I always laugh when I think about someone throwing a party at that house with a bunch of people entering in and out. Like imagine the grudge trying to remember who was who 😂
Might as well just pull a Gatsby and never stop the party. Kayako probably will have enough and stop the curse somehow.
That's funny! Never thought about that. Imagine having an open house or something too. I bet its hell trying to sell that place lol.

I think that elderly woman in the first movie was a hint that Kaiyako chooses when to kill someone as she probably kept the old woman alive for a while because Kaiyako knows the woman's health requires assistance which means more victims to come to the house.
She didn't need to spare Emma for a few days to bring more people into the house. Emma needed a careworker so after Yoko went missing someone eventually was going to go to the house, be it Alex or Karen, and that's all it takes to be haunted by the ghosts. She kept her alive purely to torture her, not even caring she had dementia already.

"My husband killed me and my son, and my cat? Well, I guess I'll just kill everyone who had nothing to do with it in anger." I can never understand ghosts that do this crap.
It not actual plot, is based in Japanese folklore of the Jurei, specifically the Onryos, Onryos are revengeful spirits in Japan that get attached to a place or a object when they had a very brutal and violent dead, but at difference from the western counterparts there is no counter to them, it doesn't matter if you solve the mystery or find the reason of their deaths, Onryos not only would get revenge of those that wrong them but everyone that enter in their territory or have the object that they valued the most when they were alive, is a consuming rage, that consume everyone that get close to it, and everyone that surround the victim, not matter if they are friends or family, Onryos are equivalent to cosmic horrors, beyond our understanding, there is no way to appease them or stop them, ones you enter in their territory you are dead, not matter where yo go or how far you go, they would find you.

Nayako became ghost as she was killed in a blinding rage by the guy. A rage which was induced by Kayako's influence over him and the whole building. It was the rule of thumb in the first movie. A grudge curse comes to life when someone is killed in a blinding rage.

Fun Fact: Karen's role in the American remake was inspired by Rika's character in the japanese version, although Rika wasn't as prominent a character as Karen since the japanese version focuses less on a single character and divides its time a bit more. Also, Itako wasn't the mother's name, it was the role she played as shaman/channeler. Kayako's mother was Nakagawa Kawamata.

To explain why Naiyako became a curse spirit, it is as Kaiyako's mother said in Grudge 2 that Foundflix pointed out but apparently forgot or never considered. It never was the ritual that caused the curse. I'm sure the ritual did change Kaiyako's personality, but it was the grudge she held when she was violently killed by her husband that caused her to become a curse spirit. Naiyako died violently and became a curse spirit seeking revenge. The ritual was most likely only meant to exorcise a specific spirit which in Grudge 3 case was Kaiyako and possibly her son but not Naiyako.
The grudge traumatized me so much that I can’t close my eyes for two long when I’m in the shower 😭💀

@Brandon Sutton I feel like if there's no solution to it then better stop at 1 or 2 movie instead...Drag it all long and you'll just witnessing the world die in slow motion. It's basically just a zombie movie at this point but you need to wait several hours before one house is turned into mass murdering ghosts.
@Brandon Sutton Yes, but over and over? I would really really like it to y'know...end? Have an ending? Maybe FINALLY get rid of the curse and not drag it through multiple movies. Like what? Are the movies just going to continue, stagnant, yet perpetually creating more and more eventually boring sh*t.
I'm easily entertained and have bad taste, but even I can't stand basically watching multiple movies of the same series that ALL have the same premise and ALL have the same endings.
@@fredericksaxton9782 I wish it would "end" the curse in a way that teases the curse not really being over, but at the same time not opening any more storylines or anything. Like a cliffhanger ending almost, but just no story, just a teaser that the curse isn't really over, somehow lol.

It talks about a powerful rage. The ju-on curse happened because she was killed in extreme sorrow which left a stain on the place. The reason why it isn’t an observable phenomena is because either it’s going unnoticed or it’s a particularly rare phenomena as it can cause a disturbance in the natural order of things. The blood drinking ended the original curse but by then a new curse had already been created when Max murdered Naoko. This is how the curse spreads, it causes new murdered to be committed and these murders will result in new curses and those curses will attach to people and cause them to commit crimes and so on and so forth. They destroyed Kayako’s curse but they were too late to prevent Naoko’s curse from taking its place!
These kind of monsters stop being scary after a few movies aside from some jump scares. You already know human can't do anything.
The Grudge was my childhood fear. I used to get scared when taking a shower.
Same. The grudge is still one of the only horror films I currently refuse to watch, and I’d only watch it with a group of 3 or more friends.
I feared her when I was sleeping in the dark...
i still get scared while washing my hair in the shower, i’m scared her hands will be in my hair 😣 also under my sheets, i’m scared to hide under my bed sheets when i’m scared bc ill remember that scene where she took the woman who covered herself to hide
Yeah, and this reboot isn't going to bring back pleasant memories, only unpleasant ones, and I'm going to get a pair of pants just in case lol
Fritz Matthew I’m watching this just as an attempt to hope it isn’t as scary as I remember it, still terrified
Foundflix: "But if you'd like to see me cover those-"
Me: "Ah yezzir! I need answers how I was able to stomach those in me childhood!"
Marcia Verana SAME!!!!!!!
Stop copying other comments and learn to fucking think for yourselves...
literally traumatized, when we we’re younger my brother would put the photo cover of the grudge on his face and chase me around😂
😂😂😂
In my opinion she has the scariest face of all horror movie ghosts/demons
Who else's thinks of the scary movie 4 scene whenever they see the little grudge boy? "Nissan. Honda. Mitsubishi, Yamaha.. banzai." 😂😂😂💀💀
Briina I’m pissed cause I didn’t realize she was saying that shit until I rewatched it LAST YEAR. And I had seen it SOOO many times
@@nassarihyman2864 That's too funny 💀 but when you realize it, it's like the best ever 😂😂
Briina when I was young that scene scary to me like actual film till I understand what he said lol (english is not my first language and lack of knowledge of japanese brands in that time)
@@TheT3MK4 same
Buddha! Shitake kimono!
this series has TRAUMATIZED ME since i was a kid and i literally can’t watch the first movie completely without having a panic attack lmaooo
Omg me too like wth @Andy Lizette
tunnel snakes RULE! HAHAHA
Andy Lizette still have nightmares lmao
I hope you are referring to the Japanese version.
Andy Lizette same what has set my ultimate fear of this movie is after watching my sister pretended to be the grudge while I was sleeping
The Grudge is one of the few if not the only franchise to have an american remake that respects the source material. It's really awesome when you think that they let Takashi Shimizu direct it and flew the cast to Japan to film there. I don't recall seeing that in any other movie.
I have to admit I confused this for The Ring for a about two minutes.
Wait, this isn't The Ring?
The grudge has to be hands down the most terrifying movie I’ve ever watched growing up
damn and not Conjuring? i mean i agree but conjuring man
Watch Cats... Real terrifying
@@arewestilldoingphrasing6490 oh no..
The Grudge has always disturbed me ever since I was a kid, and STILL to this day.
Maybe watching this will help face my fears.
Same, except this did nothing but rekindle my fear 💀
@@marquiswade7736 Kinda same. Lol
Fml
Idk its just a pale woman that makes wierd sounds. Also i hate how she only kills ppl off screen not showing how strong she actually is compared to other horror figures
@@sirbuflorin5950 There's just something about the Grudge that fucks me up.
I think it's the supernatural element of her, combined with how you can almost never escape her, and her erratic, twitchy movements that freak me out. Lol
Her design doesn't help either.
@@imarock.7662 same bro same. Shouldn't have klicked on this Video :D
I remember sitting in the theater when the guy went over the railing, and the entire audience erupted in laughter.
"Don't mind her she slip and fall," Lmao can't look at her the same since.

Ah yes. The Grudge. I remember my sociopathic friend showing me clips of this saying "its cool" when we were 11. I slept with the lights on for 2 weeks.
YbJQ Where’s your sociopathic friend today?
On an sidenote I, too did the same after I saw Sinister.
@@emperorlelouch2726 Making runescape videos and going to the gym like crazy(hes still a very good friend, we have been for 10 years now basically)
YbJQ Happy for him for riding with you for ten years, congrats! 🍸
I remember there's a part in the Japanese series (or it could be another Asian horror ghost movie) where two sisters turned on the light and thought it'd be safe to sleep together. When one of the sisters fell asleep because she couldn't keep up to stay up with the other sister, the one awake heard creaking steps to their door. Then when the awake sister went to go wake up her sleeping sister, it turned out to be the ghost. It was this scene when I felt unsafe even when the light was on or even if I was with my siblings. 💀
Of course i feel much better than I was then. This movie really bothered me until I was 17. Lol
I'm 100% positive this movie would've traumatized me when I was little....if I hadn't watched se7en first.
I just watched your Halloween franchise video.. you do a great job of breaking down movies and franchises! Thank you and I just subscribed!
