We filmed this video back at the start of the year, but with all the madness going on behind the camera we have only just had a chance to get it edited. It's intended as a full guide for Turbo Lamik TCU users to be able to get thier virtual clutch feeling and reacting like a normal manual clutch for both clutch kicks and fast, high load take offs.

Hi Andrew, just incase you never tried it...
With tunerpro, if you run a second screen you can drag the 2D or 3D table to screen two. This helps with visualising and smoothing ramps whilst working on tables.

Is Brock interested in doing something a little different ? I have a spare v-10 and a 8-hp that needs to go into my X5.
We'd all be interested in seeing that happen. However, Dan has been trying to get Brock to do his v10 8HP swap all year as well haha. But we do have a s85 to 8hp adapter in stock.
ohh this is making me going this way, will it work with Adaptronic as i have one in my FD and RX3?
Unfortunately the adaptronic canbus is not natively supported. However there are ways to make it work.
@ZeroTo60Tube the more i see this, the more i want. Does the shifter have to be so big and the bottom housing?
There are a few shifter options, however if you want a strong one it will need to be reasonably sized.

What is the longterm reliability of using the simulated clutch?
Depends how its used, as how much power and traction the vehicle has. In testing, these 8hp70 clutches are stronger than any heavy duty manual clutch we have used. 600whp, 6000rpm clutch kick at 40kmh in 7th gear it will turn 265 semi slick tyres. Where a heavy duty manual clutch for drifting would normally slip in that situation.
I know a little while ago i was like mannnn og manual trans all the way lol! But im curious with the 8hp and or dct do you absolutely need to upgrade the clutch packs to handle a 700hp drift car or do the oem clutch packs hold up fine for clutch kicks and daily street driving with casual hard driving at that power level?
We put a near stock 8hp70 in a 1100whp skyline this week. We will let everyone know how it holds up. However at 700hp a 8hp70 wont break a sweat. I wouldnt drift with a DCT btw. Slipping the DCT clutches is not good for them.
@@ZeroTo60Tube my friend and I got to thinking. If you’re using the clutch packs doing the clutch kicks and for the pedal emulator, do you necessarily need a torque converter? Could you run it as direct drive and strictly go off of slipping clutch packs?
@@drewncars9505 With a lamik you can run them in a mode that doesnt need the converter. People have made converter replacements. The aim is less mass spinning on the crank shaft. However i dont think anyone sticks with it. End up putting a converter back. BMW even had a version of the 8hp45 with not converter for the race cars, however they also went back to a converter.

What sort of diff ratios are working with the 8hp?
Not being funny, but nearly anything works. We have cars with everything from 2.8 up to 4.3. The 8 ratios make it much less of an issue compare to a manual
