and Lister's gutted that he didn't get to rape her.
And would Cat REALLY dress up as Dwayne Dibley by choice? Still, topical Reservoir Dogs skit - it had only been out 7 years.
Awful stuff, really. The show had fallen a long way here.

And then there's all the weird cartoon-y sound effects, like when Rimmer smashes his crotch with a mallet. Nothing approaching a plot either. Just bizarre how bad the series was by this point. It's like they were having so much fun making it they forgot we'd quite like to have some fun too.
Yeah, and the Dwyane Dibley disguises make absolutely no sense. There is no reason for the characters to choose them (especially Kochanski, who hadn't even met Cat until series 7, let alone Dwayne). It's like something the cast would do as a blooper reel gag for the audience, completely breaking the fourth wall, and not in a good way.
It's painful, that "computer programmers" joke was horribly dated even at the time. Also major plot holes can be forgiven if the comedy is good enough but sadly it isn't. None of these episodes make any sense and the writer tries to get a one liner into every sentence.

I'm pleased that people agree here - a lot of fandoms have that "if it's called Red Dwarf, it's beyond reproach" mentality. But this isn't even really Red Dwarf IMO, it's just called the name, and little else.
